Amid Summer's Inn Bed and Breakfast

I've written several glowing reviews for this property. No more. This year, Amid's was sold to Youth Futures who plan to convert it and the property across the street into shelters for homeless youth - a noble ambition, but no excuse for taking advantage of people who wanted a nice experience at a B&B during the Shakespeare Festival. They are only interested in raking in as much money as possible until the Shakespeare Festival season is over in October. My Peacock Room had been *****ped of decor and had not been properly cleaned. There was an earplug left by the AC, the shampoo had obviously been used, and the shower mat was filthy. I'm not positive both bath towels were fresh. Because of sloppy housekeeping elsewhere, I suspect that hard surfaces, like faucets and other bathroom surfaces, door handles, and light switches were not disinfected. When I complained of the horrible state of the back deck where visitors used to sit and chat in the afternoons, Kirsten, representing the new owners, said it wasn't part of my package. So the unswept floor, dirty arms and upholstery on the chairs, liquid marks on the glass table, to-the-top filled trash can that was not emptied for at least 24 hours and the used band-aid that also testified of their contempt for cleanliness also had at least a 24-hour lifespan. I spoke personally with Scott Catuccio who originally introduced himself as the new owner. When I told him about my concerns and that I wanted to cancel because I did not trust the ethos of the property, he played games and said that Sterling made the decisions about cancellations. So I called Sterling in Scott's presence, and Sterling volleyed responsibility back to Scott. Scott now backpedaled; he was "president" of a company owned by "investors" and he had no power to cancel or make refunds. (I checked Youth Futures website and Scott Catuccio is listed as founder, vice-president, and executive director.)

Wonderful, luxury room and bath! The breakfast was delicious, thank you Gary. Charlene is an attentive host and interested in life and adventure. I hope to see these people again Wherever we meet again. Excellent recommendation for the B&B.

First and foremost, the owners are the best and Charlene is adorable! Secondly, the place has a lot of character and it is great if you are looking for a themed place that is close to the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Thirdly, the owners attention to details and the comfort of one's stay cannot be matched. This place is a treasure! I am sad it is changing owners but I wish the current ones (until the end of this month) the absolute best!

Amazing hosts! Went above and beyond. Yesterday was one of the owners birthday, Gary Elsasser. Him and his wife Charlene made the impossible happen. Instead of celebrating the birthday, they worked really hard to get a room prepared for us. Our reservations at another B&B were cancelled and we were scrambling for new accommodations. Gary and Charlene made it happen. Yesterday was the first day of our 31st Anniversary plans, and thanks to this amazing couple we were able to rest peacefully. Thanks so much!
