Victoria Chau Doc Hotel

The staff are friendly and promptly. We were served with a welcome when arrived. The breakfast is nice and staff are helpful. The location is excellent. The room’s river view is fantastic.

Magnifique hôtel, . Emplacement parfait pour nous qui arrivions en bateau et repartions de même. La vue est superbe. Nous avons été surclassé dans une chambre avec vue sur le Mékong. Le personnel s'est arrangé pour que nous ayons une chambre tôt le matin compte tenu de notre heure d'arrivée. Les serveurs ont été adorables alors que j'étais malade. Bref, un sans faute.

Nhân viên thiếu nụ cười; Dịch vụ nhà hàng thiếu linh hoạt dù dịch vụ cực kì không không học, không hợp lý, nói chung không xứng tầm danh xưng 5 sao và với mức giá bán phòng; Ti vi nhỏ xíu so với khoảng cách tới giường và bàn để xem, kiểu như để “cho có”. Tóm lại cực kì thất vọng trong lần trở lại này!

Nous avons séjourné 1 nuit au Victoria Chau Doc Hôtel. Nous avons pris une chambre donnant sur le fleuve pour voir le lever de soleil. C'est magnifique. La literie est excellente. Le petit déjeuner n'est pas exceptionnel mais la terrasse donnant sur le fleuve rattrape le coup. Nous préférons tout de même la chaleur des petits homestays

This was just a single overnight stay ready for a very early start and transfer up the Mekong River to Cambodia. The Hotel was nice enough, with a comfortable bedroom where we slept well. Breakfast was rather chaotic because it was a very early start and after the Hotel saying the restaurant opened for breakfast at 6am they then delayed the restaurant opening to 6.15am due to work being done in the kitchens; as there was a VERY large party of Italian tourists also catching a boat at similar time the restaurant was overrun when it did eventually open. So, not the best start to the day. We were met in reception by a personal guide/courier (a first class and highly efficient fellow by the name of Aryfin) and, along with another couple who were friends and travelling with us, we were escorted out to a small private speedboat (I say small because the aforementioned party of Italians were on a very large boat and boarding that thankfully separate boat at the same time), helped on board and rapidly departed. This all felt sooo special because we were just the 4 of us, personal guide/courier and the boat driver/helmsman on the boat which was fast, comfortable and highly manoeuvrable. ARYFIN WAS EXCELLENT and assisted with all of the immigration/customs stops for exiting Vietnam and entering Cambodia. In due course we arrived in Phnom Penn and alighted. The whole transfer experience was very very good, and felt bespoke and closely assisted, which it was. Aryfin spoke good English and we rapidly forgot the chaotic breakfast that started the day.

Very nice hotel well situated. We were staying here as we were travelling up the river in two days time. The restaurant was lovely, great menu and lovely wine selection, including a 'local' one. Lovely friendly staff.

This hotel is a rare chance for you to step into old world charm. This hotel is only 25 years old but it was originally built in the French colonial era of Vietnam. Our room faced the Mekong river and we could watch the various boats travel upstream to Cambodia, which was but a short 2 kms away. The hotel has a beautiful outdoor area which stretches across the full width of the hotel. Also, five stars to the courteous, efficient and friendly staff. A special mention for Phung, Hao and Khanh at the front desk who always smiled and welcomed us at any time of day.
