A really nice hotel in a fantastic location however a couple of wee tweaks and I would give it 5 stars. Good points - location, modern and clean. Rooms very bright and clean however we did have an issue with the shower gel not being replenished, despite leaving hints for the maid who tended to do our room about 3.30pm / 4pm in the afternoon so we couldn't always find her. Also, forgot to leave us towels one day. Good variety of pools that would suit everyone. Personally, we loved the roof top pool, view was amazing and very friendly bar staff. Now for the, could do better point - has to be the restaurant. We were half board and food was ok, not the best we've ever had. Restaurant layout and opening hours definitely need to be reviewed to combat the queues. Breakfast - decent choice of food but they need to adjust the layout and move the cold food i.e meats & cheese and bread away from the hot food area as having them all in the one area caused terrible queues. Tables were not cleared quickly enough apart from one morning when I was caught in the queue with around 25 + folk in front of me and by the time I returned with my breakfast selection, my table had been cleared despite putting my orange juice & glass of water on table. Dinner - I totally agree that the 7.30pm opening is too late and 6.30pm would be better to allow those who like to dine early to attend the restaurant and help reduce the queues. On the first night we made the mistake of going to the restaurant at 7.45pm and there was a queue to get in as well as a massive queue of folk trying to access the food, Tables were in short supply and again food layout appeared to create queuing . By tweaking the opening hours and layout I'm sure that the queues could be reduced and help make it a pleasant experience which sadly it wasn't in it's current state. My tip - go later at 8.20pm/8.30pm. Would I return? Absolutely, but without the changes would probably book bed & Breakfast only.

We were a bit aprehensive about holidaying here after reading all the mixed reviews. It was a last minute deal at this 3* Hotel. It's 20 minutes from the airport and that was on a coach transfer. The welcome from the Reception Staff was very warm and efficient. The lifts were both working whilst we were there but they were both a bit slow in arriving. We were only on the 3rd floor so we did walk up and down most days. The room had 2 double beds and was very clean. The room was cleaned everyday and we were given fresh towels. The meals were of a good standard and there was always a large variety to choose from. We did hear people complain about the food,but really couldn't understand why as we never found anything wrong. At breakfast the chef was on hand to make omlettes and cook fresh eggs. There were cereals,fruit juice,full cooked breakfast, cheeses, meats,breads,croissants etc. At lunchtime they would cook burgers,steak or sausage and of an evening they would cook steak and chicken. There was always a pasta dish, chips, salad, fresh cooked baguettes and a selection of cooked meats. (See photos) The pool was absolutely freezing but perhaps that was just due to it being October. The entertainment staff were coming to the end of their season but still did a great job. Simon was really friendly and took time out during the day to sit and chat with people. The Jet 2 Rep Phillip was brilliant and very knowledgeable on the area. He gave us plenty of tips even though we didn't book any trips with him. The bar staff were brilliant. Juan was so friendly and went out of his way to help people who wanted to improve their Spanish. He made such an effort with his Fancy Dress costumes all week as they were celebrating Halloween. If you like wine the ones they serve are of a good quality . The rooftop bar was closed due to it being so.late in the eason,but both the jacuzzis were on and the sunbeds,chairs and tables were out for use. The views from the rooftop terrace are beautiful. The terrace itself looked like it had recently been updated . I liked the fact that the pool area didn't open until 10am as that stopped people putting towels on the sunbeds then going out for the day. There were plenty of sunbeds out and several more stacked at the side if needed. We never struggled to get a sunbed in the sun. The temperatures were up to 27° some days and that was mid October. There are a couple of beaches within walking distance and the main town is a 10 minute walk which you can do along the shore line walkway. We wouldn't hesitate to return and would describe the hotel as being top end of its 3 stars.

As a family of 4 we stayed at ibersol apartments salou because it was cheap, open in February and near portaventura parks, u really get what u pay for here so if ur fussy do not book this hotel ,cheap accomadation, very basic, old and run down inside, dont undrstand why guests have to pay a 100 deposit as the rooms are already in a bad state,i have stayed in much better places and never had to give a deposit. I took pictures of repairs needed to show reception staff what the room was like when we entered it ,they too did not understand why guests were asked to pay 100 deposit either as apartments are already in need of such repair,shower door even fell off while using the shower, home over 2 weeks now and have not received our deposit back,i will make an enquiry today, double bed was so hard i cant describe it,my back was in bits. Seems like some of the apartments have full time resisdents,alot of men seem to reside here, coming and going all times of day and night.i would not come back here but i did know what to expext as i had read alot of reviews similar to mine before i booked and as it was so cheap we decided to stay.Despite all this great heating system,apartments were nice n warm which is needed in february. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, they should recieve praise from managment for this.

On arrival check in fine but the couple next to us were being relocated due to overbooking. We didn't get much info your just meant to find and figure everything out yourself. Rooms are no way fit for more than 2 adults 1 small child. We had two kids and it's far too small for space and beds. Having two small doubles pushed together is not ideal at all. Staff weren't the friendliest this seemed to be the theme throughout always looked confused when id ask the most simple stuff. Restaurant staff seemed to be the worst no hello etc and when I was short changed by 10 euro before I can ask if that was right she raised her hand and said next (I asked the greeter on way out she said she thought I had been short changed as she was the one handling cash so gave me it back) Honestly no idea where the entertainment where. Unless your up at 10.00pm when a show is scheduled I honestly saw someone once. We tried to visit the mini club but it was a room with sofas and books and one guy on a laptop from the team so bit confused didn't try again. Food was nice I didn't think it was repetitive at all. Obviously the salad bar, bread and pasta sections can't change much but the hot stuff and show cooking was different every night. Dessert were all sickly sweet stuff weren't the best. Breakfast was our favourite lovely fresh baked pastry, fry up items, eggs cooked to order and unlimited hot and fresh drinks to. Pool area was great and spotless the cleaners all around the hotel do a great job! They are friendly too! Plenty space and sun loungers. The pool tables inside make a nice edition we enjoyed a game or two. Location is good 15 min walk to main shops but supermarket on corner next to hotel is fab. The bus plana gentleman is very helpful across the road we booked a few things with him great price!! Flawless trip to Barcelona. Water park closed due to 'bad weather forecast ' ended up being bright and sunny no issues so that was a let down now hoping for refund. Would deffo come back to salou but different hotel if there is anything better.

Located just off the main ***** in Salou. With a handy ”back door” that leads you to the main ***** in a few mins. Every member of staff, without exception, was helpful and friendly. How those restaurant staff maintain their energy levels is beyond me. The hotel has some very modern and well presented areas, yet some dated areas. However, without exception, the hotel was clean. The family suites are located in a separate building, an old hotel, I believe, but has been extensively updated - well, the public areas. Connected to the main hotel via a covered walkway. We stayed in the main hotel, and the room was modern with a modern TV with streaming services, Amazon, Netflix, YouTube, and Disney available. The odd thing was that the bathroom was dated. Clean but totally out of character with the room. Superb air conditioning. The room had a small fridge and a kettle with tea and coffee. Rooms cleaned daily. Food is always a personal choice, but you are seated, so no hassle of wandering about looking for a table. We went half board, and without exception, the food every day was hot, tasty, and cooked to a high standard. Knocks spots off other HB hotels locally. Will suit even the most fussiest eater. Really liked the water fountains dotted about and free water in the restaurant

The Salauris Palace is far from a 4 star hotel. I have stayed in better 2 star motels in America! How these hotels get away with calling themselves 4 star is beyond me. This is a long rant about the hotel but if like me you have spent over £2000 on your Jet2 holiday then you should at least be aware so you can make an informed decision on whether to stay here. I don’t like being as negative about a hotel but £2000 is a lot of money to spend on what is a 3 star hotel at best. The location is the only reason to stay here. The decor is old. The grout in the bathroom is horrendous. The cracks in the walls. Bring insect repellent for the ants living in the bathroom. The ants are everywhere. We have been quite badly bitten but I cannot totally blame the hotel. We were out and about a lot and may have been bitten outside of hotel. I didn’t find any ants on the beds during my stay however the bathroom was extremely bad prior to spraying. Noise Do not visit the Salauris palace if you are looking peace and quiet. I stayed in room 154 and the noise in the evenings was unbearable. Earplugs were the first purchase the next morning. To be slightly fair the noise from the entertainment doesn’t go on beyond 11 ish most night however the noise from the other rooms and hallway and the road soon takeover. Do not stay in this room or any rooms near it if you have young kids that you will need to get to sleep before 11pm. It was a battle for us most night and in the end we had to use earphones to get our child to sleep. Smoking It bills itself as 100% smoke free however they provide an ashtray on the balcony! Im sure they technically mean 100% inside the hotel is smoke free but the balconies you can smoke freely which of course means you can’t use your balcony as you will eventually have a smoke smell clinging to your clothes. I found this out the hard way after leaving a pair of shorts out on the rusty dryer that is bolted to the balcony. They still stink of smoke 4 days into holiday. They also say no smoking around pool however again zero enforcement and you will find yourself at the mercy of how ignorant a smoker you will have beside you. Some smokers at the Salauris seem to have some kind of manners and make an effort not to smoke around you and your 5 year old but they are few and far between and most don’t care. They do have a smoking spot conveniently located at the steps out of the hotel lobby, meaning the you will have to walk through a stench of smoke with your family to get to the pool. Room amenities I have stayed in numerous hotels in the UK and USA. I haven’t stayed in as many Spanish hotels but I think it’s totally strange that you have zero coffee or tea making facilities in your room. Maybe this is a European thing I’m not sure but again for 4 stars I want to be able to make a coffee. There is a “fridge”. It’s really just a cupboard to store your drinks. It will not keep anything cold at all. Food Having chosen the half board option I kne
