We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our Honeymoon. The hotel looks Grand from the outside. We checked in and were given room 115. It was a nice size room but the bathroom was very dated, the floor of the room was at a weird angle so was uphill to get to the bathroom. Then unfortunately we didn't sleep as the mattress was old, thin and lumpy. Breakfast was excellent 👍 it was buffet and good quality so no complaints! We went to reception to tell them the bed was awful and they changed our room straight away to a refurbished one which was sooo much better! Room 117. All in a nice stay, the Hotel is a nice short walk from keswick centre and there's plenty of parking. We would stay aging next time we visit keswick.

This was our second trip to Armathwaite Hall and it didn't disappoint. The staff are excellent and the food is good. The views are lovely of the lake and our room was clean, comfortable and had an excellent bed and terrace. A special mention to Akhil for his skill in cocktail making. The cocktail bar is atmospheric, delicious cocktails and outstanding service. We did ask for a vegan wine and the staff initially were a little confused. However, they went out of their way to find one and agreed to change the menu to reflect this. The Sunday evening deal is good value and the spa was nice and relaxing. There is a very short walk through a wooded area but this could be improved (trees cleared) and better advertised.

I came down from the Fells and thought as a member (YHA), I’ll go for a pint at the YHA. I ordered a German beer, because although I am an Englishman, I have spent years living in Germany and know that nothing beats German quality control. As I sat down to enjoy the beer I noticed The I’ll-quality of the furniture! See images. I have lived in two continents (Europe and Australasia), and three countries: England, Germany and Australia. My empirical findings deduces the fact that it is only the Indigenous English native English speaking folk (Caucasian) that seem to accept such sub-standard ambience (furnishings), and expect other’s to tolerate such unacceptable standards.

This hotel is modern in its facilities and decor, but very homely in its welcome and staff. We travelled with family who come regularly and clearly love to return. Service is an exceptional standard, friendly but not obsequious. Food is really excellent and worth coming for even if you are not staying with a menu that changes a little every night.

Made to feel very welcome from the moment we stepped foot through the door. Main communal area has been refreshed recently and is stunning. Bedrooms slightly dated but these are being refreshed this year. If they are anything like the standard of the reception and bar area they will be stunning. Will definitely be back to try out the new rooms later in the year! Location perfect and close to the town centre with plenty choice of places to eat and drink. Lovely views out across Derwent water and parklands.

From the minute we pulled up to the minute we left, couldn't fault a single thing. Lovely welcome on arrival, showed to a fantastic room and breakfast arrangements explained. Room was more than adequate with a really comfortable bed, good shower and tea/coffee facilities at hand,and breakfast was amazing, with really good selection and quality produce. Host couldnt do enough for you, even when he was flying solo on this particular weekend. Great location and close to town but just far enough out not to get any noise( 2- 3 mins walk). Managed to get a parking space in the street opposite, so car never moved all weekend. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again when next up there. Thanks for a great stay Noel & Lisa (Room 3)

GGuest UserMade to feel very welcome from the moment we stepped foot through the door. Main communal area has been refreshed recently and is stunning. Bedrooms slightly dated but these are being refreshed this year. If they are anything like the standard of the reception and bar area they will be stunning. Will definitely be back to try out the new rooms later in the year! Location perfect and close to the town centre with plenty choice of places to eat and drink. Lovely views out across Derwent water and parklands.

This hotel is modern in its facilities and decor, but very homely in its welcome and staff. We travelled with family who come regularly and clearly love to return. Service is an exceptional standard, friendly but not obsequious. Food is really excellent and worth coming for even if you are not staying with a menu that changes a little every night.

GGuest UserWhat a fabulous hotel. Paid extra for a Premier Double which didn't disappoint. A lovely bay window seating area overlooking the hills and lake. So peaceful and a beautiful backdrop. The hotel was sumptuous, breakfast was delicious and lots of choice. The staff were very friendly. Took one of the walks the hotel had suggested, written onto paper which you could take with you. Wow... stunning. Even saw a deer on our pathway. Our bedroom was beautifully done with a very comfortable bed and a super fan which was very much appreciated as we had the most amazing hot weather during our stay. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

A beautiful B&B with lots of character and many positives: central location, clean, beautiful character-ful house, delicious breakfast, friendly waiter at breakfast, facilities in room, and warm shower with toilletries. However a few drawbacks: - Like many B&Bs the sound insulation is poor meaning you'll be woken up by the first person who decides to get up and turn on the tap/shower. - The owner was very grumpy when I arrived. Check-in is until 7pm so I notified them that I would arrive late due to work and was told my keys would be left in the porch. On arrival at 8.45pm the front door was closed so I had to ring the bell. The lady who opened the door was visibly unhappy and despite apologising again for arriving late was just passed the keys with a stern face and told me to close the door behind me before she disappeared. It wasn't the warmest of welcomes. - Room cleaning: I left my room at 11.30am whilst cleaning was ongoing and came back to it having not been cleaned - it seems you have to be out earlier or it will not be cleaned at all. If you book you'll have a lovely and fine stay in a beautiful house. I however probably won't return due mainly to the unfriendly welcome and poor sound insulation.

GGuest UserFrom the minute we pulled up to the minute we left, couldn't fault a single thing. Lovely welcome on arrival, showed to a fantastic room and breakfast arrangements explained. Room was more than adequate with a really comfortable bed, good shower and tea/coffee facilities at hand,and breakfast was amazing, with really good selection and quality produce. Host couldnt do enough for you, even when he was flying solo on this particular weekend. Great location and close to town but just far enough out not to get any noise( 2- 3 mins walk). Managed to get a parking space in the street opposite, so car never moved all weekend. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again when next up there. Thanks for a great stay Noel & Lisa (Room 3)

Iian Dennis LI came down from the Fells and thought as a member (YHA), I’ll go for a pint at the YHA. I ordered a German beer, because although I am an Englishman, I have spent years living in Germany and know that nothing beats German quality control. As I sat down to enjoy the beer I noticed The I’ll-quality of the furniture! See images. I have lived in two continents (Europe and Australasia), and three countries: England, Germany and Australia. My empirical findings deduces the fact that it is only the Indigenous English native English speaking folk (Caucasian) that seem to accept such sub-standard ambience (furnishings), and expect other’s to tolerate such unacceptable standards.

AacheshireclaretEnjoyed an overnight stay at crow park.Lovely hotel overlooking Crow park, as the name suggests, in a quiet part of town but an easy walk to the lake and town.We received a warm welcome on arrival Our room was a good size with a lovely view of Derwentwater and the fells. Plenty of choice at breakfast and all the staff were friendly and helpful, would Definitely stay again. There is parking at the back of the hotel which if you book you stay directly with the hotel is free however if you choose to book through a hotel booking service it is £6 per day.

GGuest UserWe stayed here for 2 nights as part of our Honeymoon. The hotel looks Grand from the outside. We checked in and were given room 115. It was a nice size room but the bathroom was very dated, the floor of the room was at a weird angle so was uphill to get to the bathroom. Then unfortunately we didn't sleep as the mattress was old, thin and lumpy. Breakfast was excellent 👍 it was buffet and good quality so no complaints! We went to reception to tell them the bed was awful and they changed our room straight away to a refurbished one which was sooo much better! Room 117. All in a nice stay, the Hotel is a nice short walk from keswick centre and there's plenty of parking. We would stay aging next time we visit keswick.

I really enjoyed my 2 night stay in this YHA. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and helpful. It’s in a great location, with many walks straight from the doorstep or a local bus ride away. It has a good bar and the food on offer is simple but a good selection and everything you need after a day on the fells. It has a spacious drying room which was very well used due to the amount of rain during the week. The showers are warm, powerful and spacious. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return. The only improvement I would suggest is my bunk bed was quite creaky when I moved. This wasn’t too much of an issue as I was in a private room but would have been more annoying if I’d been sharing i.e. I wouldn’t have wanted to move as not to wake others up.

GGuest UserTraditional Lake District hotel. Location was perfect for wandering around Keswick.
My room was warm and had a lovely view of snow capped hills. Tea and coffee making facilities were available.
Bed was very comfortable and facilities in the room were clean.
Decor in the hotel is traditional country style.
Check in was quick, a few stairs to climb to my room.
The lady who served breakfast was very cheerful and friendly, despite us arriving very close to service closing. An excellent breakfast was served.
The car park is small but managed to park my car and was allowed to leave it there for a few hours after check out so I could explore Keswick.
A comfortable one night stay. Thank you.
