The location of the hotel is not very convenient. There are no good transportation facilities, supermarkets and restaurants in the surrounding area. You need to walk for a while to reach the bus station and restaurants. The hotel's front desk clerk was very nice, but the hotel did not provide comprehensive equipment, such as slippers and hairdryers.

Always get a warm welcome at Redwings. The staff are lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The hotel is surrounded by bars and restaurants and on the main bus route into Birmingham city. Perfect for a short stay at reasonable prices.

Everything was very good food, staff , room etc I would have given it an even better score but I object to paying for car parking.

I booked a stay for one date then had to move the date due my one colleague being in the military and we eventually stayed for what we thought at the time was a pleasurable evening with this hotel on the 2nd September 2022. I felt I did call in plenty of time to move the first booking and just wanted to flag this up with them. They have now charged me for two stays and accused me of not moving the booking and not turning up. I earn a low salary due to my current job and there would be no way we would want to pay for two stays when we only wanted one night. They appear to not be concerned with my story and are refusing to refund the first booking As they have no proof it was moved on the phone by me. I did not receive an email confirming the move in dates and assumed all was well from the telephone conversation . Be aware this could and will happen to you if you need to change your room booking . They might charge you for two stays. I can barely afford this at present especially with rising prices in fuel costs. I will not be returning to this hotel group because they have ripped me off. What turned out as a smashing hotel stay has now turned into a really bad negative memory. It was not a corporate booking and every penny counts for me at this time and we are being treated as if the money means nothing , that we have been charged for two stays , for them appears normal. Even if it is wrong . Just to confirm we paid and stayed for the £205.12 Booking for one night , but were not at the hotel for the other fee they have charged which is £286 Again beware of these big hotel groups who are happy to take your money and if a mistake is made on their part, are very hard to get back a fee that they should not have taken .

Kay, Joe, Majid, Mukesh, Joe and Adam- wow! Simply outstanding We are staying this weekend as we celebrate a 100th birthday party locally. Mum is also recovering from cancer and chose this hotel for all of us to stay at. We couldn't have had a warmer reception and the service has been second to none. Majid went above and beyond to make sure our dinner was perfect. We would highly recommend!

Wifey and I have just come back from a 6 night stay at this hotel. Our son lives in Birmingham and should have been having his graduation ceremony which was cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak. We had the time off booked so decided to come up and visit anyways. The hotel had only just reopened for business and there were some restrictions in place as a result of the virus. The room was a pleasant surprise, spacious, light and airy, if a tad warm as the radiator had been turned on. The bed was comfy and the bathroom nice a clean with reasonable pressure to the shower. Could have done with a little more storage but then I don't expect too many people stay for more than a couple of nights normally. We did discover that the seal round one of the double glazed windows was not very tight so, with the room being at the front of the hotel, some traffic noise filtered through into the room. Being a light sleeper this was a bit annoying for me as the local emergency services do like to use their two tones at all hours of the night. Also the guest above us must have been wearing hobnail boots round their room as we could hear every footstep as they wandered around at 3am! Restrictions also meant that the room was not serviced every day but was cleaned and the bed changed just the once but this was not a problem for us. We had booked bed and breakfast so I was rather looking forward to my full English every day so you can imagine my disappointment when breakfast was just a grab and go bag. The kitchen and bar at the hotel remain closed for the time being so breakfast consists of a bottle of water, carton of juice, croissant, blueberry muffin (the best bit), a piece of packaged cheese, a small container of jam and a piece of fruit. This is fine and full credit to the hotel for trying their best but after the third day it was a bit dull. The staff are brilliant and even showed concern when we stopped taking all the breakfast bag, thinking that my wife was not eating properly. (We did find a little coffee shop just over the railway bridge called Marshalls where bacon and sausage was available) The hotel bar was also closed which was a shame and obviously we could not get an evening meal if we had wanted one. The hotel is right next to Acocks Green station with two trains an hour into Birmingham on the current timetable. Once things are more normal I imagine there would be maybe one more as currently there is a 40 minute gap if you miss the 43 minutes past train. The hotel itself is doing what it can to survive and they told use they have an agreement with three airlines for their staff to stay at the hotel which explains the comings and goings at al hours of the day and night. I cannot fault the staff who were all lovely and nothing was ever too much trouble. We hope to come back and stay here again and look forward to seeing how it is in more normal times. The Hogarth hotel is ideally placed to explore the many plases of intersst around Warwickshire and Birmingham. The hotel itself is situated in lovely well maintained grounds. The room was well appointed and had everything you would expect from a hotel of this quality. Staff throughout were attentive and keen to ensure that out stay was problem free - which it was. Breakfast on each day was very good, great choice ot items - overlooking the gardens. Eating in restaurant on the Sunday night was a joy - great food and great service. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

It was our first time staying at Travelodge Maypole after a long stressful journey, myself and my wife were greeted with a lovely warm welcome from a girl with curly black hair who was very helpful with giving us food suggestions from Travelodge new menu and within the area. We really appreciated being told about the parking. we had a great night sleep in a nice clean fresh room and will look forward to staying again as other Travelodges we have stayed in are not as friendly even though they have a bigger bar area, however my wife and I appreciate excellent customer service and hospitality as well as cleanliness thanks again

Travel a lot in the UK, only stayed 1 night and its probably the best UK guest house we have stayed in. Katherine and Terry were amazing hosts, friendly, warm welcome great with our 5 year old grand daughter. Room clean, cosy with everything you need, great selection of hot drinks and chocolate bars. Breakfast plenty of choice continental style with cereals,yogurt, fresh fruit pastries and full cooked breakfast. A choice of juices and hot drinks really delicious. Lovely garden area would be nice to sit outside in warmer weather. On site parking. Will definitely recommend and stay again. Location great, less than 5 mins walk to the train station straight into the centre of Birmingham City in less than 10 minutes. Thank you for a lovely stay
