I visited Creta during the low season, and the hotel was a beautiful surprise since the beginning: very kindly staff, a comfy lobby and my friend and I won an upgrade once the hotel wasn't full. The accommodation was spacious and we had a balcony with a beautiful city view. The hotel staff gave us an amazing recommendation to have a great dinner time (even with a rainy night) and we ate at great restaurant in Downton. The breakfast was also delicious. So sad that we visited the hotel in the winter time and we couldn't join the pool.

We stayed here during August and had a lovely time. We had a triple room, which had a slight seaview from our balcony. The room size was good, and the kitchenette was useful. We were able to put together some basic meals after requesting some additional dishes from reception. The bathroom had a lovely rainfall shower and was a good size. The only problem we found here were the smell of drainage which meant we had to keep the door shut the whole time otherwise the bedroom smelt. I imagine outside of full heat there would be no such aromas. The bed was huge - One the of comfiest beds of our whole trip - There was plenty of space for 2 of us to sprawl out. The best part of the hotel was the mosquito netting on the windows and door meaning we could have some natural fresh air - I do wish more hotels would do this! The reception team were the friendliest we had met - Nothing was too much trouble for them, always helpful and friendly. They even stock some basics you can buy at a reasonable price such as bottles of water if you dont want to walk up the hill with heavy bottles. The town/beach were about 15 minutes walk. What a beautiful town, and the beach was sandy near the harbour. A great place to just walk round and people watch. Nearest supermarket was at the bottom of the hill about 5 minutes walk.
