It was my first time checked-in at The Village House. Friendly service. The staff welcomed us with a smile and guide us all the way from check in to our room. We personally loved the nature and out of town stress free environment - The Village House it is! Food was great & my overall rating for The Village House - 10/10. Very recommended place for short getaway during weekends and holidays.

Harbour View has arguably the best location in Kuching. From here I can walk to Waterfront, Carpenter Street, and Padungan. There is a coffeeshop and 7-11 nearby. Price is in the mid-range. I stayed here for 1 week, had a room with a view of Tua Pek Kong Temple. The lobby is small and doesn't have comfortable chairs. The hotel seems fully booked judging by the huge crowds during breakfast. Cafe Harapan serves a decent buffet and I really enjoyed their hot coffee. But don't expect a large spread compared to the more upscale hotels nearby like Pullman, Astana Wing and Hilton. The only setback is poor wifi connectivity.

Went here last weekend due to merdeka sales ongoing in kuching,as we were being thrifty..hotels that are rm50 is the one we are looking for,fortunately this fit our bill for 3d2n,imho rm35 per night totalling for rm110 is good for the money..although u have to remember the rooms are small and soundproofing is quite bad,literally if u plan to have sex here just fuhget it..because room nearby got kids around and the other neighbor is gossipping and we can hear it,but everything else is forgivable considering the price is CHEAP and ohyeah good food is all around,dont worry they have 101 foodcourt and siang2 corner

The building consists of 10 queen rooms, 2 suite rooms, 1 single room with toilets attached. The sweet home is specially designed to ushering a bigger group of 25 guests. In addition, there are 2 driver rooms good for 4 extra occupants.
Due to popular requests by smaller groups that,
For convenient purposes, the homestay is divided into three (3) different sections to accommodating any 3 different group to check in at one time.
Each section consists of 3 to 5 rooms with partitions in between.
Cars can be parked into the gate for maximum protection.

The rooms are indeed aging but it is still clean and most importantly very spacious. Check-in is a little slow at times. Nice resort to getaway which is not too far from Kuching city. Nice beach for kids to play around. Breakfast is also nice with variety.

Hhelen_ngauI had a school reunion dinner on 14/9/2019 and it happened that the venue was chosen as to mark our memories of the building history of an ”Roxy cinema” to Roxy hotel and our school which was and still is just opposite the hotel. We used to see movies at the cinema after our Friday classes ended at 12.30pm. The food serves and during the dinner was perfect and affordable The room is clean, bed is comfortable except the layout of the coffee/tea , writing table need to rearrange for better spacing , the hanging of clothes and hangers are not suitable because it looks ugly too with our naked eyes. There is so much more to do on deco to make it a better place to stay. Would like the management to just pay a little bit of services to make guests happy like welcome drinks. The dinning at Cha Cha Restaurant at Level 7, need alot of improvement especially the buffet breakfast - there should be a bit variety of food eg fried noodles, fried rice, a mixture of salad, mixture of 2 fruits cakes/ buns . The waiter and waitress are excellent - tip top service to clear the tables

GGuest UserAmazing place. View on the jungle and the sea. Amazing pool. The room are really great but really smaller than on the presentation. You have to climb on the bed to reach the bathroom. And the food is a bit expensive, with few vegetarian options and portion are really small.

AAnonymous UserA surprise hotel… taught it aging based on exterior… to my surprise the interior had been refurbished and brand new!! Furniture brand new and super clean. Spacious room too. A bargain and will definitely come again. Good job to the hotel management. Congratulations!!

GGuest UserThe hotel underwent renovation recently around the end of 2022. The rooms are now clean and simple, with the management having replaced all the furniture in the room. However, they have retained the old mirror, water tap, and shower head, which have been used for more than 30 years and do not match the new modern room design. The breakfast at the hotel is too simple and should be increased with a bit more variety. Overall, it is worth the rate I paid.

FFong Lung CStayed there recently for 4 nights. The hotel is situated in a very quiet area so finding places to eat is very limited. There is only a budget eating place available during lunch time. And in the evening unless you are mad keen on BBQ then you will have to walk at least 10 mins for food. Simple breakfast was included and I really do knot know if they offer any alternative. If I ever return to Kuching i will definitely stay somewhere closer to the River because walking under the sun is not healthy.

IilovetotravelfoodieAfter Sibu (and before Penang, Alor Setar, Taiping, Kuala Trengganu etc.), I flew to Kuching and stayed for one night in the Hotel Grand Continental Kuching. The probably Malaysian Malay (lady) reception staff who checked me in, was actually one of the most friendly and welcoming reception staff that i had met anywhere, up to now. My pre-booked and pre-paid room (again via a Dutch hotel booking website, back in Amsterdam, for just 24 euros all-in!) was really spacious and comfortable. Mr. Leslie, the night reception staff even gave me a completely free late check-out until 4 p.m. the next afternoon, when i mentioned to him that my Air Asia flight from Kuching to Penang would only depart at 6.20 p.m.. Terima Kasih (Thank You Very Much), Encik Leslie and the Hotel Grand Continental Kuching!!!. Highly recommended!👍

GGuest UserWant to share my brother's experience staying in this hotel with others. He was sent to this hotel for quarantine. Upon arrival to the hotel, no one was there to assist on luggage but it is acceptable as the hotel was probably short on staff or due to covid safety measures. Corridors towards the hotel room was very dark and the walls along the way was chipping off (guess no maintenance was done to the hotel), upon entering the hotel room, a strong cigarette smell covered the entire room Bathroom was dirty, room was obviously not clean thoroughly before, towels was dirty, bedsheets was dirty, air con in the room was leaking and You can even smell someone smoking in the room next to you! What's worst is that the air con wasn't working in the middle of the night. When called the receptionist to complain instead of sending their maintenance staff, they asked to switch off the aircon for few minutes before switching it on again. I have just One question, shouldn't a hotel that is listed as a quarantine center prioritize cleanliness? What's worst is that this hotel cannot accept criticism. We posted a comment in their facebook page regarding these issues, instead of improving their services, they sent their staff up to my brother's room & threatened him to delete the comment on facebook. Is this how you run a hotel? Threaten hotel guests for leaving a negative comment?

SSohaimi MYIt is located close to business centre where you can conveniently reach entertainment, shopping mall, tourist spot and restaurants.
As expected from the budget hotel, the cleanliness and maintenance of wear and tear would be visible but bearable. The water pressure and heater worked satisfactorily. Would recommend to travellers who only use the hotel for night sleep.

CChrista SuaLocation is excellent especially as it is above the shopping mall. Travelling to other places are also convenient. I was worried abouvlet the cleanliness as the few reviews I read was bad on cleanliness but mine was good. Will definitely stay in the same place when I visit Kuching again.

路路中寒梅The iconic buildings of Kuching can basically be seen in the center of Kuching. They are not open to the outside world. They can only look far across the river and by the river. The ferry has a small plank road in the past, but the place close to the Parliament Building is being repaired. I don’t feel much interest in walking there. A beautiful building during the day and night.
