Op vrijdagmiddag 6 september 2024 arriveerde ik samen met een vriendin bij Mennorode voor een ontspannen weekendje weg. We werden warm verwelkomd en de incheck verliep snel en soepel. Vervolgens genoten we van een heerlijk drankje op het zonnige terras. De avond bracht ons een voortreffelijk culinair 4-gangendiner met een mooi bijpassend wijnarrangement, zorgvuldig samengesteld door Daniel. Wat ons tijdens het hele verblijf opviel, was de buitengewone vriendelijkheid en behulpzaamheid van het personeel. Zowel de binnenruimtes als de buitenfaciliteiten van Mennorode zijn uitstekend onderhouden en alles was schoon en fris. Complimenten aan het hele team! Onze (eerste) ervaring in een glampingtent overtrof onze verwachtingen. De tent was ruim en comfortabel, met een charmante overdekte veranda waar we ’s ochtends genoten van een rijk gevulde ontbijtmand die tot aan de tent werd bezorgd. Het ontbijtbuffet in het restaurant zag er overigens ook verrukkelijk uit. Daarnaast was de tent uitgerust met een handig koelkastje en de bedden boden een goed slaapcomfort. Op zaterdag gingen we op pad met de elektrische fietsen van Mennorode en volgden een schitterende route van 40 kilometer door de bosrijke omgeving. Zondag sloten we ons ontspannen weekend af met een bezoek aan een nabijgelegen saunacomplex. Mennorode is wat mij betreft een aanrader voor een weekendje weg, maar biedt ook volop mogelijkheden voor bijvoorbeeld grote zakelijke evenementen. Het is een locatie die alles in huis heeft voor een geslaagd verblijf.

We came to this hotel through a bus tour. Located in the largest contiguous forest area in the Netherlands. Good for those seeking relaxation. The restaurant was apparently renovated and beautifully furnished in a rustic style. Very friendly service and employees. The breakfast was sufficient and good. For dinner, a 3-course menu was included 3 times. Each freshly cooked and tasted very good. Good home cooking. A fellow traveler didn't want any chicken and was quickly given fish as an alternative. There are 4 stars for this. However, the overall impression is reduced in terms of the rooms. The hotel is shabby. washbasin in the bedroom. The toilet with shower is small and the floor tiles are calcified inc. Started. Apparently it can't be completely removed by cleaning. Because the rooms and the toilet were great.! , made every day. Therefore overall impression 3 stars. And all in all to recommend for the small purse.

We were welcomed very enthusiastically even though it was already late in the evening! We got a lovely room, clean and spacious with nice beds. The only thing we missed was a kettle in the room with bags of coffee and tea. Afterwards it turned out that you could rent this, but that was not very clear. The hotel is attractive and cozy. The brasserie is fine and the staff is very friendly. The surroundings are beautiful, you can walk straight into the forest on the other side and there are many activities to do.

Excellently positioned hotel for a peaceful countryside stay. The room was clean and comfortable, though a little cold, even though the outside temperature was extremely hot. I am guessing that the cabin has very thick insulation. The room was always dark under the trees, and not facing the sun, which was disappointing. Pleasantly surprised that a coffee pod machine was provided, as well as a small kettle for tea, as this is not standard on the Continent, so I had not brought my usual survival kit with me! Amazed at the huge size of the shower room, that was set up as a wet room. Unfortunately the shower drain did not work efficiently enough to counter the fact that the room floor sloped away from it! So water pooled across the room under the wash hand basin and vanity unit. This made the floor very slippery and dangerous. A large squeegee mop was provided, but it took some effort to push the water towards the floor drain. I therefore, only showered at night, and very quickly to use less water, when the floor could be left to dry out. The food was good, and vegetarian/vegan options were available. I particularly liked the breakfast buffet, where an excellent selection was set out every morning, and included sliced salad, and fresh fruit. There was only a problem one night, when the travel company hadn't booked dinner for my coach party, and I had been unable to buy food at the Floriad event which was caŕd only, and I had only euros! The hotel restaurant was very busy with another party, and the bar food too was not available....so I suffered a very hungry night. I only wanted bread and cheese, but no one would sell that to me! I often find that hotels, do not do 'basic' food, assuming that guests only want cooked! Thinking about this now, I probably should have gone to Reception to explain my plight, but I just thought it was my fault having only euros with me, and not noticing that only two night's dinners were provided. In the following days, I made sure that I always had cheese and salad rolls, as a backup! The grounds around the hotel were pleasant and the swimming pool was in an attractive wooded area. Pity though, that there didn't seem to be any shops or cafes in walking distance!

This is a hotel with a soul! Kind personel, extremely great breakfast, heating 24/7, nice view from the window, all functionality is 100%, they are cleaning every day, the location is peaceful, all the best! And for the price I paid, this is the best value hotel around Amsterdam.
