The room on the first floor of the hotel is facing the parking lot. Don't step on the pit when you check in.

I usually get the one bedroom suite and was pleasantly surprised at the size of this one which was larger than the others I have been at. The lady at the breakfast area was very good as was the front desk staff. The room's carpeting needs to be replaced in spots. I would certainly stay again.

Semre was of great help, she made sure I was accommodating with the same room I’ve been in, she checked me in asap, the breakfast here in the am are amazing, I will recommend a stay to anyone, the facility is clean and comforting, they make you feel wanted

I stayed at this hotel in Silver Springs on Colesville Rd in March 2023. Both nights of my stay, I was not able to sleep because of the group next door. The second night, I called downstairs twice, after I was not able to sleep because the group next door kept banging on my door, yelling on the floor, and partying. Both times, I was told that even though the hotel has a policy stated on all floors that the hotel was quiet as a mandate from 11pm-7am, there was nothing they could do. I’m not a particularly light sleeper either. This led to me not being able to sleep all night both nights, it ruined my stay, and it is simply not acceptable to run a hotel where management denies guests the basic right to sleep in the hotel because they can't manage other guests. When I went downstairs in the morning to follow up, the person at the front desk seemed confused and told me that the standard response is to send security to manage the group. This was never offered, nor what the person at the front desk did. I find all of this unacceptable. I was staying there for a conference and I was not able to do the work I should have reasonably expected to be able to do because I was exhausted from travel and unable to rest. I think the very basic function of a hotel and the reason people stay at hotels is that they expect to be able to sleep in the room that they have been assigned. If you can't provide that, then I don't know why you offer people rooms at a price.

This is a long time coming. I stayed at the hotel in January just for one night. I’d stayed there before but it appeared to not be on record. But anyway, I was checked in by Ethiopia and she was explaining the hotel and I mentioned I’d stayed before. Love the hotel which is why I go back. Shortly after getting to my room I get a knock at the door. Low and behold it’s Ethiopia with a “welcome” bag with all these nutritious snacks. LOL! I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. That was AMAZING customer service!!! So again, kudos to Ethiopia!!

Title copied from another reviewer who I totally agree with. Five guests ahead of me and it took 35 minutes waiting for my turn. To save your spot 1n the check-in line, you couldn't go sit on available lounge seats obviously. There were 2 check in stations but only one was in use by Michelle. Wait was so bad that I offered to come and open second service station just to get things moving. My local Autozone in Philadelphia salespeople greet every customer at the door but at no time did Michelle acknowledge guests or even attempt to explain long line to assure customers with ”I will be with you shortly” or ”apologies for the delay” or ”the storm crashed our computers” or similar. This leads me to conclude, with some accuracy that an extremely long check-in line is THE NORM at this location . . . . The hotel did have some good aspects, such as nice rooms and adequate gym facilities. However, they were totally overshadowed by the woeful first impression at check-in. Breakfast is also an EXTRA COST add-on i'e - not included in the daily room rate. At the very least, IHG should have added it as a freebie to compensate the guests for the long check-in. IHG must be unaware that most, if not all the guests are coming from a distance - such as a long drive and/or flight, COVID protocols at every stop, TSA rules, etc. By the time most people get to the hotel, the last thimg they want to deal with is another TSA or DMV-type line just to check in. TSA line is understood. DMV line also fully understandable. Long hotel check-in = unfathomable. If I were the front desk clerk I would start with: ”Welcome to Maryland, home of Chesapeake Bay. I do apologize for the long line, if you'd like to have a seat in our comfortable lounge chairs, please put your name on this list here and I will call you when it's your turn. How was your flight/drive? May I get you a chilled bottle of water?” Above will show compassion for your clients, get IHG a better review and soothe travel weary customers Unless IHG considers above outside of their capacity . . . We’ve been a loyal fan of Marriott for years, frequently recommending their services to friends and family. However, a recent experience has left us profoundly disappointed and questioning our loyalty to a brand we once held in high regard. During our recent stay at the Marriott Courtyard Silver Spring Downtown, we encountered a problem that no customer should ever have to face: bed bugs. It was a shock to find ourselves in this situation, as we had always associated the Marriott with quality and reliability. Our frustration with the presence of bed bugs was only surpassed by our dismay at the customer service we received. When reporting the issue to hotel staff, we expected prompt action and a compassionate response. Instead, what we encountered was indifference and a lack of urgency. The hotel's management seemed more interested in downplaying the issue than in addressing it effectively. They failed to provide anything beyond a refund. No mention of compensation for having to completely change our accommodations last minute. The lack of empathy from a company we had previously regarded so highly was deeply disheartening. Our long-standing positive attitude towards the Marriott has been tarnished by this experience. It's not just the presence of bed bugs that troubles us; it's the way the situation was handled. We had expected better from a brand that had earned my trust over the years. We sincerely hope that the Marriott takes this feedback to heart and reevaluates its commitment to customer satisfaction and safety. In the meantime, our loyalty remains shaken, and we are cautious about recommending or patronizing their services in the future.

I had such a great experience at the Doubletree by Hilton at Laurel! My room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The service was top notch! Natasha took really good care to answer my questions and made sure my stay was amazing! Always a smiling face and very professional! I love great customer service so will definitely be back!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
