Expectations were high seeing the reviews and Tam Coc Garden totally exceeded these expectations. Great location to see amazing scenery and sights in northern Vietnam . A calming and relaxing stay amidst native flora and fauna at this eco friendly hotel The staff in every aspect of hotel were helpful, courteous and couldn’t do enough for you . Kim, his friends and the entire staff were fantastic hosts. His home is absolutely stunning surrounded by tall mountains all around and a small pond in the middle. The rooms are beautifully done and very clean. The food was excellent and all special needs were met. Kim also gave his suggestion on what to do around ninh binh and provided the necessary services to plan day trips accordingly. Kim gives personal attention to all his guests and their requests. Staying at Kim’s home is an experience in itself which shouldn’t be missed. Also, they serve the best coffee.

Unfortunately, our two night experience here wasn't as good as we'd hoped from looking at the photos and reviews on Tripadvisor. Upon arrival, staff seemed friendly and helped us up to our room with our bags. We booked a double room which was located one floor up from the reception. There was no noise from the reception area itself but we got very little sleep due to dogs barking throughout the night (all windows were closed). The room itself was a little dated and not the cleanest of hotel rooms (though it could have been worse). There were stains on the blinds, walls, bedding and fabric chair which were a little gross. Hot water worked fine for us and the minibar was restocked with the water which we had used. Staff were friendly when we saw them, but their presence was lacking at times and the hotel seemed very quiet. We were looking forward to sitting out on the large balcony up top (from which the views were stunning) but this area seemed neglected with the bar closed and no guests using it which was sad since we were looking forward to spending evenings chatting to others and relaxing as per the photos we'd seen. We can't comment on food as we didn't eat at the restaurant, though no one seemed to eat there in the evening. We borrowed bicycles (free of charge) from the hotel which was a brilliant way of seeing some of the phenomenal local area. Overall, our experience here wasn't great but it may have been a different story if we'd booked a better room on the other side of the hotel away from the noise of the dogs!

We stayed here 2 nights and wish we'd stayed another night. The homestay family were lovely and the children delightful. It's near the end of a lane surrounded by rock karsts so feels secluded but only about 1km walk or cycle from town. Tam Coc is busy and full of the usual backpacker cafes, travel agents and shops so nice to be a little outside it. The owner drove us to Trang An and the Ninh Binh Bear sanctuary ( a must see) which was convenient (paid him normal taxi rates). Room clean and tidy, breakfast basic and good.

I truly cannot say enough good things about this place. Dzung and his family were so kind and generous. They went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. The pictures of the home stay on the internet do not do this place justice. Dzung has made every effort to make his guests feel at home. We each had bicycles that we could use free of charge. The breakfasts that his wife made were delicious, best pancakes! We had our own bathrooms and the rooms and facilities were absolutely pristine. Trip.com indicated that this home stay had shared washrooms but this isn’t always the case, we had our own private bathrooms. We also couldn’t get enough of the rooftop pool! Dzung was so helpful showing us where to go and what to do. The home stay is so conveniently located, away from the hustle and bustle. So tranquil and peaceful. We will mostly definitely be returning. This was truly a special experience that my husband and I will never forget. Thank you Dzung and your family for being the most gracious hosts. We felt as though we were a part of your family. We will see you all soon!

Stayed in the bungalow for 2 nights. The room was ok, but the bathroom was not great. I could smell the toilet as soon as we were shown our bungalow for our stay which was not impressive, so we had to close the door every time. The bathroom looked half done. There was no shower, just a bathtub with a shower head that sat waist high, which meant it was very awkward for those that don’t want to use the bath. The mirror was too large at the sink that the corner was over part of the nailed shut window. The bungalow we stayed at was near the massage and spa place along with pool tables next to it. This was noisy in the mornings. The only saving grace was the view outside the bungalow, and being able to enjoy the mountain at sunrise before visitors arrive during the day. They had a restaurant located on site which closes around 9.30pm. The food was standard and nothing special, and the first morning they didn’t have a breakfast buffet. Instead they had a given us a menu which was hand written, and told to pick what we wanted to order for breakfast. The options were very limited and my noodles were very oily. I would save my money and stay elsewhere, or just take the day trip from Hanoi. It may have been worthwhile if we chose a different lodging option but I definitely would not be running back to stay. The staff were nice and booked us taxis into town as there was not much nearby to eat something decent. I left feeling extremely disappointed, and initially when we booked the room the photos seemed to show a different story. I wish I took photos to show the disappointment, but it was the last thing on our mind.

We stayed 5 nights in Tam Coc valley bungalow and couldn’t have hope for a better place. It is calm, outside of the city, just a 5 min bike ride to the center. The staff is very nice and welcoming, always willing to help. Here you can borrow a bike or scooter for free. Some delicious breakfast and fresh beers are available too. The pool is great too! I highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice and clean place to relax after a day of visiting the region.

This is my fifth visit to Nan House, the perfect sanctuary to escape the madness of Hanoi. Situated on a quiet road in a rural setting but still only a 10 minute walk to the restaurants and bars of Tam Coc. Everytime I visit improvements have been made, it's just such a pleasure to stay in such a relaxing environment. A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay so pleasurable, and I recommend anyone coming to Tam Coc to stay here. We will be back....
