The Harnser

We stayed in Cley for a birthday in August first night booked the harnser for an evening meal wow it was brilliant casual great service food was stunning. So for my wife’s birthday the next night booked again and were so happy we did all I can say is thank you to everyone at the harnser for the friendly welcome great service and the most amazing food

More than meets the criteria of the perfect place to stay while you explore the coastal countryside. If you ever wanted to stay somewhere where nothing is too much trouble then this is it. Ronan and Allen are perfect hosts and if you stay then you become part of the family.

We had a fantastic time staying at the Harnser, Ronan and Alan were the perfect hosts, you won't find better food on the Norfolk coast, all freshly made and plenty of choice on the menu. Room was spotlessly clean Beware though of large Harnser breakfast it takes some eating but just like the rest of the food it was perfect We will definitely be coming back,thanks again to Ronan and Alan Fat pig Darren and Trish

We were staying just the road and popped in here for dinner late one evening. Whilst they were fully booked inside they happily found space for us and our two small children outside. Nothing was too much trouble and from start to finish we were all made to feel so welcome. Super flexible with food for our little ones and went out of their way to make us all feel at home. Food was absolutely delicious, sticky toffee pudding to die for! We’ll definitely be back!

We were staying round the corner & found this lovely place when out for a walk. They are friendly, welcoming, made us feel at home and nothing is too much trouble. We only sampled the bar on our first visit and light lunch on our return the next day. It was fresh and tasty. A good selection of gin too!

During our week's stay in Cley, we were able to enjoy the amazing food, ambience and great service at the Harnser. Alan and Ronan have done a fantastic job in providing a relaxing and fun place to spend time with family and friends. Great atmosphere, great food and with the gorgeous Reuben and Rocco Frenchies making friends with the customers. Can't wait to return! Thanks guys!!! Save the last Pie for me again Ronan! :-)

We were looking for somewhere to eat as we were staying in the area and we hadn’t booked ahead. We must have looked hungry and a lovely couple who were returning to the restaurant for the 2nd time told us how amazing the food was and strongly recommended we should give it a go. They were so complimentary of the food, the staff, the whole experience that we decided to give it a go. Despite not having a booking we were able to get a reservation for an hour later. Well it was well worth the wait. The owners Rohan and Alan were absolutely amazing. So friendly and made the whole experience a little extra special. The food was delicious, we all had different meals and all plates might as well have been licked clean! We would absolutely return and highly recommend a visit. We stayed in Cley which was amazing, and finding this beautiful little restaurant was the icing on the cake.

Review of restaurant only. No plant based options on the menu, (aren't we all supposed to be heading in that direction) let alone vegan. Restaurant needs to widen their menu and bring it into 2024. Very disappointing for a holiday location, as we'd read good reviews

My daughter found this lovely place almost by accident. She took me over the next day. Wow it was fantastic. The food was excellent and after a light lunch I was persueded to try the scones, especially with the cream by the very nice gentleman behind the counter. He was right, they were warm and soft and delicious. The staff were excellent hosts and I would recommend The Harnser to all. Cant wait to try their evening meals.
