Hotel IStay

The hotel is located right opposite Coimbatore Railway station. Our coolie crossed the road and took us to the hotel which was no hassle. We ordered dinner from the hotel and it was tasty. Malai chicken tikka was good. I would not recommend naan or kulcha. Thick maida based it was, not good. Breakfast buffet was Rs. 200 per person if not booked with the room. It was very delicious, freshly cooked and tasty south indian spread. Hotel is newly built, very clean and new. The staff members are quick at their service and good. I would recommend this hotel if you are stopping by for a night or so.

It took almost days to really find a true and comprehensive review of the iStay Coimbatore. Finally, took a chance and booked it anyway due to the location of the hotel. Now that I stayed for 2 nights in the hotel, here is a detailed pros and cons of the stay. Stay Time & Duration : 2 Nights - Apr 2023 Overall the stay was good on the location, check-in/out experience, overall Hotel common areas cleanliness. But bad on Bed, pillows cleanliness, size of room and overall noise disturbances in the rooms in the night. Pros : * Location is the biggest plus. It is just about crossing the road from Coimbatore junction to the Hotel. So, this means, if you have a late night or very early morning train, this place is best. But, as the road itself, where the road is an eyesoar with potholes and very congested. But, there are lot of restaurants available including the Hotel restaurant itself, which is a plus. * Hotel cleanliness : To be clear, this is about HOTEL cleanliness and NOT the Room cleanliness. The Hotel looks fairly new and also the cleanliness of the common areas are clean including the lobby, lift, stairs, corridor etc., * Check-In & Check-Out : The check-in and check-out experience was very smooth. It took just few minutes to check-in and without any in room dining from my side, it took just seconds to check-out. * Bathroom & Toilets : The Bathroom and Toilets were clean, though the design is bit odd such that the whole bathroom gets flooded while taking bath. Might be this is specific to just the room I stayed in or that is the design in all rooms. * Budget - For a hotel which is so close to the Railway station, the cost of the rooms is ***ageable. Not Low, but medium cost. Cons : * A BIG BIG problem is the cleanliness of the Bed linen, pillows etc., The Pillow cover almost looked a very light grey instead of white. There were stains on the bedsheet and pillows. I can assure this is not for one room as I had booked 2 rooms and both rooms had similar cleanliness of the bedsheet, pillows, etc., As we stayed only in night and had to rush for a marriage, we didn't have time to talk to ***agement. Even if we had talked, guess this is the standard of the bed linen. Also, there was bad smoke smell in one of the rooms and suffocating. * We stayed for 2 nights. After the first night, when we were back the next night, the rooms were not cleaned. So, guess the Hotel doesn't have a cleaning policy per day at all. This makes the above point worse. * Quality of sleep : Make sure you do not get rooms near the Janitors' rooms. There was too much noise and had a very bad sleep due to noise coming from there whole night. * Size of Room : The room is too small. OK for one night stay. But if you are planning to spend day time then the room is very claustrophobic.

Very near to Coimbatore railway station. Walkable and close to all other important landmarks. Very good buffet breakfast spread replete with South Indian dishes. Very courteous staff. Toiletries are provided in the room. Good hotwater facility.
