Universal Grand Leon & Spa

We had a fantastic stay, and checked in the day after the reopning. Nice and clean, fantastic food and top hospitality from start till end. Stayed in 2 junior suites. We will strongly recommend this hotel to everyone, and is planing to come back in July👍☀️. Close to Es Trenc (one of the best beaches in Mallorca). Family from Norway (3 adults and 2 children).

We’ve been lucky enough to stay for 4 nights, Everything about this hotel is 5 star! Beautiful food, rooms, lounges… and mostly the spa/pool. We will be back, My top tip to management would be to update the gym etc photos on Tripadvisor, as we nearly didn’t book!

I paid $670 a night assuming that it’s 5 star hotel how it’s stated . Not even close , it’s no more than 3 stars . Who over rates this hotel 5 star definitely haven’t been to 5 star hotel . This hotel doesn’t cost more than 300$ a night . In my room floor was broken , stained robe , dirty towels . Very poor breakfast for $670 a night , they didn’t even have fruits . Good thing about it it’s Their staff , who was very sweet and very helpful and were willing easily to cancel rest of my stay and refund me . Also , this hotel is for people 60 , not if in your 30s

We stayed at Universal Grand León & Spa for 3 nights and we had the most amazing time! The hotel is beautiful with a stunning decoration, the location is perfect, right in front of the ocean and we loved the boardwalk along the ocean to enjoy some walks with the ocean breeze. We had half board included and the food was absolutely delicious 🤤 everything we had was super tasty! All the team was super kind and always ready to help with anything we needed. In general, we had an amazing stay and we will definitely stay there again once we return to Mallorca. Thank you so much for everything! Margarida & Daniel

This hotel is amazing! Great staff, delicious food and super nice environment. Very close to the beach and facing the sunset which is beautiful to watch the sun going down at the sea. The hotel is modern and with a touch of luxury as the design and space is really modern with very good aesthetics and quality. You have lunch and dinner options a la carte + buffet so prepare yourself to eat a lot. Totally recommend this hotel for a quite and high quality stay.

Just back from 4 nights dinner bed & breakfast with friends. We arrived late after a delayed flight. We had booked 3 twin rooms. However one room we were given was a small double bed. Not what you want when sharing with a friend. Asked the receptionist to have the room we booked. (Twin beds) He said the hotel was fully booked and basically had to accept it. He was bordering on rude. We checked online and the hotel had plenty of availability. When we tried to discuss this he refused to back down and basically just walked away. We were left to deal with the night porter (who was lovely) who thankfully agreed to give us another room. But this took an hour which isn’t what we needed after a delayed flight. Once in our rooms we had been left one plate of salad and one very small sandwich, one bread roll and one knife and fork for our dinner. Thought this was odd as there were two people in the room. There was no room service after 10pm. Very poor for a 5 star hotel. We tried to raise the lack of food with the manager the next day but their answer was to blame housekeeping. We were never given the courtesy of an apology as we went to bed hungry. The air conditioning was poor. Our room was warmer than it should be. Restricting the coffee pods and tea bags seemed ridiculous and expecting residents to pay for a hot drink that you make yourself in your room. The bar was very expensive. Double the price you expect to pay. Hardly anyone stayed in the bar after dinner which meant there was no atmosphere in the bar area. The restaurant was nice but service was shocking. Waiters never approached us ~ we always had to find them to order drinks etc. Dinner finished at 9.15pm, very early for Spain. The buffet desserts were cleared away at 9.15pm so we felt we had to rush our meal if we wanted to enjoy a dessert. Clientele was mostly German, and English language seemed to be a bit of a struggle for the staff. Nice sun beds and towels but sometimes not enough seat pads for the loungers. Overall I was disappointed in my stay. For a 5 star hotel we expected a lot more. The way the staff handled the mix up of our rooms was awful. We were staying at the hotel for a special birthday and they did nothing to make us feel special. I wouldn’t return to this hotel.

My husband and I along with our 5 year old daughter stayed at the resort for 4 nights. The hotel has been very well refurbished recently and offers a very calming and stylish environment. The hotel appears to attract a more senior generation, and as such it isn’t overly child-friendly although this suits our family as we prefer a quieter stay. There is a small kids club, which is essentially a room with simple activities / colouring etc - more suitable for young children. The lady didn’t speak great English but was able to communicate with our daughter well enough and even took her down to the beach one day to catch fish. The location is great, with the most enviable sunset, and just 10 minutes walk from both the beach and harbour. Our room was great, with a terrace and sun loungers. The air conditioning takes some getting used to as I believe it’s designed to be eco friendly and therefore slowly cools down the room rather than blasting our cold air as you would typically find in a hotel. The food at the hotel was excellent, we are well travelled and this hotel had some of the best quality food we’ve experienced at hotel buffets/dinners. Items could be better labelled however. We stayed half board and each dinner was wonderful, a salad buffet followed by a la carte soup, starter and main, then buffet dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our leisurely 2 hour meal’s watching the incredible sunset. Service on the whole was faultless save for one evening where we waited 30 minutes for our wine to be delivered after much miscommunication between staff. The spa is fantastic and clearly brand new, as is the gym. You must try the ice-cold plunge pool! There is an excellent pool bar & restaurant, with various seating options all of which are comfy and aesthetically pleasing. The prices are on the higher side, which is probably why of an evening most venture out to the local bars and unfortunately this causes a lack of atmosphere. This I feel should be addressed. They have entertainment each night, all of whom are very good, so it is a shame when there are barely a dozen people there. I’ve seen plenty of bars packed out with inferior entertainment. I hope to stay again in the future and will monitor how it evolves after its first season post refurb and 5 star status.

Very friendly welcome by Mrs. Carmen Ruiz, who had a surprise for us: upgrade to a see view suite! Tis hotel is everything you can expect from a 5 star hotel, we enjoyed our stay in every posiible way! We can recommend this hotel to everyone, we will definitely come back!
