Caybeach Princess

We visited and stayed for a week, location is okay but is slightly far out, Yumbo centre is a 45 minute walk and Maspalomas is around a 30 minute walk but is flat. There is a free shuttle bus at certain times down to maspalomas and then has certain pick up times to take you back. Pool’s are regularly cleaned and are both a good size but is freezing!! No inflatables allowed. Pool bar shuts at 10 for some people this is too early however I don’t drink so was fine for me. Some nights have evening entertainment which was ok. I wouldn’t recommend eating as we only ate once and it wasn’t very nice. Staff were very friendly and apartments were very clean the only downfall was beds were very uncomfortable. You have to pay if you want to use the AC and TV.

Arrived at the hotel after 1 am to be greeted by a non speaking english receptionist who had to use google translate to explain what she need from us and what to do when we report to reception in the morning. She took our passports of us and gave us map to show where our bungalow was. The lighting was awful and could not the numbers over the doors because they were so small. You need make sure you Euros because you have to pay 10 Euro’s for a tv remote, 10 euros for pool towel, 24 euros for a safe key. The accommodation was clean but smelt of cigarette smoke. The decor is dated and damaged floor tiles, the walls have not been finished properly, the plaster as blown in the bedroom were it looks like the air-conditioning unit as leaked. The fridge in the kitchen was old and discoloured, it had shelves missing and the door was hard against the wall it was not easy to open or shut. There was no bowls to use in the microwave. The cleaning of the room was adequate. We opted for breakfast, wish we had not bothered. The food was awful, to make toast in the outdated toaster to 10 mins. The food was cold and tasteless. We had dinner in the restaurant again this was of poor quality and cold. There is only one pool bar which only has one staff member running it and closes at 10. The staff were very pleasant and polite. We would return to this hotel again due to quality of the accommodation, quality of the food and where it is situated.

Staff are excellent, beds are really comfortable, food is good but choice is limited at dinner. Breakfast between 8 and 10 has lots of choice, even bacon. The pool bar provides food most of the time. Happy hour between 12 and 1 and again later on. Pool is beautiful and surrounds hosed and swept every morning. All sun beds are chained up every evening, and released at 10 am the following morning. Reserving sun beds with towels is prohibited, so people hang their towels on the sun umbrellas instead. Also many sun beds with towels are left unused for most of the day. To get a sun bed, get up early. We stayed in a standard room which was fine. However you have to pay for the air conditioner remote, TV remote, safe key and towels. Half back on return. Check out is 12 noon, but there are two shower and WC rooms you can reserve on your last day. Day time entertainment is mostly for kids. Singers etc in the pool bar area some evenings. It's a half hour walk to the beach, but there is a free shuttle bus stop just outside the hotel leaving at 10.25 and hourly . A small supermarket right next door for all your needs if you are self catering. All in all it's more a family friendly resort than for couples.

My friend and I stayed here for a week and were really happy with this hotel. The pool was very big and always clean. The rooms were spacious and very clean! We went self catering but wish we went bed/breakfast as the location of the hotel is a little away from all of the restaurants. We decided to eat at the hotel each morning which was £€7.50. Great selection of food, pleasantly surprised. Short taxi ride to the restaurant and the hotel staff were super friendly and called us a taxi each night! There is also a free bus to and from the beach each day which is great! Overall a great experience!

We arrived here late on Wednesday night and received great service from the man at reception, map provided to show us how to get to our bungalow and some other bits and bobs on what to do in the area. Off we went to find our bungalow. First impressions started well. We got to our bungalow and it was a lot smaller than we expected. We did pay extra for a bigger area however this clearly was not provided. The air con and tv did not work without a remote, you also needed a safe key to be able to use this - even though easy jet said it was included as standard. We tried calling down to reception to ask for these remotes and the phone didn’t work, I used my mobile to call down and the man didn’t understand English. We walked down there, bear in mind I have a disability and struggle to walk, so it took me a while to get there. Once I did I got my translator out and the man gave us an air con remote. However usually you will need to pay deposit for this - again not mentioned. Turns out the air con remote didn’t even work and there was a section on the air con unit itself to turn on which we did not notice. Speaking of air con, ours was covered in mould which we didn’t notice until we tried turning it on, so again we had to wobble down to reception, granted this was sorted that moment by the lovely maintenance man, who spent over 2 hours cleaning that air con machine - that’s how bad it was. I have asthma so was quite concerned but they dealt with this very quickly. The next day we walked to the shop, the closest ‘supermarket’ was hyperdino about 15 minutes away from our resort, which again was hard for me as a disabled person especially in the heat. But I wobbled over there and wobbled back, put everything away in the fridge. A couple of hours later we noticed nothing in the fridge was cold. Again, had to wander down to reception as phone was still broken, had a maintenance man come over to sort it for us and get us some new shelves as we had two missing. But we did need to throw most of the items away due to them needing to be refrigerated and not. Also note there is only a small section for freezer bits so would not recommend buying much frozen bits. There is also no oven, so where easy jet say fully equipped kitchenette, it is not. There is only a microwave and hob. There is also a kettle, coffee machine and toaster but when booking a self catering bungalow you would expect an oven so we were very disappointed to see this. There was no washing machine so we ended up washing things up in the sink and then drying them out on the airer which was provided. There are laundrettes but unsure on how far these are. The bed was made up of two twin beds, one was very comfy, the other was so squeaky. We had housekeepers in 5 days out of 7 as they do a rest day for the housekeepers which is expected, however out of all these visits the bed sheets were only changed once during the visit, which was on the 5th day, in a hot country you’d expect they’d be changed a b

The hotel was lovely very quiet and peaceful, pool areas are amazing cleaned everyday only downside about the pool was not being allowed inflatables for the kids no rings or lilos allowed unless it’s after 6pm when the lifeguard has clocked off. Staff at reception were very helpful and kind, however pool bar staff on occasions were quite rude. Bungalows are lovely very clean, we had fresh towels most days. Beds are very comfy too. We didn’t need to hire an air con remote it works with just a click on the air con machine same with the tv there is buttons underneath the screen. Taxis are pretty cheap to the local beaches, and very fast arrived at the resort in minutes. There is 3 free buses to the beach we never used them as we were always up and ready early so grabbed a taxi if we were heading out for the day. There is a little shop at the resort for everything you could need.
