The Lodge at Ashford Castle

stayed for 5 nights at the Lodge at Ashford Castle in late June, enjoyed some Oysters and Guinness on the terrace, breakfast was excellent, and really enjoyed dinner. we ordered food for the dogs from the pet menu which was good. we had a really enjoyable time. thanks to Alex, and all the team at the Lodge at Ashford Castle.

We had a good experience staying here one night check in was a bit slow and the room wasn't ready we had to sit outside for 40 mins for it to become available which was long after a drive from Belfast we just wanted to unwind. We got to our room and it was nice spacious and clean the single beds were very very narrow and the room was hot but the air con worked great. The gardens and views are superb the highlight was breakfast. The staff were amazing especially Mary I think her name was she was excellent and looked after us very well and she had a lovely manner and made us so welcome. The food was top class as you would expect and it made our end to our stay special. Check out was quick and easy thankfully and we left satisfied.

Stayed here for a family wedding. Everything about the wedding was perfect. The food was fabulous and the staff worked soo hard to support the happy couple have a day to remember. Breakfast was good and served to the table. The waiting staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel was busy with weddings which did impede on the general customer staying there at the same time. We struggled to get a quiet area for a drink the day we arrived as a wedding was taking place. Whilst our room was of a good size and we had a good view over the front of the hotel and loch we did have a couple of niggles with it, toilet seat was broken and shower bracket was broken too so kept falling off and cld be dangerous. Hotel did put toilet seat right but shower was an issue throughout our stay ugh. No coffee machine in room which would have been a bonus. We felt the room was very over priced for what it was. €400+ per night. We have paid less and stayed in better. However, we did enjoy our stay and the wedding was fabulous

I visited the lodge Ashford Castle for the third time in three years and as ever the place is fabulous. Fabulous view, amazing grounds, lovely rooms, lovely food and friendly and really helpful staff . Really lovely celebration meal at Cullen’s a beautiful surprise desserts for birthday girls .. There is nowhere like Ashford Castle and the lodge Ashford Castle .

Stayed here for 1 night for the wife's birthday and can honestly say that it was the best experience of hospitality ever. A lovely welcome and birthday card and cake from the team was most appreciated. Bedroom was lovely and very comfortable with fresh milk for tea and fridge with water for your convenience. Bar food was excellent as was the cocktails and breakfast again was 5 star and nice to have table service . Free courtesy bikes available to get around the castle estate which is stunning. But the most important thing is just how friendly all the staff are to everyone and that leaves a mark on most people. Will definitely return but for longer and can highly recommend this wonderful experience to all .

We had the most incredible stay for our 30th Anniversary. The rooms are wonderful, the common area is cozy, the location is beautiful and views across the lake are breathtaking. Ealu, the new activity center is a wonderful addition. However, it is the staff that make this hotel so special and makes you want to come back again and again. We were greeted as honored guests on check in and even though we were very early for check-in Ana took care of everything and went out of their way to take care of us. We had a great time celebrating our 30th anniversary, from the warm welcome, anniversary card and special treat in our room to everyone going out of, our way to make sure we wanted for nothing during our stay. The special treatment started before we even checked in, Anna worked with me on our itinerary for our stay at the estate making wonderful recommendations and personally took care of all the reservations, I did not have to do a thing. When I say they go above and beyond they truly do, even though Anna was on off the days we were staying at the Lodge she made it a special point to stop by our table at Wildes so we could meet in person and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Wilde’s restaurant is a must, the atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable, the food is wonderful. Joseph is the star of Wilde’s, we dined there three times during our stay, and he ensured we felt like treasured friends. The Lodge is located within walking distance of Ashford Castle, and while you cannot enter the castle you can roam the magnificent estate and partake in any of the activities offered. They will happily arrange transportation is provided anywhere onsite if you're staying at either the Castle or the Lodge. Our room had access through the courtyard which was beautiful and had a lovely fountain in the middle with flowers and benches around it. It's a special place, we loved it. Again, special thanks to Ana at reception for taking care of everything we needed during our stay, I really appreciate your help getting my husband into a pair of Wellies. Josef in Wilde’s we truly enjoyed meeting you, and Nighn who took care of us at Wildes. Tristan, it was a pleasure meeting you and our conversation about the Lodge and estate. And a very, very special thank you to Anna for arranging everything for our stay and for the very special gift you delivered to our room at the Castle. I am waiting for a special occasion to open and enjoy, but every time I see it in the cabinet, I reminds me of our wonderful stay. God willing, we will be able to visit again.

Firstly, I'll be back. Overall, we had a lovely time. The food, staff, atmosphere, spa, facilities in general were great. Lovely view at dinner. My 'complaints' are minor ... there was a lovely big shower, but no bath (a luxury I like in a hotel). There was no mini-bar fridge. There was no desk of any kind where I could use a laptop or write or even read a newspaper. The wardrobe was tiny and the hanging rail was very high. I'm 5'2 & it was a stretch to hang clothes. If was a good job we didn't have coats and that my partner had only one pair of trousers to hang up. The room was fine, comfortable etc. but for 'a superior deluxe executive' it was pretty standard. That said, I still had a lovely time & will be back.

We loved our stay! The staff were very friendly and helpful and they helped sort out a mix up with laundry we had delivered extremely quickly. Our room was comfortable and clean and breakfast was great. We enjoyed walking the castle grounds and using the pool as well.

Outstanding Hotel, and the best location and food on the Ashford Castle campus! Brilliant helpful staff, wonderful rooms, and a spectacular location to take in the surrounding areas of Cong and County Mayo! You can do day trips to Clifden, and Westport from here, and enjoy the majestic country scenery with day trips. Wonderful breakfasts, and delightful dinners. The International Staff make your stay perfect!
