Unfortunately our terrible first impression ruined our opinion of the hotel. We arrived at 4pm, checked in, and went to take showers. There was NO hot water. We waited a bit, tried different strategies with the faucet, and eventually called the front desk.
Their response: “A lot of people just checked in so they are all likely taking showers now. Try again in an hour or so”. No apology, no sympathy, no offer of a creative solution. Just “it’s an old hotel, what do you expect?”
We were gaslit into thinking that no hot water at a hotel is a normal thing.
We had to take freezing cold showers and head off to our appointments. The next morning and the following morning the hot water was just fine. Isn’t *that* when the majority of people would be taking showers?
We also didn’t appreciate the $100 credit card hold for any incidental charges.
Beds were comfortable. Floors are not carpeted, and felt cold.
The comment someone else made about their remodel being lipstick on a pig is just right. Would not stay here again.
