Sol Sun Beach

Second time staying here and only issue this time was work men drilling concrete ceilings during our last few days of our holiday Overall love this place and location is great to just chill out and relax. However this time each day during our second week had problems after problem 1. Work men fitting new sun canopy to various apartments drilling into brick / cement walls very annoying drilling 2. Swimming pool out of action for 2 days ? No one could confirm reason ? 3. Work men drilling holes along concrete ceilings Why no one knows ? Don’t get me wrong have stayed here before and really enjoy the freedom of sun bathing far away from the pool area or if you fancy more lively area sunbath around the pool

I was a little worried about these apartments as some reviews mention cockroaches, dated rooms and noise but we were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in a studio, A1-15, I think it’s luck of the draw where you are located, it’s a big place, our terrace faced the beach side and was busy outside during the day but no problem at night with noise. Breakfast was really nice, I ate toast, fruit and yogurt everyday, there’s a good variety of food and drinks that are replenished quickly, it’s served from 8-10:30. Sun beds are available at any time during the day and the roof terrace has amazing sea views. Beach towels are available to hire €10 and €1 to change them. Hotel was spotless and reception smelt amazing, rooms were cleaned daily (kitchen area isn’t cleaned but that wasn’t a problem for us) I never really stay at the same hotel twice but would definitely go back. Nice little touches like water in the room upon arrival, washing up liquid, cloth and tea towel supplied. Shampoo, shower gel and hand wash in the bathroom. Pool bar is very cheap and the toasties were delicious. This location is the best I have stayed in Tenerife. Only one negative; pool is missing a fair few tiles.

We booked a week get away at the end of March last minute at the Sol Sun beach based on b&b and evening meal. We had an excellent room overlooking the pool with a beautiful sea view to. The studio room was very spacious and very clean with a super shower room. We really loved the sun terraces so peaceful quiet overlooking the sea and sea front and close to the pool. The staff were extremely lovely helpful and friendly nothing was ever too much trouble . So close to the beach, shop , bars and restaurants. We loved every minute and will definitely be returning.

This was my 6th stay with sol sun, and once again not disappointed. I love this hotel. The location is perfect, staff always friendly and helpful, communal areas always clean and tidy. Having visited many times, I’ve experienced staying in different areas of the hotel. I’ve been fortunate not to have been given a room I was disappointed with. It came close one year ( A block ) but the pros of having two bathrooms and spacious bedrooms outnumbered the smallish balcony with no shade. Even this year, we were offered an alternative room if we waited a few days. The staff really do try to keep their guest happy. Although our board is B/B, we rarely use the restaurant. Although the selection of breakfast food is varied and plentiful. Although the queue for toasting bread can be long.

Well, I don’t know where to start..our room was ground floor and it was very dated the breakfast was vile the sausages was still pink in the middle and everything else just looked like it was thrown together there was nothing tasty about the food at all pleased we didn’t go all inclusive as I would have been very disappointed. The cleaners if that’s what they call themselves the floor in our bedroom hadn’t been cleaned the hole time we was there the amount of dust that came off the bottom of my suitcase at the end of the stay you wouldn’t believe, small maggot's in the swimming pool. Cockroaches in our bedroom that had been killed and pushed into the corner, everything just didn’t seem right for a 4 star hotel. Definitely wouldn’t be recommended this to anyone, work men was in the hotel doing work the last couple days of our holiday and all you could hear from 8am was banging and drilling! Location was very ideal close to everything but not something I would pick again.

Where do I start! Food in this place disgusting! Sausages tasteless bacon like card board, cheap beans. Snotty eggs. Luke warm. many other people staying agree!! Not even fresh juice squash. Our friends said stale rolls. Even doughnuts and pastries not fresh. Think they put out same ones day after day. Porridge like water!! Evening meal the same! Really bad. Paella had no meat or prawns in it! Just 5 muscles. Deserts not good either! False flavour! Everything done on the cheap should not be 3 star only 1. Room inadequate! Pool dead no atmosphere, no music. Pool bar, bland food!! Cockcroches in room. Had to hire towels, pay for sunbeds on terrace. previous reviews don't believe them it was terrible! £3200 this cost us, waste of money! Also even the fruit at breakfast was dry they just bring it out everyday! The 1st night for dinner yuk the head waiter in the restaurant said was it good we said horrible he just started laughing!!!

Just back from a 10 day holiday to sun Sol beach, my husband, 19 year old daughter and myself all had a fantastic time!!! Our 1 bed room apartment had a huge terrace directly overlooking the pool and had 3 sun loungers, a table and chairs and received the sun all day , with a welcome addition of sun canopy to provide some shade.!! The apartment itself was spotless, and well equipped with excellent air conditioning. The pool area was lovely, a huge pool with lovely garden area, and very well maintained. The hotel itself was really nice and served a fantastic breakfast with something to suit everyone. Every member of staff from reception, to dining room and maids were extremely friendly and very helpful!! We will definitely go back!!!

We could not score this low enough and this does probably not represent the whole complex but we booked what was advertised as a spacious house on a well known booking platform that turned out to be an awful studio that was absolutely filthy. Within 30 mins of getting the keys from the agent we had already booked alternative accommodation. The electrics were faulty, the toilet was not secured to the floor, the bath was damaged and had gone rusty and the bathroom floor had clearly had water damage, there was an old washing machine in the bathroom with a lid that had rusted away almost and smelt awful. Unfortunately we had to stay for 1 night because we couldn't get anywhere else to stay. We both got bit in the night from something in the bed and when we stripped off the mattress cover the next morning the mattress was absolutely disgusting covered in urine and faeces stains and smelt badly. We left immediately the next morning and registered a complaint with the booking company and sent them all the photographs. The owner responded saying we had caused lots of damage and threw red wine on the couch and had thrown lots of stuff away?? We could not believe it. We paid £1400 for ten days and are still in dispute with the booking company, we had to pay another £1700 to get another apartment elsewhere but we had no choice. We have never experienced anything like this before in over 30years of traveling together and hopefully never again.

We have just arrived back from the sol sun apartments after a 7 night stay during half term. We wasn’t expecting much as we usually stay with iberostar all inclusive but decided to do a self catering holiday. The location sold if for us as we have 2 children who don’t like to walk far. We had booked a 1 bedroom apartment with street view as this was all that was available, however we was given sea and pool view D6-6. The room was big and spacious with a separate bedroom and door. Cleaners came in daily but my only quibble is that they didn’t clean the floors daily. No cockroaches in room or around the apartments. The pool area was clean and the water was definitely refreshing! The pool bar was very reasonable for food and drinks. We did some excursions whilst visiting; dirt buggies, loro parque and siam park which we highly recommend all of these with children. We would return to sol sun apartments.
