Hotel Manoir de Mathan

We stayed for three days, and it felt like a home away from home. The room was beautiful and very clean. Every morning, I looked forward to a great breakfast. The owner had a list of restaurants in the very close area and even made a reservation for us. All of her choices were a winner. The location can't be better. If you like to explore D-Day, it is the place to stay.

Really enjoyed staying in a small town. Staff were very kind and helpful. Room and bathroom were huge and very clean. Great location, with proximity to the D Day beaches, Bayeux, Caen, and numerous WWI and II cemeteries and memorials. Safe, quiet surroundings with free parking! Highly recommend.

This is a wonderful, historic and beautifully restored property close to Bayeux and the D Day landing beaches. It is a fortified farm surrounded by stone walls from the 17th century. All the buildings face inward toward an elegant courtyard. It is quiet, peaceful and feels like a world apart. The rooms are large and lovely and have a lot of character. The food is excellent, and the staff is friendly and happy. I have been coming to Normandy for work and pleasure for several decades. The Manoir de Mathan is my favorite place to stay.

It is a beautiful property with flowers, plenty outdoor seating. I enjoy the suite for 4 people and the staff were very friendly and helpful when I asked for blanket since it was a bit chilly. Breakfast at the hotel was fantastic to start my day. However, for lunch and dinner you have to drive to nearby restaurants. I was debating whether to stay inBayeaux or here and i believe i made the right choice to stay in this quiet and beaitiful normandy village

We had a wonderful 5 night stay here in early May. The owners could not have been nicer or more welcoming to us for the entire time and they were very attentive to our needs. The location in Crepon is perfect for visiting sites throughout Normandy from the DDay beaches to local town/cities such as Caen, Bayeux, Cherbourg and Falaise. The beautiful grounds and lovely patio invite you to sit and sip your wine and luxuriate in the moment. We returned each day from our adventures to friendly faces and glasses of wine in a picturesque setting that was quiet and relaxing. Our room was a lovely and large and overlooked the courtyard. We had plenty of space yet if felt cozy and welcoming. The bathroom was impeccable and provided both a bath and a shower. Breakfast each morning was fresh, filling and exquisite. The fresh squeezed orange juice and cooked- to-order eggs made us feel special. Breakfast time also provided the opportunity to chat with the owners and ask questions about the local area. Isabelle, the proprietor, also provided a nice list of places to eat nearby and every one that we tried was superb! I cannot more highly recommend this property if you plan to stay in Normandy! The beautiful location is just a few hours drive from Paris and with a car you can go anywhere. We felt at home here and will definitely return! Also this Manor was originally part of another Manor that is also in town but the 2 properties are now completely separate and Isabelle and her husband work hard to create a wonderful experience for their guests and it shows. Thank you for a great stay which was more than we could have ever hoped for :)

We really loved this hotel. It’s out in the countryside so it’s very quiet and peaceful. We didn’t have transportation so make sure you rent a car to get around. There’s 1 restaurant nearby but you may not be able to get reservations so you need a car to get back and forth into town. Hotel was fantastic and has a great breakfast. Room was very comfortable. I will definitely stay here again and staff was great help with everything we needed. Thank you! I’ll be back!

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at this most charming manor in May. It was perfect for our needs. Our room was lovely and the bed and pillows were perfect. Breakfasts taken with the owners (French and English) and other guests were delicious and convivial. Aside from making dinner reservations for us, the husband went to so much trouble on our day of departure to help us find a gas station and a boulangerie so we could get sandwiches for our long drive to Paris. The manor is conveniently located and a great place to use as your base for visiting Normandy. We recommend it without reserve and hope to return one day.

We love this place. I don't want to say that we're picky, but we might be. We know it's right when we meet it. This is it. It fits every need. Beautiful, warm, welcoming, nice room, great outdoor space to have a picnic with your own food and wine, lovely breakfast. It's fantastic. They do have a fancier hotel/restaurant up the road, but we really loved this one.

Koen and Isabelle did a magnificent job restoring the manoir, keeping the old style tradition in the very comfortable rooms but with very modern bathrooms. A wonderful place to stay when visting the Normandy beaches.
