Stayed here for two nights, It is a lovely building, and the bar area in particular is filled with character, although it wasn't really used for drinks during our stay. The breakfast was made with good quality bacon and sausage and the eggs were a rich orange, we didn't eat in the evening here but I'd assume from the breakfast it would have been good. I suppose one could argue the rooms were a little dated but it was generally in keeping with the theme and atmosphere of the building and I kind of liked that, the bed was comfortable. Everything was very clean and tidy. Happy with the service and the charge. It is a lovely village and there were some beautiful little walks and a 13th-century castle less than a mile away. The shower mixer in room one was a conundrum wrapped up in an enigma and we battled each other both mornings (probably me being a bit thick on how it works) The couple who owned it kept a polite distance, particularly the lady but would give advice if asked. I would stay there again. I could see that the building was up for sale online, so the lack of enthusiasm may well be that they feel it's time to put their feet up. If it's enthusiasm your after then pay a visit to the Gwydyr pub 100yds down the road, there are a few characters in there! :)
