The location is beautiful. Almost perfect. The only problem with this remote beauty is transport; didi drivers were mostly not available and when the hotel gave us the number for a taxi driver, the driver concerned tried to rip us off for 4 x the price of a trip to the back area of Chingchen Shan.
Service and cleanliness we give three stars because overall - and perhaps more so considering the rates we paid for the room - there was plenty of room for improvement. The breakfast turned out to be a fixed meal, not the buffet we had expected despite buffet equipment being in the restaurant. We had to ask for glasses of water, rather than staff setting them on the table as is always the case in any normal restaurant.
The nozzles on the hot tub were not functioning, so we were unable to use the jacuzzi. It had not been cleaned when we returned the following afternoon.
Complaints aside we enjoyed our trip to Qingchen Shan, though would advisw travellers to avoid the rear area - about a twenty minute taxi ride from the hotel - and stick to the front area. The tower at the top can be reached entirely on foot from the hotel and the view there is so breath taking, you won't want to leave. But the hotel itself has a few improvements to make before it matches the standards of its appearance and surroundings. We would visit again, but not for the same price unless improvements were made.
