Rooms at 1703

Visited on a Saturday evening for drinks only. We did not have a booking but were welcomed. The service was excellent, and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The cocktails were well made and delicious. Would definitely return if in the area.

Poor all round. Rooms were not clean and very out of date and tired. Such a disappointment. Would NEVER recommend to anyone. No facilities e.g. no bar, no restaurant and no room service. Certainly won't be back.

Rooms, food, location, everything was perfect. 4 mins to walk from bus station. Had dinner and drinks there and the staff were lovely. A special mention for Jade, she was on reception and helping serve tables. She smiles all the time and nothing is too much trouble. Definitely managerial material. Would return and recommend 100%.

This was a last minute booking and we were so impressed with our twin room which ended up being a huge triple room. Really affordable for a mid-week booking. Quiet, very clean, warm and comfy. The room had everything we needed including biscuits. :) Friendly service too. Couldn't ask for any better!

Stayed 2 nights for Hogmanay. Bedroom was small but warm with a very comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities. Lighting was a bit too dim though, just something to be aware of. Quiet considering the place was lively downstairs! Sandra at the front desk couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly, thank you xx

Gone way downhill. We used to forgive a lot here because of the nice bar and grill. This time with the bar, cafe and grill just inexplicably closed until the weekend. A lot more became apparent. Was like a deserted ghost ship. Door to the street not on any sort of latch or lock. Open to anyone. A strange round corner reception when bar isn't open. Our King Room had two single beds pushed together and they kept coming apart. This happened last time we booked a double room too. So its obviously their way of doing things now. Freezing cold room. Heaters did very little. Bathroom pretty grotty. Black mould patches on ceiling. Could hear every car rolling past the window, every drunk at 3am and every clang and clatter of the hotel getting a delivery before 7am for an hour. Right under our window. The window that has no curtain. Just wooden roller blinds, that let in so much street light and then day light my partner had to sleep with a t-shirt wrapped round her head.
