Vila One Beach Hotel

Superb place with very attentive manager and friendly staff who have worked together as a team for 5 years. - restaurant here was better than any place around - staff laugh and joke with you - nice pool if small and no sun bed hogging - rooms clean with great views -air con good - WiFi excellent - streaming services available for Netflix YouTube etc - taxi from airport very convenient and €30 - manager mixes with guests ensuring everything is okay We would have liked a feedback form for the little things. Note no food or drink allowed in room, which surprised us. Also be aware of cultural differences - we tried to be very respectful. This is not Spain. Great holiday and one of the best we have had.

Excellent. stuff.. I have dinner with my friend. We had a great time nice food excellent stuff . Excellent service. Special cheddar salad was amazing . and the seafood was very, very good. The view was amazing . They had a swimming pool was very nice Looking.

A lovely modern hotel right on the beach. Rooftop bar/restaurant and pool. Our room with balcony gave us a view along the coast. In the room there is a lovely bathroom with shower, a safe, sofa and good size bed. A kettle is provided on request. All the staff are extremely nice and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Receptionists Lela and Djana welcome you with a friendly smile, while the chef Erion creates amazing traditional and delicious dishes. Overseen by Manager Malo, we could not have asked for better. We will return to this beautiful hotel.

On arrival the first impression is good. Reception was open with friendly staff who helped with everything. Room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Beds were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony which overlooked the sandy beach and promenade. Breakfast was great with a lovely selection of food on offer ranging from continental to English with coffee and tea. The dining room on the roof gave a brilliant panoramic view of the bay. Lovely little cafe next to reception which we enjoyed for a few drinks before going to bed. The weather was warm and comfortable which was fine for March. As our visit was out of season there was quite a lot of work being undertaken in preparation for the holiday season. This however did not impact on our enjoyment. Highly recommended resort hotel which is bound to be busy when the summer comes.

Our family loved our stay and with kids aged 6,8 & 10 the 5 person family suite was perfect. Wonderful location with seaside views on the promenade of Durres with lots of restaurants and playgrounds. The breakfast was delicious and generous and the staff can't do enough for you. It's recently renovated and the rooftop pool will be open from May. We all really enjoyed staying here.

This hotel is very over priced. Good reviews tempted me to book, however things can change very quickly, and it is no longer accurate innits description. I booked a panoramic sea view room... I expected a panoramic sea view. I got a side sea view. When i said i think yiu gave me the wrong room she argued with me, said thats the only room they have, and in her opinion it was panoramic. You cant argue when there is a wall interrupting the view. It was only 2 nights, and i didnt have time to fight as we had to meet family. Pool area is small. Met some lovely ladies from Norway who were also very disappointed, finding everything over priced and not as described. Drinks are a ridiculous price. I got a water from the bar downstairs, roof waiter took it and said you cant have anything you didnt buy from the roof bar. Ridiculous. Its the same building /company. Mini bar was more expensive than others ive stayed in Durrus. The bed was fine, it was clean, but breakfast was low quality ingredients, and late start time. 8am.... I walked over to get a juice at 7.50 and was barked at, its shut until 8. Our taxi was picking us up for a family event at 8. My only option was to buy a drink from the bar, 6 ft away from the free breakfast i had included in my room rate. Our taxi driver was lovely and waited 15 for us so we could eat something. Poor quality meat and cheese. Pastry was ok, but very limited choice. All in all, avoid, its €25 a night over priced compared to like for like quality in the area. Ive stayed in lots of hotels in the area, and this is very poor pretending to be high class.

Rudest manager I’ve experienced in any of my travels while in Albania. They demand your passport during your entire stay and keep it unlocked drawer at the front desk area which is unstaffed and unsupervised throughout the day and night. If you complain about any of the service, the manager Malo, will insult you and completely disregard your comments about your experience. You can’t bring any water for hydration in the rooftop pool area because they try make you buy drinks from the bar. They insist the pool is also the bar even though it’s in completely separate areas. Even though the rooftop is open to the public, as a guest, you cant sit or hang out in the open space unless you buy drinks. The hotel advertises as a 4-star hotel but it’s more like a no star motel. The bathroom lights are motion sensored and shuts off after 7 seconds so you have to wave your hands frantically 10-20 times every time you are in there. The beds are extremely hard and pillows are like couch cushions. The hotel is in a good location but your views are another hotel or dilapitated run-down building or half constructed hotels. Parking is a mess and the likelihood of your rental getting damaged is high. The experience has turned me off completely from visiting the area again.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was great, lots of bars and restaurants nearby and right by the fabulous beach. Food was also very good, dinner and buffet breakfast. One ******, the coffee with the breakfast is pretty horrible (sorry). Roof top bar lovely, nice little pool. Very reasonable price, would recommend.

We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When we arrived at the hotel, the reception kept our IDs and when we got to the room it was very hot although the reception knew our time of arrival since they arranged transportation for us. We had only 1 night so we went to the beach and later on we wanted to celebrate our anniversary with drinks on the rooftop terrace. Except for one table with 2 persons, all were empty and there was NO "reserved" sign in sight. We asked the bar staff for a table with better sea view, it was a 4-persons table but again, it was empty as everything else and we were not planning to stay long. The bar boy rudely refused us and laughed in my face when I told him I expected a better treatment, especially as we were there to celebrate. I asked to see the manager, he was at the reception but avoided us for a while until he finally, reluctantly, came to talk to us. Unfortunately, he was even ruder than his staff, he never once said sorry and you could tell he did not really care. We left the hotel quite frustrated to have drinks at another place. Later on, when we wanted to shower before bedtime, we saw that the bath towels were stained. As were one pillow (blood stains) and the bed sheet. We called the reception and they brought a new set which was stained as well. Later on, we received a call from the manager who told us we stained his towels and bedsheets on purpose (????) and if we are not happy with his hotel we should leave as he will cancel our booking and call the police to throw us out (?!). For what, because we asked for clean towels that should be standard in a hotel we paid for? To keep it short, he cancelled the non-refundable booking, probably so we can not write this review. And his threats before going to bed... we could not close an eye that night! When checking out the next day, he started arguing with my wife, shouted frantically at her and literally called her a "fuxxing bxxch" in front of his reception staff and some kids. (We were respectful all the time, never even once used bad words.). Also, the pillows on the balcony stink for being so dirty, we could not sit outside because of the smell. There is no privacy whatsoever from the room and the view is not panoramic at all, it is blocked by other buildings / rooms and a construction site. The room is very small and smelled really badly of smoke. Balcony not safe for kids (maybe not even for adults). We asked for a non-smoking room as we are both allergic. They offer sunbeds on the beach but no towels and you are not allowed to take the room towels out. No coffee, tea in the room. Extremely poor experience, do yourselves a favour and avoid this hotel by all means!
