Tamarack Lodge

I booked my reservation for Tamarack Lodge months in advance. I booked the nicest room, a corner balcony suite. When I arrived, they said all the balcony suites were filled and they only had one corner floor suite left. This room was awful. It faced the public beach access on the first floor. People kept walking by our window. There was no privacy. It did not face the beach. It was not a balcony room. It had a view of trash cans. There were no windows in the bedroom. And the worst point was the door that led outside to a small table and chair had a broken lock. The room was not secure until my husband worked for over an hour to fix the door lock. When I asked to cancel because the room was not what I booked for $375, the front desk said I could cancel the second day but I had to pay the $375.00 for that day. What a horrible experience. This was supposed to be the highlight of our vacation and it was NOT. Plus no coffee in the room, bring your own (there is a communal coffee station near housekeeping), there was no place to put your suitcases and the clothes closet was in the kitchen with the brooms and dust pan. You can hear sounds from the next room. Walls are thin. Beware!!!! I would look somewhere else!

My husband and I came here with our adult son traveling in a separate vehicle. Was told at check-in only one vehicle per room allowed in the main parking lot. My son had to park his car in a lot across the street with 4 lanes of traffic behind a gas station. What a joke! Especially when the main lot had at least 30 empty spaces! Luggage carts are lined up in the first floor hallway and just looks cluttered. Where we live this a clear violation of the fire code. Might be allowed here, but still looks tacky and unsafe. When we got to the room it was dirty. Stovetop had not been cleaned. Handle broke off microwave. The cupboard where pots and pans are located was wet and dirty. Yuck! Just wanted to go to bed but just as I was about to get into bed I realized I couldn’t find the bedroom remote control for the TV. Thought maybe it had fallen behind the night stand and after looking behind there I found a nasty old t-shirt that had been left there by a previous guest. Front desk couldn’t do anything about the remote (not her fault) so no TV in the bedroom till the next day. Not a great way to start your vacation

We visited the resort in celebration of our 22nd wedding anniversary. The resort is very well maintained. Our one bedroom was very clean and spacious. Everything you need to cook a meal is there. My only downfall is the lack of friendliness that we received from the staff. Chris from the front desk called my husband’s phone speaking of a noise complaint, when we had just returned to the resort and there was absolutely no noise coming from the room as we were eating. Not friendly towards African Americans at ALL!!!!!

Poor soundproofing between adjoining rooms. I rarely leave reviews, but felt an obligation for others seeking an honest review. The party in the 2 bedroom suite that adjoined our 1 bedroom suite by a single door continued to talk at a loud volume and it was as if they were verbally in our room. We asked the front desk staff to ask the party in the adjoining rooms to not be so loud. The party in the adjoining suite continued to talk and communicate at a unusually high volume throughout the evening and also the next evening. The 2nd evening, I went to the front desk and asked to be moved to a different room because of the continued problem and the front desk staff kindly called management and explained the continued situation. The management replied that we could be moved, but would have to pay an extra $50.00 cleaning fee, which I felt was unreasonable considering the situation and that we would not have been charged an extra $50.00 cleaning fee if we would have checked in for 1 night. My honest review will kindly share, that if you stay here, just plan on possibly verbally sharing a room with guest in the adjoining room or be inconsideratately charged a $50.00 fee by management to be moved to a different room.

We stayed in a two bedroom suite on the ground floor with walkout access to the lake and the terrace. We grilled our own steaks and had a lovely time! The place is absolutely gorgeous. We will be back again. The 1521 sq feet is plenty for two couples to enjoy without being crowded. The kitchen was fully stocked with all you could need.

Multiple lights were out and the phones didn't work in the room when we arrived. Luckily that was taken care of by the 3rd day of our stay had to put in two requests for the phones (apparently it was just pluged in to the wrong spot). Was given 30 minutes notice that water was being shut off for almost the ENTIRE day. No shower was not as big of a problem as no toilets for the day. My wife, being pregnant, obviously needed one. Was never offered ANY compensation. Was told the people who had any ownerships were told they were doing maintenance during that week and to not come in. apparently, they didn't care to give that information to anyone else renting a room. (What lady at the counter said) Had to complain that the water being shut off was a HUGE inconvenience for them to even consider offering ANY kind of refund or remedy to alleviate the obvious problem that it caused. Spent almost $3k for the stay and when I asked for a refund for only just the one weekday (which is a less expensive day) that the water was off. they asked "how do you expect us to make money if we give refunds for issues like that" asked desk to have manager call he never did. I had to call twice. Ended up only getting a small partial refund for PART of the day that they didnt have water after a lot of headache. Would not recommend unless you plan on getting poor customer service when they have any kind of issue that happens. Which is unfortunate because it is a very nice location. Will definitely not be returning. Book one of the MANY other places within a few miles of there. Unfortunately the customer service dealing with no water ruined the vacation more than the day without water.

We just got back from a very delightful, first time stay at Tamarack. We will definitely be back, hopefully sooner rather than later. Our room was outstanding. It was fully stocked with pots, pans, coffee maker, slow cooker, toaster silverware, plates. The coffee maker has a screen mesh filter, so you'll just need to bring your own coffee. We buy whole bean coffee, and brought our own grinder. The coffee cups that are supplied are the small hotel style, so bring your own cups. We would have preferred a king sized bed as the queen was a bit cramped for us, but that's just a minor thing. Industrial toilet paper is provided. You may want to bring your own. But...whoa...that shower. I need one of those in my house. And my one personal frustration was that I could never get my laptop to connect to the wifi. Our phones and table did connect, but the laptop wouldn't, even when sitting right next to the wifi repeater in the lobby. Obviously, something concerning my laptop and not Tamarack. Just to be clear, this is a Condotel, NOT a hotel, so you'll need to do your dishes, take out the trash, etc. But for that, you get much better accommodations. There was a sing a long on Thursday night, and a bonfire going Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thanks again...

Clean rooms, beautiful views, friendly staff. This is our 4th summer staying in tc and we always have a pleasant stay. Rooms, halls and lobby are stopless. Outdoor areas beautiful and the staff goes out of their way to be accommodating

I have been staying at this property for several years, same time every year, which is the 3rd week of May, one week befor the Memorial Day Holiday, when when the summer rates become effective. Today I called to make my reservation for this year (2022) and was astonished to hear that the room rate for the condo that I rent every year has increased by 30%!!!! Look, I know there there is inflation, 6.5% percent to be exact, so it would be fair to increase rent by that amount, by 30%?? This is just gouging, plain and simple. Regretably, I will be lookinhg for accomidation elseware, perminetly
