Alexandra Hotel

The hotel went steeply downhill. It was significantly less accommodating than our previous trips, it didn't respond to our emails and phone calls, so we had to book online. We added our requests to the booking, but they weren't addressed. The real shock came when we arrived there. No staff, no bar, no food, no breakfast. The room was in a state of disrepair, with hair in the shower, dirty mirror and a lot of dust on the furniture. The toilet bin hadn't been taken away since the previous guests' stay. Stains on the towels. We called the reception to request new towels, but no one answered. The shower was either warm or boiling water, which seems to be a recurring issue that no one is particularly concerned about. The only positive aspect was the view from the room. During our checkout, the receptionist appeared as if we were disturbing her with our presence. Last summer, we visited twice due to our fondness for the hotel, and the lovely experience we had, but we won't be returning again. It's such a shame.

Walked into a freezing cold room with mould. Demanded a full refund with 30 seconds. Just don't, not worth the time or effort. Hotel inspectors you need to take a look at this hotel. Sending photos of the room to environmental health. Now in the View hotel just down the road enjoying a warm mould free room.

The room was great ( but at £200+ did expect a decent room). But the bathroom door handle was broken - couldn't get into the bathroom late at might until we used a teaspoon to push the tongue of the lock back. But the breakfast, oh the breakfast. We were served instant coffee. The sausage in the all in breakfast was the most awful cheap frozen sausage - all the rest of the breakfast ingredients were equally awful. I had a look at the croissants - out of a packet, inedible.

Me and friend stayed for 2nights over Saturday and Sunday. Hotel within walking distance of train station which is right in centre of town. We booked a superior sea view twin room, which was very comfortable. Beds we’re comfortable, toiletries and hairdryer provided, along with tea and coffee. Breakfast was full English or buffet cereals or yoghurt & pastries. All of which were good. The only downside was the hotel being on busy main road and if windows are open it can be quite noisy, but for us it wasn’t a problem as position of the hotel is ideal. If we were to return to Eastbourne then I would be happy to stay again.

We have stayed in various hotels in Eastbourne for the tennis - the hotel stock really varies. The welcome was friendly, keeping our bags until we came back from tennis. We had a lovely sea view room with a single & double bed. Breakfast was good. Parking is easy with the £2 permit per day. Al in all a really good find.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. They understood very well the requirements for a coeliac too.

The property was close to the Pier, beach and promenade. I would rate the property as 3.2 stars. The property was nice and clean, but the rooms were oddly shaped. The single room with a sea view was very narrow and one felt that you were sleeping in a closed off corridor (the bathroom so small that the sink was in the bedroom)The breakfast was good but despite it being quiet, the empty cereal bowls were left on the table even after you received your cooked breakfast creating a very messy looking table. The staff were helpful and courteous.

I liked the location of the property and the ease to get food around. I also liked the friendliness of the staff and their courteousness.

We stayed here for my birthday weekend. Hospoitality was perfect and was looking forward to a nice stay until the people next door came home whilst we we’re eating our pizza. they were soo loud and you can then tell the walls were paper thin and its not ideal to have your bedroom backed onto the people nexts doors bathroom, you can hear everything and i mean everything. but i guess this is the layout in most rooms. i was hoping to have a nice quiet sleep except i had to listen constantly to the woman shouting or talking to her partner allnight, then after midnight she starts signing. i was at my wits ends by this point and i didnt know how many times they kept going in and out the bathroom moaning about the hot water, it was complete tortour and i didnt get any sleep till gone 3am, disrespectful and clearly dont give a damn about people staying in the room next door. i know i could of complained but i couldnt be ****d to get out of bed and moan knowing that they’ll probably be laughing and being even noisier cos we complained which is why i didnt bother, couldnt wait to get out the next morning, otherwise, room was pretty, clean and as i said the hospitality from Monica was great, she was always asking of there was anything we needed.
