Very nice, clean and peaceful accommodations with truly professional and friendly staff. The hotel is outside of downtown but has a nice restaurant and prompt service to recommend places in town, arrange transportation and tend to every need.

The hotel is nice but there is no AC and it gets VERY hot in Calafate in the afternoons during summer. There’s no AC in the lobby either to be able to cool off. The bedrooms could be updated as they are a little outdated and so is the bathroom.

We stayed here three nights. We actually enjoy the stay and we found everything as expected. It is a 4 star hotel and service is limited to that. All staff is very friendly, particularly Agustina who was always very helpful. The views to the lake as you enter the lobby are magnificent. You will still see that from your room. Rooms are confortable and bath shower work very well. There is plenty of parking space if you are driving and it is free. I was not concern about the distance to downtown as I was by car. Perhaps if walking you might need to take a taxi more often. I do recommend the place if you expectations on service and amenities are not huge. One opportunity for improvement is breakfast. It is free and enough but it didn’t change at all during our stay.

The guy at the reception is a thief and a rude human being. He is “harassing” me for a payment which we made to the masseuse already

Fui apenas ao restaurante. A comida estava regular (batatas fitas encharcadas, purê salgado). O serviço deixou à desejar, com dificuldade de obtermos o que pedimos no menu. Tomamos espumante em taça de água, pois não havia outro tipo (tinha taça para vinho, mas era para vinho, não espumante, rs).

Hotel bom, estrutura boa. Porém, não tem nada próximo e não dispõe de alimentação durante o dia. A cidade conta com restrição de táxis, então o acesso é difícil. A rampa de acesso íngreme e sem asfalto, não permite que ônibus de transfer e excursão subam, deixando hóspedes com malas para subir uma rampa com estrada de chão.

Un Excelente hotel. Con unas hermosas vistas desde los salones comunes y desde todas las habitaciones. Muy buena la atención. Muy buena ubicación. Rico desayuno. Cenamos una noche, comimos muy bien y los platos excelentemente presentados. Muy buen precio ! Super recomendable!

Me hospedé aquí en Enero de 2023, en el marco de un viaje de 4 días y 3 noches a El Calafate. El viaje lo organizamos con Grupo Tres de Turismo de Rosario. Dentro de las alternativas disponibles estaba este hotel. Destacó la disposición del personal y su actitud de servicio, luego la vista desde el ventanal y las instalaciones del mismo. Si bien la ubicación no es céntrica (y para llegar caminando hay subidas y bajadas), el hecho de contar con un restaurante (y, de hecho, muy bueno) compensa. El desayuno cumple. Recomiendo.

Terrazas del Calafate Hotel has a spectacular lake view from the large room and picturesque windows. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom includes a spa tub. The tub should have been a selling point, but it was old and some of the jets were missing and those jet holes looked a little festy. I had a bath that night but skipped the jets. The other big minus was the heating. It didn’t work properly. This wasn’t an issue while the sun came in through the big windows, but after dark it became decidedly cool. Their answer was to give me an extra blanket. This is no solution as an extra blanket doesn’t help getting up in the morning and preparing to leave. I have discovered travelling through South America that heating isn’t a priority. I cannot work out why, especially in the southern latitudes. It’s really something they need to improve to cater for international guests. The room at this hotel cost me $US100. It is a nice hotel but it’s the little things that need to be addressed. The Terrazas del Calafate isn’t a bad option if staying in El Calafate. Check out my other reviews of places, hotels and experiences throughout South America.
