We had the best time at Hotel Hetta, staying in 2 of their bungalows. The bungalows are basic, clean and have everything you need. They are spacious, have areas for drying suits and boots. Lots of kitchen amenities, with a large fridge freezer and plenty of cupboard space. We were able to enjoy the dinning table to play games and perfect for a quick pasta or noodles to give the kids energy for sledding. The bungalows backed onto a little hill for sledding which the kids and adults loved. Not to be confused with the hill that leads into the main Road though! The food at breakfast and evenings (half board) was great. Plenty of choice and some local twists with a few meals. Soup every night, salad bar, puddings and 3/4 hot main meals. In our party there was something for everyone and we all enjoyed. Kids struggled a bit and those who like their home comforts might find it difficult. It’s a small hotel so not loads of options but we always found something we’d eat. We also once had lunch in the hotel and enjoyed the pizzas and chicken and chips. Set in a lovely remote location. Felt Christmassy and because it’s so north just loads of snow. A proper white Christmas. We went on the frozen lake every night, walked to the fell centre, walked into the town. Everyone was very welcoming, would visit again.

It was very fun and the bus took us to all the things we wanted to see, the pool was cold tho. But that did not matter because the sauna was great. We went to see a lot of things and there is here a skiing place close to the hotel. You can also go shop for groceries but it does take half an hour to get there but the walking is not bad because the nature is beautiful.

We travelled with Tui for 4 nights in December and stayed in a bungalow over the road from the hotel. The bungalow was very warm and clean and adequate as you do not spend very long in them. The only problem was the TV if you want to relax in your own space after an hectic day there are no English channels and only 5 local ones. The WiFi did not work in the bungalows which our grandchildren were upset about, they soon got used to the idea 😀 there was good access in the main building. The meals at the hotel were very good we were half board and could not fault them at all. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Tui reps were amazing. We would definitely return to Hetta.

What a fantastic experience! We stayed for 4 nights at Hetta hotel in bungalow A. The bungalows are located opposite main hotel building. They are spacious, lovely and warm. Nice hot shower, everything needed to self cater if you wish - kettle, toaster, oven, hob, fridge freezer and microwave. Food at the hotel is outstanding, there's always something for the children (e.g. chicken nuggets and chips) and a special diet section too. Water available at meal times or drinks payable at the bar (to give an idea most beers and spirits are around €8 per glass). The staff are fantastic and make the stay extra special. Oli, jinglebobs, dasher dan, gingerbread Gina, Christmas cookie katie - you're all amazing, so hard working, and made our stay so special - thankyou!! Taster sessions are perfect 👌 such a magical day! We did the snowmobile excursion over the lake which was awesome! The village is a 15 min walk there's a supermarket and a few souvenir shops. The sledging slopes are 5 min walk in opposite direction and there's a lovely visitors centre with cafe there to warm up in. We were lucky enough to see the Northern lights twice too, such a fantastic experience we'll never forget! Tips; Take hand and feet warmers on taster day and excursions Take a teatowel No WiFi in bungalow Check board in main hotel for timings daily Register for Northern light sightings by adding your room number to the board (staff will knock on your room to let you know the lights are out up until midnight) Thankyou to everyone at Hetta hotel for giving us family memories which will last forever, wishing you all a very merry Christmas! We want to go back! It was brilliant, magical, fun and amazing. We were in the bungalows opposite the hotel. We used sledges to pull the children (aged 7, 9 and 12) to the bungalows across the road. The bungalows were clean and neat they had everything you required. There was a fridge freezer if you wanted to stock up on items from the supermarket down the road. The bungalows were cleaned daily and new towels and bedding were offered. We were booked in for breakfast and evening meal which we went across to the hotel for. The food was good. The hotel was clean. Staff were very approachable and attentive. The TUI representatives were amazing and entertainment in the evening was suitable for the youngsters. The taster sessions on the day after we arrived were brilliant and we were able to sample the reindeer rides, husky sledges and snowmobiles. This enabled us to choose which activities we wanted to do the following day - we chose huskies and we were not disappointed. Although a little expensive, in our opinion it was well worth it to spend a couple of hours with 204 husky dogs and experience driving a sledge pulled by huskies. We stayed at Hetta Hotel for four nights. When you arrive at Killah airport, the service is amazing; you were directed to a large warehouse where you collect your snow suits, boots and socks then take these to your hotel - if things don’t fit and you need to change them there is the facility to do this at the hotel. You give you snow suits back on the last day that you are at the hotel. All in all it is a well functioning machine and we loved it and would go back in a heartbeat. To top it off on the last night the children met with the real Santa, then we went outside and watched a firework display and saw the Northern Lights - absolutely magical.
