Lapland Hotels Hetta

The hotel has very good breakfast and nice and friendly service. The location is good for Hetta village but the location of Hetta is a little far from everywhere including activities. The view from the hotel is beautiful and there are also charging stations for electric cars with relatively cheap rates.

I think I may just be in love with the landscape but this was one of two hotels that I really enjoyed during my visit to the region. Regarding style, the decor is certainly vintage but not worn out, giving it a real Wes Anderson vibe of pine and carpet. My room had a view over the lake and was nice and spacious. The only fault with my room (101) was a very loud buzzing ***** light over the window but I didn’t use it so it didn’t spoil the stay. The sauna and pool are a great addition, with the sauna operating from 4pm (I seem to remember) and the pool chilly but invigorating. The restaurant buffet was decent at €35 with plenty of options. After the meal, it was great to take a wander back down into the nearby town to burn off the calories.

It was very fun and the bus took us to all the things we wanted to see, the pool was cold tho. But that did not matter because the sauna was great. We went to see a lot of things and there is here a skiing place close to the hotel. You can also go shop for groceries but it does take half an hour to get there but the walking is not bad because the nature is beautiful.

We travelled with Tui for 4 nights in December and stayed in a bungalow over the road from the hotel. The bungalow was very warm and clean and adequate as you do not spend very long in them. The only problem was the TV if you want to relax in your own space after an hectic day there are no English channels and only 5 local ones. The WiFi did not work in the bungalows which our grandchildren were upset about, they soon got used to the idea 😀 there was good access in the main building. The meals at the hotel were very good we were half board and could not fault them at all. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Tui reps were amazing. We would definitely return to Hetta.

I visited this hotel with my 8 year old daughter as part of a TUI Lapland experience. This review focuses just on the hotel, although the overall Tui experience was excellent. The half board food was good. Nice food, good quality and variety. The bar drinks were quite expensive (£8 for a 500ml beer), but that is generally the case in Finland. The hotel was always warm and clean. There's a pool table, sauna and swimming pool. The pool is a cold pool. Freezing in fact, so not suitable for young kids. About 10 minutes walk from the hotel is a supermarket. In a similar distance in the other direction is a ski slope, which was unused at the time I visited, meaning it could be used for sledging. Outside the back of the hotel is a lake, which was frozen over and could be walked on. The room was basic but clean and pleasant. TV, fridge and lots of storage space. WiFi throughout the hotel. Some rooms had saunas in. Getting an apartment with a mini kitchen was also an option. These were over the road from the hotel. Hetta is a small and remote village. It made for a relaxing yet fun Lapland experience. There were only around 35 guests in total for the TUI package, which meant a small and friendly group whose kids played with each other and made friends. The photos are the northern lights from the lake. And the hotel in the distance from across the frozen lake.

What a fantastic experience! We stayed for 4 nights at Hetta hotel in bungalow A. The bungalows are located opposite main hotel building. They are spacious, lovely and warm. Nice hot shower, everything needed to self cater if you wish - kettle, toaster, oven, hob, fridge freezer and microwave. Food at the hotel is outstanding, there's always something for the children (e.g. chicken nuggets and chips) and a special diet section too. Water available at meal times or drinks payable at the bar (to give an idea most beers and spirits are around €8 per glass). The staff are fantastic and make the stay extra special. Oli, jinglebobs, dasher dan, gingerbread Gina, Christmas cookie katie - you're all amazing, so hard working, and made our stay so special - thankyou!! Taster sessions are perfect 👌 such a magical day! We did the snowmobile excursion over the lake which was awesome! The village is a 15 min walk there's a supermarket and a few souvenir shops. The sledging slopes are 5 min walk in opposite direction and there's a lovely visitors centre with cafe there to warm up in. We were lucky enough to see the Northern lights twice too, such a fantastic experience we'll never forget! We want to go back! It was brilliant, magical, fun and amazing. We were in the bungalows opposite the hotel. We used sledges to pull the children (aged 7, 9 and 12) to the bungalows across the road. The bungalows were clean and neat they had everything you required. There was a fridge freezer if you wanted to stock up on items from the supermarket down the road. The bungalows were cleaned daily and new towels and bedding were offered. We were booked in for breakfast and evening meal which we went across to the hotel for. The food was good. The hotel was clean. Staff were very approachable and attentive. The TUI representatives were amazing and entertainment in the evening was suitable for the youngsters. The taster sessions on the day after we arrived were brilliant and we were able to sample the reindeer rides, husky sledges and snowmobiles. This enabled us to choose which activities we wanted to do the following day - we chose huskies and we were not disappointed. Although a little expensive, in our opinion it was well worth it to spend a couple of hours with 204 husky dogs and experience driving a sledge pulled by huskies. We stayed at Hetta Hotel for four nights. When you arrive at Killah airport, the service is amazing; you were directed to a large warehouse where you collect your snow suits, boots and socks then take these to your hotel - if things don’t fit and you need to change them there is the facility to do this at the hotel. You give you snow suits back on the last day that you are at the hotel. All in all it is a well functioning machine and we loved it and would go back in a heartbeat. To top it off on the last night the children met with the real Santa, then we went outside and watched a firework display and saw the Northern Lights - absolutely magical.

We went to Hetta Hotel for a 4 night stay on the 7/12. Travelled as a family 3 children 4 adults. Flight on way out was very good and lots going on for the kids which they loved and got them excited. Arrival at airport and transfer to hotel run very smoothly speaking to hotel reps. The hotel was very remote which we really enjoyed. The staff working in the hotel very friendly. The taster session was run really well and enjoyed by all then with a stop off at the local supermarket and walk back to hotel lovely scenery through the village. The Tiu reps and entertainment team Dasher Dan Jingle Bob Oli Gina and Katie was brilliant a great team always there to help if needed and to have a chat with very helpful and made my children's trip one they will never forget kept them busy with games crafts etc. My children thought they was great especially my youngest son Eden who cried on the flight home as didn't want to leave. Everybody spoke to everyone in the hotel which was really nice all the kids played together never once being told to be quiet etc they was just having fun which is great to see. Overall we all as a family had an amazing time here at hetta hotel a holiday the we will remember for a long time and will definitely be returning in the future.
