Lower Thorton farm a set in idyllic farm location. It’s beautiful surroundings and scenery makes anyone ignore the travel time to the south West. The accommodatio at the property is well attended For and catered by Alison who keeps it meticulously clean . Location is very quiet and peaceful and would entice anyone looking for a good couple of days of getaways into the quiet nature.

I booked the hotel as I needed somewhere to stay en route to south Devon agter collecting my son from a late flight at Bristol airport, so our stay was short, and overall I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. We arrived at 1:15am and there were a few things that could be improved - very tired after a very long day and a late drive, I found the instructions to find our room qyite confusing. On the paper with instructions it had the building names, but in the dark you can't see these, so it took us some trial and error to find our room. The room itself was clean and comfortable (albeit very warm and needing the window opening), as was the bathroom. My biggest concern was that I saw there was a kettle, but after searching numerous places I couldn't find a cup or glass to have some water to take my nighttime supplements, or to have something to drink in the night (I had to return to the car to get my water bottle). At receptionnin the morning I asked if there should be glasses or cups on the room, but the receptionist didn't seem to think there would be, whcih i found a bit odd. It was only on returning to my room and reading the welcome folder that I saw mention of a drawer where I'd find tea cups etc. Then sure enough I saw it marked clearly and found it. This was my mistake of course, however I would suggest that, baring in mind some travellers arrive late at night and basically want to roll into bed on arrival, it would be helpful to have some glasses or something left visible, so that clients don't have to search for them when they can barely keep their eyes open! Other than this though, I found our stay to be very pleasant, and I was impressed that the cooked breakfast was made to order, fresh and hot. Overall a good stay, just a few things that could be improved to make it easier for those arriving outside if reception opening times.

The location and friendly,helpful staff were excellent.The food quality was as good as the most expensive restaurants we have dined at. The price of the food was less than charged by many other restaurants. Well done The Globe,we will return.

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the scenery outside the window was very good. Some facilities such as a kettle have more scale, but it is also an understandable place. It will be very quiet at night overall, but it depends on whether the person living next door speaks loudly, otherwise you will clearly hear the noise of the human voice and have difficulty sleeping. This is also the only unsatisfactory point for me is the poor sound insulation. The restaurant in this hotel is very good, the breakfast is quite rich and the toast is very delicious. I believe this is one of the reasons I will choose to stay here. I hope to continue to maintain the advantages and try to improve the sound insulation problem, thank you.

Great location, only 5 minutes walk from Exeter St David's train station. I've only stayed for one night due to business travelling. The breakfast variety and service experience was great, a good variety of refreshments. The building itself shows its age, and my floor was very squeaky, I hope there were no tenants below me! I've opted on with the shared bathroom option and the bathroom was sparkling clean. Overall great place!

The hotel is in a lovely location, surrounded by beautiful Devon countryside, I wish I'd had more time as there is some lovely walks from the hotel. My room and bathroom were spacious and clean, just a few cobwebs here and there which can easily happen at this time of year. My car was full of my son's university stuff, but because of the location I wasn't worried about leaving it in the hotel car park - I wouldn't have been able to do that in a city centre hotel. This is the second time I've stayed in this hotel for a Exeter Uni drop off and would recommend it, a comfortable, countryside stay at a good price around 20 minutes from the city. The lanes can be narrow in places but that is the case in most of Devon.

As usual with my frequent visit to this area I find Woodbury Park hotel has been my preferred place to stay. Staff are lovely kind and helpful. It’s a beautiful hotel satin a very picturesque location surrounded by pleasant scenery. Hotels and rooms are very clean and well attended to. Restaurant services are clean and impeccable. Credit goes to the chefs and the team who managed the service. I have had a pleasant breakfast service during my stay at Woodbury. I hope the staff and the team at Woodbury keep up the good work and encourage us to use them during my future trips to the area.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Gissons Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for. The room was spotless, stylish, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The ample on-site parking was a huge plus, making our arrival and daily outings completely hassle-free. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a relaxing and well-managed stay.

The service is not good, the staff is very impatient. The lobby and other public areas are closed at 11 o'clock, and friends are not allowed to use them even if they need to make a conference call, so the telephones in the corridor and the room will affect other guests. The heating is not turned on at night, and it is not turned on after complaints. The English breakfast set is OK. The restaurant also closes on time at 9:30.

Really friendly staff very welcoming I got an upgrade on my room the beer was cheap could of got breakfast for £10 but thought I'd be going to early it was served from 8.30pm
