Sands is a great hotel. The food is amazing, the rooms clean and comfortable but what sets Sands aside are the staff. They are genuinely friendly and can't do enough to help. Special shout out to Krishna, Sudesh, Ivans & Jonathan, but thank you to everyone else whose names we can't remember or didn't get. Thank you for welcoming us to Mauritius and making our stay so memorable.

We loved every minute of our stay at Sands, from the moment we arrived when we were greeted with a drink and a cooling towel to being waved off by the wonderful staff at this resort. The location is just wonderful, the shade cast by the palm trees, the gorgeous infinity pool and the proximity to the beautiful, safe, private beach. Our room was very comfortable with its huge bed , sitting area, lovely shaded veranda and the very spacious bathroom with bath, shower and dressing area. It was just a 1 minute walk to the bar, restaurant, gym, pool and even less time to the lovely sandy beach. Housekeeping was excellent, bringing fresh bottles of water morning and evening and a little treat of glasses of rum and snacks in the afternoon. The real jewel in the crown of this hotel are the staff, far too numerous to mention by name. They go out of their way to help with anything and everything, always friendly, always polite. A special mention for the two wonderful ladies cooking the eggs every morning - the loveliest, friendliest people you could hope to meet. The buffet food at dinner was very good indeed with a different theme every evening. We also at the Spices restaurant which was excellent. We did try the food at the Pink peppercorn and were not quite so impressed by that. So many activities to try out at Sands too and many of them at no charge. We tried out the glass-bottomed boat trip with a little visit to see the dolphins too, the paddleboards, pedalos and sea kayaking. All brilliant fun. I would have no hesitation in recommending this resort hotel.

Overall: 4*, fantastic place and amazing staff, but I had to mark it down due to water/wine markup/prices, with a subdued a**osphere at night, along with hit and miss entertainment. Summary: Accommodation and location: 5* ( our garden room was large, with a brilliant view of the Bay through the palm trees) Staff: 5* Facilities: 5* Food:4.5* ( the tuna is exceptional) Entertainment: 3.5* ( Dixie band, sega dancing and singing and the violinist were amazing, the rest was very average) Wine prices: 1* ( min about £60/bottle for red, buy similar wine at the supermarket for £10) Water price: 1* ( charged £2.50-£3.50/l for basic filtered or plastic bottled ) Other bar drink prices: 3.5* Tip: Check the restaurant and bar menus and prices before you go. it's on the hotel's website. If ok for you, then this is an amazing place to stay.

I was on vacation with my mom. The hotel is rather small which makes it very comfortable. The pool and see are so beautiful, very relaxing a**osphere. I have never experienced such caring staff - it was really outstanding. I want to mention especially Jonathan (best Aquagym ever - so much fun!! and thanks again for the pool lessons!) and Neha the most caring waitress in the bar. Thanks for making our vacation so special and wonderful!

Our room on the garden floor of the hotel, surrounded by natural vegetation and life, was wonderful. House keeping was cleaned the room both in the morning and in the evening. Luxury products were used in the bathroom. We had a large, comfortable room with a sea view. The staff were friendly, helpful and very kind. The food was great. The staff were all very nice but the hard-working and kind Arshwin in the restaurant and Ruby who helped on the beach were really good staff. Your expectations and perceptions are shaped by how you plan your holiday. We made a reservation thinking that the sea would be very nice. But unfortunately the sea was too shallow for swimming. Even the sea of the public beach, which was only 4 minutes away by car, was better. I can say that everything was great except the sea. Drone shooting is not allowed in the hotel at any time or any area.

Very very nice Hotel with beautiful decoration and a breathtaking view over the swimming pool and the sea. The beach is huge, you can be alone if you want by walking a little away from the hotel. The water is like a bath. The room is huge and extremely comfortable with very refined decoration and a beautiful view. The Staff is very nice, everyone is so polite and smiling. Jonhatan took us for a nice bike ride around the area, he also provides very dynamic aquagym every morning. The hotel boat takes you for snorkeling in the morning and relaxing sailing in the afternoon. You can see the dolfins about 500 meters away from your breakfast table, which is magic. The tennis courts are great in the middle of palm trees. The food is excellent. On the less positive points, although very few : snorkeling on site is a little disappointing but this is unfortunatelly the foot-print of tourism... Walking from the hotel to Flic and Flac center is not so easy because of very few side-walks and cars go quite fast (but you can walk by the beach or take a taxi). Very quiet hotel in the evening so not ideal if you are looking for a lot of excitement. We really enjoyed our stay !

I only have lovely things to say about this resort. Staff are amazing and very polite and always happy to help you .Renuka from the spa has magic hands and Selven (restaurant manager ) always greeting you happily and trying to please you. 10 out of 10 this hotel.The view is absolutely breathtaking ,very good food( every night different buffet) and the room are beautiful , very spacious and clean. Definitely will be going back as i never wanted to leave in the first place . They also have the private beach (best view with the mountains )only for the hotel guest and there is space for everyone and does not feel crowed even when fully booked.

From the time you step into this hotel to the time you leave a smile and chat is always on hand. The Manager and staff work tirelessly to make your holiday wonderful,and it certainly was. Special mention for the Restaurant Manager where we had our Lobster Extravangansa yesterday...amazing service and food....very special. A few tips...would be good to have yoga on the decking every morning...aqua is great but need some variety. Please let there be icecream for a sweet as well as the cakes for deserts... .we did ask and were given some but would be great to just rock up and serve ourselves. All in all a great holiday....

Last day in Paradise after spending 2 weeks at this absolutely fantastic resort. We could not fault a thing location perfect, food great & varied , rooms large, very spacious , beds, pillows really comfortable, plenty of watersport activities to do with no extra cost and last but not least the fabulous staff they're just amazing & treat you like Royalty. I would like to give a special mention to Sandy, Clarrel, Selven , Ruddy, Neha, Sheela from the cleaning for decorating our room for our Anniversary & when we arrived, Ashley & also Sunny from reception who even transferred some of our photos for us from a stick as we had trouble doing it. Just one little minor quibble is having to pay for your water. Other than that , the whole holiday was perfect 👌 Thank you ❤️
