At one time I wrote reviews on a regular basis, Kind of got away from it, figured that I didn't need to share my views with anyone...but I feel I need to warn others...steer clear. After booking in early May, I realized we were going to be on the ground floor of the hotel, I called and we were switched to a cabin (as we always somehow seem to have an elephant over us when we are on a lower level). Upon checking in, I failed to verify that the rate had been changed. $50 less per night. Fast forward to the accommodation itself. Tiny isn't a big enough word. Knowing there was no fridge or coffee maker, I shouldn't have been surprised there was no table to even play cards if we wanted since there's also no TV. Which was fine...but no table because there's absolutley no room for one. Placing my cosmetic bag under the sink ( which is in the main room, not in the bathroom) I did see a hair dryer off to the side. I noticed the carpet under my feet was quite wet. I thought it must have been from housekeeping, perhaps they spilled a cleaning bucket? while cleaning....?? No, there was a leak under the sink getting our travel bags wet. I dried it with a towel, still thinking it was a one and done situation, but it wasn't. Upon retiring, shutting the windows, we discovered one window, a smaller one, would not shut AT ALL, You could push as hard as you could, but it couldn't be latched/locked because you couldn't get it that far, as it was possessed and would slide back open. So we had fresh air all night long... Come morning, we walked to the main building, grabbed coffee from a vending machine (which was pretty good) and reported the window and the leak. Returned, showered (inside the shower, no where to place your shampoo or soap, just the floor) only to discover that the hairdryer...a wall mount hair dryer...was intact under the counter...meaning, the WHOLE UNIT, cord, plug, with the holder that should be on the wall....was all together with the rusty drywall screws sticking out of it. It appeared that while the room was recently painted, they decided to hang a towel ring where the hairdryer had once been mounted, next to the plug, and simply put the whole thing under the counter. Beds seemed smaller than queens, towels were soft, toilet seat on crooked... Checking out, the agent seemed confused on how to adjust our final bill. He indicated that we would receive a reduced rate for all our issues, (as the agent there the day before had said she'd see to a discount) She was no where to be found. Upon arriving home, we checked our credit card statement, then starting doing the math...we did not get the entire difference refunded, nor any other discount as promised. Have attempted reaching them by phone for the better half of the afternoon, to get a recording stating the will be right with us, then, another recording stating to press "1" to return to the menu, and then after the third time...we get disconnected. These people just can't get it together. I le

I’ve eaten at the counter twice this year. My breakfast was very tasty. It took too long (40 minutes) and was cold. Nice young waiter and great customer service in the gift shop. I love Jacob Lake Inn. I’ve been returning for over 30 years. Please get a heat lamp.

A clean room with an updated bathroom and new carpet. A comfy bed and decent AC. My wife hated the nightstands, but I liked them quite a bit. Somehow we're still together. The dresser with a broken drawer could be tossed. The shower had nice hot water, but the water stream definitely helped clean your scalp with the pressure. The internet is slow, but then you're in the middle of nowhere, so be happy you have internet. There isn't a microwave, mini-fridge, nor breakfast, or other amenities, but it's priced accordingly too. An low hum next door for room #103, but not enough to disrupt sleep. While the front desk lady wasn't unkind, she definitely forgot how to smile. Maybe it was my bald head. The stars were incredible, but no milky way with the moon. Hopefully you have better luck. Overall a good choice for a place to stay.

We were looking for a place to stay that was near Coyote Buttes South for our hike to Cottonwood Cove the next morning. To that end, Jacob Lake Inn was fine. The “hotel” room was clean and comfortable and the A/C unit was quiet and efficient. I knew there was no coffee maker in the room, so I brought my own. There was also no mini-fridge which would’ve been nice. There was a smoke alarm base in the ceiling but no smoke alarm. The multi-purpose toilet paper not only cleans your bum, it also can remove warts, polyps, and dermatitis lesions.

It’s an old Dump building, the toilet was very loose on the floor mounting, water sprays at your feet when you flush, no heater working, No t.v, Built in the 60’s, not recommended by no means. Will not stay there again. Nor recommend my family or friends to stay there.

A friend and I recently stayed in a lodge room at Jacob Lake Inn for one night and were very happy staying there. It was a good location while visiting the north rim, although a little farther than we had anticipated. The room and bed were very comfortable. But what we really enjoyed were the very friendly people working there and the food at the restaurant. I would make one suggestion, which is the same as what another traveler wrote. It would be nice if they had coffee makers in the room or served at least coffee early for early risers who want to get on the road before 7 AM.

The best part of my stay was the delightful young man who checked us in, very friendly and welcoming. The room smelled very musty and was outdated however it was clean and comfortable. Had a chain on the door but no latch for it! No amenities for when restaurant is closed. No coffee available for early risers. Way overpriced.

No coffee pot in room. No hair dryer and room. Towels were yellow from just being used so much. And pathway from Motel to Cafe cluttered
