The Reserve - the Leading Hotels of the World - Savoy Signature

Everything was wonderful from start to finish. A beautiful hotel; a staff that is ready to help at any time; the most polite staff at any hotel I have been to; beautiful comfy rooms; great facilities for all of your desires. I would come back here in a heart beat!

My wife and I spent 5 days and 4 nights as guests of The Reserve. Something I was not aware prior to arrival but now understand, is the incredibly hospitable and esteemed delivery of services. The Reserve is a newly branded service of the Savoy venue in Funchal. As a Reserve guest you enjoy all of the benefits of the Royal Savoy and Savoy Palace as well as elevated Reserve guest amenities. We spared no cost and believe the value we experienced was reciprocal to what we payed. We utilized Reserve airport transfers to and from to include the Rolls Royce. Furthermore you have a dedicated elevator, dedicated breakfast and dedicated pools on top of the Royal Savoy. You have full access to the top spa ‘s in the world. There were times we felt like we were on a private island as you are pampered and presented with many extras . We utilized the GEPA app to make dinner reservation’s, order room service and ask any little question. Everything was thought of prior to your arrival. They called you by name and met you with a smile at every turn. The Spa and infinity pool were outstanding as well as all meals to include breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every morning and night we were delivered to our room something unexpected and welcomed. The staff is commendable for their professionalism and their respect for each other. If I must add a very slight criticism it would be the balcony pool. Like all pools and jacuzzi in Portugal, they are not heated. The balcony pool was never utilized and is a priced premium of the stay. However, I had no problem with the extra cost with the incredible views that accompany the balcony. Because of the Private Reserve pool, the spa pool and the Savoy beach access, an extra pool was not needed. This is a 5 Star resort that is “Reserved” for those who want to be treated like royalty!

The Reserve is an exquisite experience even for the most discerning travelers. The Savoy Signature holds up to the high standards of service and attention to detail, and the Reserve takes it even a few notches higher. We loved every bit of our week long vacation - from the room service to the personalized breakfast, infinity pool and the unending ocean views from the deck and every single part of our suite. We are not easy to please as a family with a 3 year old toddler, and this experience deserves a full 5 STARS !

Everything is perfect about this wonderful hotel. This was our second visit and we loved it just as much as our first visit. The greeting at the airport, transfer in a Rolls Royce, the same suite, seeing old friends at breakfast and the Guest Experience service all combine to make a perfect holiday. And the bed is one of the most comfortable we have ever had in a hotel. We will be back! We had our wedding anniversary while there and were surprised with rose petals and sparkling wine - a lovely touch.

This hotel is perfect in every way, tranquil with incredible service & nothing is too much trouble, suites are superb & the rooftop pool is amazing. every member of staff we encountered was superb. We will definately return to both Funchal (which is beautiful) and this hotel

Staying at the Reserve was the most grand experience I've ever had while vacationing. I went away with my girlfriend and they made every moment incredibly special, from the romantic surprise with chocolates, champagne and Roses to the sensual bubble bath. The staff was so attentive and on top of all of our needs before we even knew we had them. Love this hotel and the access that was afforded to us. So many experiences and hidden gems all over the estate. Highly recommend and will be returning asap.

We stayed here for 6 days in August and this really was the best hotel experience we have ever had. We were greeted by our Guest Experience Personal Assistant Zita and from there on she and the rest of the staff at The Reserve really looked after us and made sure we had a good time. A huge thank you to you all, and we all look forward to going back again. What we loved about the hotel was the personalised service, and the incredible attention to detail that the team went to. For example, all 4 of us had books that we were reading during the trip. The housekeeper gave us bookmarks for them instead of us having to use bits of receipts. They also tidied up little things like our charging cables and wet swimsuits, and the evening fruit platters were just amazing. They made up our children’s sofa bed every evening to give us maximum amount of space during the day. Our children loved the way their toys were rearranged every evening too - it brought a smile to our faces every time we got back to the room. Zita our GEPA, greeted us with a smile every morning as we made our way to breakfast and arranged our meal bookings, taking careful note of our specific dietary requirements. She also made sure I had a coffee and pastry to take away one morning when I had to leave the hotel early to get some admin done in Funchal. The staff at Jacaranda Club were amazing too, providing us with the best breakfast ever, catering to specific requests we had (extra spinach, no gluten, no sugar etc). They also gave us pastries to take for the airport, which ended up being our dinner as we were at the airport for 10 hours before our flight was cancelled. Around the hotel, we loved the infinity pool and the attentiveness of the staff who brought us water and fruit. The spa access was much needed while our children enjoyed the pool. We ate at Nikkei twice, Pau de Lume and Terreiro. Again excellent service, although it would be great if they could develop more gluten free options in the future. Finally, a massive thank you to The Reserve for arranging guest assistance for us at the airport. They whisked us through security and passport control to an air conditioned VIP room with refreshments. After being in the queue for 2 hours for checking in, we really needed that. As someone I met at the spa said to me: this won’t be our last trip to Madeira. I certainly hope not! And I’d definitely want to stay at The Reserve again!

Wow sums it up in a single word. Wow to the facilities, room, pools, custom tours, airport transfer, restaurants, bars, and the biggest wow for the ultimate in service provided by all staff. What a treat to be treated this way. Our family will certainly be back!

Firstly this a fantastic hotel to go with the fantastic Island. The Reserve service was impeccable and the staff really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The Savoy Palace is a really lovely hotel and so well located, with a lovely area of bars and restaurants on your doorstep. The Spa is really nice and free entry into it is a nice touch for Reserve guests. The private top floor pool area was magical lovely pool and panoramic views across the port. If I could suggest any improvement it would be the lack of atmosphere in the Jacaranda Lounge, I think charging for coffee, beverages in here is unusual in a premium lounge, normally these are complimentary in all other upgraded lounges I’ve stayed in, London, Dubai, Etc… This is not being mean it just gets people in there and brings an atmosphere to the place. But having had such a great time in the Reserve ( Savoy Palace) we will definitely return. Breakfast staff were lovely, especially Sonia who always had a smile and loved to chat with us.
