Porlamar

The room is terrible. Patio door can't be locked and anyone either at the apartments or outside can access it. The lady at reception could not be anymore unhelpful if she tried. They simply refuse to change the room for us. TUI will not help in any way

Worst accommodation I have ever stayed in dirty tiny rooms for a family of 4 needs revamp lights not working in room curtains on bedroom instead of a door wasp next on balcony ant no air con staff not helpful apart from the bar man he fab and can’t do enough for you Ended up leaving and paying for apartment some where else was soo bad

We booked for 11 nights at Porlamar Apartment very run down & when we walked in it smelt very musky ,bedsheets were dirty with some stains on the them bed was very low & pillows had yellow marks on them . Bathroom very grubby dirty towels had a stale smell to them like dirty water ,bath was dirty shower curtain had something that looked like blood on them . No coffee pot only coffee lid one socket in kitchen area. Balcony was large & had two sun loungers small table & two chairs that were very old & worn out broken .The balcony had a flower box along it which was full of cigarettes & rubbish .The lock on balcony door didn’t lock anyone could get in .Not much sun on the balcony . As you look from the balcony the view is of a big pile of rubbish . So we ask the manager if we could get a different apartment we said happy to pay extra . The lady manger said we could a different room but as this wasn’t much different to what we had we declined it for this reason . We got in touch with tui on app after a lot of messaging back & forth on our fourth day being there we were told they had four apartments we could look at & to go to reception & they would let s see them but once at reception we were told we could only look at apartments if we took our negative review off trip advisor & put up a nice one we end up leaving as we felt very threatened & unsafe .

Can’t fault the staff at the apartments, found that they were generally helpful. All apartments have sunloungers and umbrellas, which was just as well as it was difficult to get one by the small pool and we often had to wait until later in the day to get one as many were reserved early morning. The pool bar was reasonably priced and the barman was particularly cheerful. The apartments were in our favourite location, near the marina, within easy reach of some really nice restaurants. Be prepared to pay lots of extras including fan hire, which was really needed as without air con the room was stifling. The cost of £6 per day or £18 per week for really slow Wi-Fi which was not available in all areas and could only be used on one device was an overpriced waste of money. The apartments are very tired and poorly equipped, having only one socket in kitchen area meaning you couldn’t have toaster and kettle on at same time. Beds were hard and with only one thin pillow each, although I did ask for extra pillows which never arrived. They were reasonably clean having maid service 5 days out of the 7. We were able to keep our room, due to our late return flight, for a reasonable cost, which was a real bonus. Would I return? No! But that is not a reflection on the staff just that I would rather pay a little more for somewhere less basic.

Since we had a later booking the only available hotel was Porlamar. The hotel isn’t very modernized and the rooms in third floor was poor. Our first night with several brown friends around the floors. Later we found ants in the bathroom and kitchen. This was the same problem for 14 days. The only positive thing was the poolbar and the guy’s who runs it. Fabulous guy👍

Basic but all you need for a budget holiday. Pros. 1.Not as high as some and steps through the park to main street and some of the best restaurants in pr. 2. Spotless clean. Cleaned everyday if you wish except Sunday. 3 days of fresh towels. Daily supply of toilet paper. 3. Good hob and the accessories you need. Large fridge and small freezer. Ice tray supplied as well. 4. Staff so friendly and let me practice my Spanish. Receptionist actually gave me the directions in both English and Spanish which I loved. 5. Small but clean swimming pool. Easy access to the pool 6. Never used the pool bar as we went out and about. From other guest got great reviews of food, drinks and staff. 7. Near the harbour and stunning views 8. Sunloungers on the huge balcony. Really loved that. 9. Nice and quiet mainly adults only. 10. Taxis cheap to get into centre but it is walkable Cons 1. No air conditioning ( can hire a fan) 2. No hairdryer 3. Depending on where your apartment is . Can be alot of steep steps to main street. 4. Not that I used the sun loungers by the pool but they were low in supply . Think a bit of "sunbeds war" 5. An advantage to us but not really suitable for children

Booked this last minute through TUI so wasn't expecting much especially as solo travelers seem to be given the worst of accommodation, how wrong was I! Yes accommodation is basic but lovely balcony that got the sun most of the day and had sunbeds so avoided any sunbed wars by the pool. Staff were lovely and a little shop on site where you can buy essentials. Only thing I would say that needs to be more transparent is the amount of steps you need to use to go to the surrounding area as this could be a problem for people with mobility issues. I ended up wishing I'd gone for 2 weeks rather than just a week

A lovely apartment with views of the harbour. We had our own sun beds and chairs on a huge balcony that had the sun all day. It was 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 minutes to huge shopping centre. Or 1.4 euros on the bus and 5 euros in a taxi. It is hilly and there is no lift but the receptionist carried our luggage to our room which was nice. All of the staff were extremely helpful and for a small fee they let us stay in our apartment until the transfer to the airport

Look past the ants in the kitchen and bathroom in one out of four rooms, overall a pleasant visit. Lack of kitchen supplies and no aircon, no daily cleaning, but definitely worth the low price. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel cafe works really well, nice and timely food, ok prices too. It’s a fairly quiet area, most guests are elderly or couples with kids. The walls are thin, you can hear everything around you, including every word from your neighbours - bring earplugs! Overall a great vacation for a family of 7, 5 adults and 2 teens.
