"It was a 32-degree sauna day in Suining, and I was sweating in the hotel room. I called the front desk three times. The first time, the front desk agent said the hotel wasn't running AC, just the fresh air system, and offered to send a fan. I said okay. The fan arrived, but it was still hot and stuffy. I called the front desk a second time, explaining it was still uncomfortably hot. After checking, the front desk agent called back to say the manager approved turning on the air conditioning. I went out for two hours and returned to the hotel, expecting a cool, refreshing room. Instead, I was hit with a blast of hot air. I made my third call to the front desk, and they said they'd send engineering to take a look. The engineer was quite amusing. The moment he walked in, he said the window was open, which was why it wasn't cool. I told him to close it, but clarified that I hadn't opened it myself – even though it only opens a crack, you need their tools to do it. The engineer retorted that anyone could open it, implying I had. Fine, whatever you say. But then, the engineer measured the air vent and found the temperature was still high. He then climbed a ladder and spent ages fumbling around in the bathroom ceiling's inspection panel, mumbling something about a component being out of power, hence no cold air. Thankfully, after he fiddled with it, the room slowly started to cool down. This whole ordeal took four hours, and the hotel didn't offer a single apology. It was quite an experience, using a portable fan in a five-star hotel room."

In Suining, we chose the Vicville Tangyue Hotel (Suining Wanda Plaza Branch), and booked a double room. Frankly, this was the most disappointing hotel we stayed at. All the following statements and photos are true, and we hope the hotel will learn from this experience. The hotel's public areas were nicely decorated and new. Upon checking in and entering our room, we found the window open. We understood they said it was for ventilation, but the screen wasn't closed. Already worried about mosquito bites, we complained to the front desk. After dinner, around 9 PM, we returned to our room, and the front desk staff brought a gift box (of local specialties) to apologize for leaving the window open with the screen, which we accepted. At 10:30 PM, when we were about to go to bed, we discovered the bed next to the bathroom was a rocking bed, creaking and making it impossible to fall asleep. I could only tell the front desk, but I was surprised to find that their phone number was different from other hotels. None of the buttons worked; I had to dial 8888, not just press the on-screen instructions (which would have been perfect if the front desk had told us to call 8888 during check-in). My husband had to go downstairs and get a front desk staff member. After inspecting the bed for a while, they found it was uneven between the bed and the floor. The staff member then called another employee, who used cardboard boxes as pads to adjust the bed's position. I asked to change rooms, but the staff said there were no rooms available and they could only continue fixing the creaking bed. After all this trouble, we didn't get to sleep until 11 pm. I even asked why no other guests had complained about the creaking bed. The staff said no one had reported it (I was speechless). I woke up in the middle of the night because the room didn't have air conditioning (they said there was no cooling system, only ventilation), and I was covered in sweat. I got up, changed clothes, and went back to sleep. We set off again early the next morning, exhausted from our journey and just wanting a good rest. This experience was truly unpleasant. When we checked out in the morning, the staff didn't offer any apology for what happened the night before, which is very rare in my decades of travel experience. I wrote this review very carefully today. It's not nitpicking, but rather a factual assessment. I hope the hotel can strengthen its detailed management and improve both its hardware and software to enhance the travel experience for its customers."

The hot water was plentiful, perfect for washing away travel fatigue. Downstairs, there are local snacks, and it's quiet at night. Disadvantages: The faucet for washing hands is too high, and the aerator is not easy to use. When washing your face, water is everywhere, and the water flooding needs to be improved. All the staff here are really helpful and always provide extra miles service that even 5 star hotel is not able to compete! This really amazed me! The hotel location is located at the area that really happening there it may caused some noise in morning due to traffics but this is not going to stop me to stay here in future if I return here. Big claps to the team at reception, housekeeping, the lady who assisted me to bring my laundry to 3rd floor and the staff at the restaurant! Everyone here deserved a best rating!
