Internet/Phone ReceptionWe have the fastest internet our location allows, which is typically plenty of bandwidth to support streaming and working from home. But with that said, the bandwidth can vary a bit which unfortunately is out of our control. We have never had an issue streaming though. Cell service varies by carrier. AT&T is by far the strongest (5G) but Verizon does work too. Winter ConditionsWinter in the Rockies last a bit longer and the weather can change very quickly. We do require guests to have a FWD or AWD vehicle that can handle snow Oct-May and suggest it all other times as well. The roads leading to the cabin are paved and plowed until about 100 ft before the cabin. We do our best to keep our driveway clear of snow, but it's not always possible. We do not provide refunds for cancellation due to weather and driving conditions. Light shoveling of the path leading up to the home may be required including the patio during winter months. FiresCharcoal grills and outdoor wood fires are ALWAYS strictly prohibited. Any evidence of such will result in a large fine and possible jail time. We have provided an outdoor gas grill and firepit for your use. The firewood is only to be burned indoors inside the sealed wood fired stove. Eco-FriendlyWe want to preserve the planet and all the beautiful spots in the world just like this so we do our best to have eco-friendly practices whenever possible. The office has a sofa bed with a half bath next to it so you can use it as an optional bedroom. The Large wrap around deck allows you to comfortably enjoy the wildlife. Deer love our property. We have a young buck that makes his bed under our deck. Beyond the grove of pines is a meadow with a seasonal stream that our property backs up to. Each room is expansive and can easily accommodate extra air mattresses for additional people per room. The large kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals. We provide complimentary tea and coffee. There is no picture that can really capture the beauty of this incredible stay. The cabin is on top of an amazing rock wall. The hot tub is set privately and in the perfect spot to see a full-spread view of Pikes Peak. The lot is filled with large boulders and a forest of pine and aspen trees. You can cozy up next to the fireplace or enjoy a fresh cup of coffee on the porch looking out at the valleys and mountains. This newly renovated cabin will not disappoint.The cabin opens up to a large living room set with a new cozy couch, smart tv, and fireplace. Firewood is provided for your stay with us. There are games and blankets to help you come in and relax. The living room opens up to the kitchen which has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and everything you need to cook a meal. The kitchen directly opens up to the back porch set with Adirondack chairs and a grill, from the back porch you walk down the stairs to the hot tub. The hot tub is set out in the yard a bit to allow for better views of the mountains and the bright stars at night. Back inside the cabin, you will find the two bedrooms right next to each other, one has a king bed and the other a queen bed with a washer and dryer in the closet. The bathroom is right off down the hall from the bedrooms. This hidden gem is perfect for your next trip!We are operating in Park County under permit 24-0219-01You’ll have access to the surrounding woods to explore and gather wood (for the indoor wood-burning stove). The property has frisbee golf, a picnic table, and a bench all set in perfect view of the mountains and valleys.Important (Please Read)!We do NOT accept check in or check out on holidays.Absolutely NO open fires are allowed. The risk of wildfire for the area is too high. You will be asked to leave immediately if there is any fire activity.PetsWe will allow dogs who qualify. There is an additional fee for bringing a pet to cover the cleaners’ extra time to keep the space fresh for future guests.The roads require AWD or 4WD for November through April (however it can snow in October and in May!). It is very rare in our county to have one installed in a house (even brand-new builds!). The nights are cool in the summer so to cool the house off you can open all the windows and doors, then close them during the day and you stay nice and cool! There are fans provided to help blow the cool air through the cabin.We are at 9,000 feet in elevation — altitude sickness can occur but you can do things to prevent it and alleviate symptoms including: Taking a day to rest when you arrive. Drink extra water and stay well hydrated (avoiding alcohol will help). (The tap water is from natural spring water and is delicious and safe to drink.) Wear sunscreen, even when it is cool or cloudy.This house is in a neighborhood.
