We live not too far away but stayed recently for a little getaway. The location is especially nice, only a block away from Half Moon Bay's downtown district, where we spent hours exploring the little shops and art galleries. Lots of restaurants downtown, too, we ate at a different place for every meal without ever needing to drive. The place itself was clean well kept-up and the staff were great, everything you'd expect from a small-town inn. There were too many nearby places we wanted to eat at (Johnny's, just down the street, was amazing), so we didn't try the breakfast.

First, zero hospitality, checking in consisted of talking to someone on your phone that directed you to your room. Second the room was very stuffy to the point of being uncomfortable. The only window was near the shower (which was also in the bedroom). Also the tv was on a desk and was below sight level of the bed frame. Also the advertised breakfast hours were not on offer so we left without. finally did fall asleep at 4 am but we had to get up at 7:30. Very disappointing

Booked the Light Ship room solely based on the website photo of what almost appear to be vineyards as vista through corner windows (photo attached). Actual view = parking lot and dense neighboring buildings. Wow I am mad. Breakfast was mailed in subpar...bland scrambled eggs, white bread toast and here's a bowl of fruit. Wine happy hour was nice touch and personnel very amiable.

Wonderful location to walk downtown, to the coastal trail with easy access to Hwy 1. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We were a party of 3 with separate rooms. Each different and charming. Nice amenities in the rooms. Nice breakfast. Nice outdoor seating in courtyard. Request 1st floor if you can’t manage luggage on the stairs. Front rooms pick up a bit of street noise if the windows are open - lovely breeze! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Enjoy!

So Charming! My husband and I just stayed at the Nantucket Whale Inn for two nights and had a lovely stay. I was worried it’d be too hot because our room didn’t have air conditioning, but the temperature was perfectly cool and with the window open, the smell of the fresh California air was so nice. The cleanliness, location, complimentary breakfast, fresh flowers, wine hour and the outside patio area were wonderful. The only improvements would be to have more durable shower curtains because water was getting everywhere in the bathroom and explicitly state that guests need to request daily housekeeping. Overall, we had a positive experience and would stay there again!

My husband and I checked in for two nights. We loved our room. Spacious, and bright. We had a fireplace which made it very cozy. Our room faced a lovely garden with all kinds of beautiful flowers. The inn is beautiful inside and out. It is kept spotless. The hot breakfasts were delicious. We enjoyed breakfasts and evening wine in the outside patio. We look forward to coming back soon!

This was a fantastic b&b. The room was spotless, spacious and super clean. It had everything you could possibly want with thoughtful details. The staff was wonderful in every way. So accommodating, genuine and sweet. They left beverages and cookies out during the day and offered a lovely complete warm breakfast served also with a delicious yogurt parfait. The gardens were lovely and the outdoor area was perfect. The location was right on Main Street and close to everything! Wishing my way back there soon!

This place was quaint and comfortable, with everything we needed and more. We checked in with Suzie for two nights, found the wine bar stocked, and enjoyed exploring the Inn and the town. We could walk to just about anywhere. The breakfasts were good but basic (no complaints from me here): yogurt with fruit and granola, scrambled egg, English muffin, two sausage, O), coffee, etc. on Saturday; fruit, pancakes, bacon, coffee, etc. on Sunday. We met some fellow travelers and had good table conversations... All in all, it was a very nice stay.

We stayed one night in the room opposite the beverage counter. The home is beautiful both inside and out with a lovely deck, sitting room, large dining table and a beverage center with wine in the evening and coffee and tea 24/7. Our room was bright , comfortable and beautifully decorated with very nice bedding. The bathroom was spacious with a large shower and very nice products but could use some additional light. Breakfast was delicious (juice, bacon, pancakes, yogurt with fruit), and we really appreciated having it at 8:30 as we had an appointment that morning. The staff we encountered checking in and at breakfast were pleasant and helpful. We’d love to come back.
