Hotel Central Hamburg

i really appreciated it was very close to the bus/train hub ! the staff always ensured to keep my room nice and clean whenever i was away as well :))

Fantastic location with very friendly and attentive staff. The beds were comfortable,. particularly the sofa bed which is unusual for a hotel! Really conveniently located for all transport links and noise from the station is minimal with the windows closed. Water pressure from the shower is superb and we were grateful for the bath since our 4 year old prefers that to a shower, it filled up quickly and the water actually heated up faster than our bath at home! The breakfast was amazing, good value for money and a good selection of hot and cold food available, it was a real treat getting to have banana chips for breakfast and the coffee was outstanding - I particularly loved that they provided coffee flavouring syrups. WiFi signal is strong enough to stream Netflix. The hotel was fantastically accommodating when we asked for a room at the front so that my son could see the ICE trains at the station. (This was the purpose of our visit as they're his favourite train and the location didn't disappoint!) Just a couple of small points to note: There is no kettle and fridge in the room - I don't know how I missed this at booking as to be honest, I wouldn't have booked the room if I'd known that, given that my son likes fresh milk before bed and the restaurant part is only open for breakfast. It would have been nice to have tea in the afternoons on arrival back from being out for the day but it's not a huge deal - I do feel that these facilities would improve the room significantly. The windows also have the ability to open fully as well as part way and there are no guards etc against them to prevent children from falling. Not an issue for us as we didn't open them fully, but I do think parents need to be aware of this when booking the room. The rooms aren't cleaned daily, this isn't a huge issue but it would have been nice to have at least had the bins emptied daily, as we had to have a couple of takeaway dinners (see earlier comments about sleeping child, haha!) and the bins are very small. Again, not a massive deal for us, it didn't take away from the trip at all! The hotel accepts dogs - not a problem for us as we love them and the room didn't smell at all - the few dogs we saw were very well behaved and sweet! A few people have commented on the decor of the hotel - it's true, it does need a full facelift to be dragged into modern times, but it's totally clean and comfortable and that's what mattered to us :) We'd absolutely recommend this hotel! Just to add for anyone considering a trip to Hamburg, we bought a Hamburg Card which was great for getting discounts at some of the attractions and also covers you for travel on basically everything except the ICE train.

Vi har i mange år valgt Hotel Central pga af afstand til centrum og de gode spisesteder. At hotellet så også er dejligt at være på gør opholdet skønt. Personalet er meget gæstfrie og værelserne har det der skal til.

Wir sind im Hotel Central immer zufrieden. Nettes Personal, preiswert, gute Lage, sauber.

Wir waren nun schon zum 2. mal in diesem Hotel. Es liegt ganz in der Nähe vom Bahnhof Altona, einem Einkaufscenter, Fußgängerzone. Es gibt viele Cafes und Restaurants in der Nähe. Mit der S-Bahn ca 20 Minuten bis zum Hamburger Hauptbahnhof. Sehr gut geeignet für Kreuzfahrer, die im Altonaer Kreuzfahrtterminal starten (wie wir). Man kann mit dem Bus vom Busbahnhof (neben dem Bahnhof) direkt zum Terminal fahren. Zimmer und Bad sind sehr klein, hat uns aber gereicht, Bad und Dusche sehr modern, sauber und absolut ruhig trotz der Nähe zum Bahnhof. Frühstück war umfangreich und lecker. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen.

Lage war sehr gut und die Dame an der Rezeption sehr nett. Preis-Leistung passt garnicht, Preise für die Bundesliga aufrufen und Kreisliga spielen geht garnicht. Zimmer sind renovierungsbedürftig, aber diesmal besser von Fachkräften. Der letzte Fliesenleger würde ich verklagen. Für fast 100€ war es schon unverschämt.

Das Hotel ist zwar einfach, aber günstig und vor allem sehr gut in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Bahnhof Altona gelegen, sodass man perfekten Anschluss zum Flughafen und sonstigen Verkehrsmitteln hat. Auch die Umgebung ist sehr nett mit vielen kleinen Lokalen und einer Multi-Kulti-Bevölkerung, die aber gut harmoniert, sehr lebhaft und sympatisch. Ich habe jetzt bereits zum vierten Mal in diesem Hotel genächtigt und war durch die obgenannten Vorteile immer zufrieden.

Für eine Nacht voll iO. aber die alten Teppiche und die Badewanne ohne Duschstange waren schon noch sehr „old Style“ Möglicherweise hat das Hotel auch noch modernere Zimmer…
