Metropark Holiday Inn (Harbin Central Street)

Situated in the quarter of Harbin, this hotel is a blend of old-world charm and modern comforts. The restored architecture provides a unique backdrop to the well-appointed rooms. Ok this hotel was a lot more run down than expected. The room was big and clean but definitely has got an aged feel. Didn't really get to interact much with the staff. Wifi was wonky and one of the night staff's attitude wasn't the best (read: there's nothing I can do so just deal with it). But the 2nd night that my wifi was down, the staff was amazing. Unfortunately, the problem could only be solved when the IT department came to work. This place is pretty far from the "happening" places, 2.4m. Please book a taxi or something cos walking there is omg. Other than that, things were pretty good. They threw in free breakfasts for my stay since the wifi kinda got me super worked up. Two nights ya know?

It is a hotel for Chinese, they do not speak a single word of English, there is no breakfast food for foreigners, there is no coffee or juice or natural water, plus it is a little dirty The room is small and uncomfortable, with no space for your suitcase or your clothes. We had seen when booking a larger room and then it is half, they call it Premium The elevator with 4 people sets off the alarm. The room has big space and breakfast is plenty of foods. The front desk staffs are good trying to service us although cannot communicate in English.

The room size is good. The breakfast is the lowlight. Infrastructure a bit old and not well maintained. The best is the location, not to close to downtown, but well positioned to visit the landmarks and to access the Airport way.

This is a good budget friendly functional hotel without frills like in western hotel chains. The location is good with almost all places of interest between 4-7 km. There is a departmental store just opposite the hotel for purchase of snacks, power essentials (charger, plugs etc.) and beverages. Breakfast is basic Chinese breakfast - so do not expect Western style spread. Front desk is very helpful. The lobby is good. All in all, it is value for money but not a plush hotel.

Old fashioned hotel. A lot of restaurants nearby. Breakfast is decent.

The room is spacey and relatively quiet, but the uneven floor is troublesome, as I got tripped a few times. Breakfast is so so.
