I don’t normally leave bad reviews, but we had a really bad stay. Some of these things would be totally fine in an otherwise great hotel, while others were bigger problems. Ultimately, they all added up to a pretty miserable stay/night for us. To start our experience, there was no hotel parking lot and no recommendations on where to park on the hotel website. There wasn’t even a designated parking spot or two in front of the hotel to pause and unload. We tried to call the number on their website while driving around Heraklion, but it went straight to some generic reservation line for multiple hotels. We ended up paying for parking in a garage and walking 15 minutes to the hotel with all of our luggage. The entrance to the hotel was not very accessible for those with disabilities; I did not see ramps - so we pulled our luggage up the stairs (luckily only 5 or so). Only when we got inside the hotel did they offer us parking. When we went up to our room, things were not good either. We stayed in a double deluxe room. The digital thermostat in our room did not respond to our touch and the room was stiflingly hot, so we called the front desk. They apparently have access to all of the thermostats and adjusted ours (they didn’t seem shocked when I called - so seems like this might be a common problem). We had to call back again about 1 hr later because the room still wasn’t cooling, and finally, they did something that caused the air to blow constantly and make the room too cold (the thermostat said 16C and it felt even colder). There was also writing on the outside of one of the nightstand drawers and inside one of the desk drawers. There were small stains on the sheets (very small at least). The bathroom was advertised as spacious, but I could sit on the toilet, put one elbow against the shower door, one hand against the mirror over the vanity, and touch the bathroom door with my feet. The shower cabin was spacious at least, but the drain was extremely slow and the shower leaked all over the rest of the bathroom floor. The glasses in the bathroom were wrapped in plastic but didn’t appear to be entirely clean. The bathroom door also didn’t lock, and in fact, the lock *fell out* of the bathroom door. The room was advertised as having a nice balcony with city, sea, or courtyard view. The “courtyard” was tiny - with empty soda crates stacked against a wall below. The emergency floor plan of the hotel was a wrinkled piece of paper placed into a frame on the wall (nbd but added to the ‘we don’t care’ vibe). There was also supposed to be room service available and a restaurant with dinner menu open until 11pm. The room service menu was just a piece of paper that was super faded (this is also absolutely no dealbreaker - but come on, it’s not hard or expensive to print with normal black ink and even laminate). We called to order room service and were told there wasn’t any and that we could go to the buffet up at the restaurant, which actually closed aro
