You'll feel at home at the Blue Walnut House, a freshly updated cottage in "The Gem of the Mountains".There is a spacious living room with plenty of seating and a gas fireplace. We know coffee is essential and have a dual coffee maker, and regular coffee. and a gas range/oven in our fully stocked kitchen for those chef types. We have smart TV's in the living room and one bedroom. There is of course free wifi and a dedicated workspace/desk. There is an on-site washer and dryer for your convenience. Bathroom safety and cleanliness is a top priority. There are accessibility-friendly grab bars next to the toilet and shower and an anti-slip bathtub basin. Parking is free and available in the driveway and on the street. The carport has a 240 volt EV charger outlet available for guests with electric vehicles. *We do not provide a charging cable. Enjoy a walk up the side of the mountain on the trails or relax on one of the wrap-around decks with a coffee of beverage of your choice. Use one of the two gas log fireplaces for a warm cozy evening or of if you prefer to gather around the massive stone firepit right outside. Enjoy the complimentary watercolor paints to add your own stone to the firepit or take it home to remember your trip. Sit on one of the covered porches on a swing or hike down to say hello to the neighboring property’s furry rescues. There is an open floor plan with French doors leading to a large fully enclosed deck where you can sit and look at the rolling hills around you. Enjoy the large enjoy the covered patio with a large stainless steel WIlmington Grill for your outside meal preparation!Secluded and private but close to the Blue Ridge Parkway exit at Little Switzerland only 3 miles away! We now have wireless internet and left a monitor and printer on site for your use if you need to work while on vacation. Enjoy the large covered area to park your bikes while you enjoy an escape only minutes from the Little Switzerland Diamond Back exit! 9 miles to major shopping, 3 miles to closest restaurants and shops, 25 minutes to Burnsville and 15 minutes to Grassy Creek. If you are looking for a fun day trip you are only an hour from Ashville or Boone and less than that to Sugar Mountain! This centrally located hidden treasure will impress you! Highspeed Starrlink internet and an extra monitor and printer if you have to work while on vacation (but try to take time off to soak in the tranquility)!! We have also lowered our nightly rate to encourage smaller groups and families and then added a fee per person above 6. The cabin comfortably sleeps 10-12 but we wanted to make it available for smaller groups as well. Please understand there is now an additional charge for more than 6 people. The reason for this has to do with the amount of cleaning, linens, utilities, internet usage and general wear and tear.
