Camlux Hotel

This hotel is located at Kowloon Bay in which is near my working place and room rate is about HKD 500.Room is cleanness environment and a rapid check in formalities was provided from front desk.

Having a nice short trip with my love. The location not really convenient but good service

I stayed this room in which a cleanness and silent environment.Front desk shall be provided a rapid service to a hotel Guest and housekeeping dept can be to take a great effort.

Nice spot for couples to take some rest. Not exactly in the industrial area which is safe and quiet. The room is spacious and cozy. Just the refrigerator isn’t cool enough, which melts our pudding.

A little far outside but kept in a good condition. The only issue we found is that you can't turn on the bathroom light without opening the sliding door and the door is quite loud when it sliding open. Otherwise nice place to stay

Camlux is poorly managed and personnel failed to mask their faked friendliness, especially a middle-woman front desk personnel member. A middle-woman front desk personnel member who jumped out from nowhere never finished listening to the guest’s request and give a subjective, wrong and judgmental response. The guest went to the front desk to inform them of a booking of an additional night for the following night, which the guest had been communicated with the front desk via a phone call from the guest room just a couple of hours ago. The guest went down to the front desk notifying the staff that she would collect the two complimentary bottles of water after returning to the hotel, and a male front desk assistant answered “Sure.” Returning to the hotel, the guest approached the front desk to bring to their attention the former request. Without checking with the front desk staff who had been on duty since the beginning of the day, the woman interrupted the guest that, being quarrelsome and stuck up, extra water can be purchased from the vending machine down the hallway. The guest made it clear again that she was referring to the compliment for the newly booked night. Again, without waiting for the guest to finish, the woman interrupted, saying the water had already been delivered to the room. How was that possible? The male assistant looked away pretending knowing nothing. The guest clarified what she had communicated with the male assistant and asked her to check with other staff first. The woman briefly went away, coming back with a grumpy face, knowing she had lost her face in this matter. She reluctantly placed just one bottle on the desk, and somebody placed the other one to round it up. The woman said in a stuck up voice, “Take care woh!” meaning the reverse more than a caring note.

The hotel sits in the industrials area of Kowloon East so it’s not close to the metro or major bus stops. Well, given this room rate, you need to pay an effort to walk for about 7 minutes to the major bus stops. There’s also no restaurant nearby so make sure you get takeaway or eat before you return to the hotel area. The hotel room decor is of modern light industrial style with a nice choice of tones of colours of the wall and furniture. Amenities are rather new. However, there are two things that make the stay experience a little disappointing. There’re areas in the room that harbour dust, especially the bathroom door, the table top above the refrigerator and some parts of the wall. Your clothing items would collect if you accidentally place anything there. What stunned me was that they were strict or I would say stingy about giving bottled water to guests, which I have never experienced in any hotel in Hong Kong. At other hotels I’ve stayed in, I can ask for extra bottled water when I needed or they had filtered water dispensers installed in the corridor. (Foreign travellers must pay attention that not all water pipes that lead to the tap are clean and some could have unwanted metal deposits. At Camlux they provided only two 700+ ml bottles of water and each extra bottle comes at $12.

Very convenient spot with nice staffs and great decorations. It’s easy to be spotted for the taxi driver and quite impress there are 3 staffs at the check in counter. There is a huge supermarket and outlet across the road. The mattress is exceptional and very comfy.
