"Make sure to book a room facing the ski slopes! I stayed in room 01.
This was the most satisfying hotel I stayed at in Hokkaido. The value for money, compared to the one next door, was absolutely top-notch.
I stayed for three nights, and the front desk had Chinese staff, so communication was seamless.
The old man working at the supermarket was also very helpful.
Hope they don't raise the prices, haha!"

"This hotel is right next to Lake Toya. We booked an East-facing Japanese-style room and were very happy with it. The window offered a direct view of Mount Yotei, and the scenery was absolutely stunning on clear days. The tatami mats were super comfortable for sleeping, and staff came by daily to make up the futons.
While the hotel's onsen (hot spring) doesn't have many pools, the rooftop bath boasts incredible views, and the ground-floor outdoor bath offers a beautiful snowy landscape. The men's and women's baths rotate daily at specific times. We also appreciated that someone came with a testing device every day to check the water quality, which was very reassuring.
During our stay, we happened to catch the winter fireworks festival. Watching the fireworks from the lakeside was just as amazing as watching them from our room! They went off promptly at 8:30 PM for 10 minutes every night for three consecutive days – it was incredibly romantic.
The hotel breakfast was very generous. The onigiri (rice balls), chazuke (rice with tea), milk, and salmon were daily must-haves. The restaurant also had a spectacular view.
Getting around from the hotel was very convenient. Turn right out the door and a 2-minute walk takes you to the bus stop. You can book tickets online, and the bus connects to various attractions. We used this bus to go to the ranch, the observation deck to see Mount Yotei, Snow World for snowmobiling, and Rusutsu for skiing. Just be prepared for potential bus delays."

The resort offers a wide variety of facilities all in one place, making it very convenient and stress-free for family trips. There are indoor and outdoor activities, play areas, ski facilities, and entertainment options suitable for both kids and adults, so everyone can find something to enjoy.
One of the biggest advantages is the location. The resort is very close to a convenience store,which is extremely helpful for families — whether you need snacks, drinks, daily essentials, or quick meals, everything is within easy reach.
There are also many restaurants inside the resort, offering different types of cuisine. However, it’s important to note that several popular restaurants require advance reservations, especially during peak seasons. Planning ahead is highly recommended to avoid long waits or limited dining options.
Overall, Rusutsu Resort is very family-friendly, well-organized, and convenient. With its wide range of facilities, nearby convenience store, and diverse dining choices, it’s a great destination for a comfortable and enjoyable family holiday — just remember to book restaurants early."

"The location is fantastic, right on Lake Toya. Our room had direct lake views, which was lovely. "This was my second stay at the Park Hyatt Niseko, and it seems the front desk staff was new this time. They made several mistakes, like sending us to the wrong building and getting our room direction wrong – quite unprofessional. On our third day, breakfast at the Chinese restaurant was poorly arranged; we were seated right next to the cart for collecting dirty dishes, which completely ruined our appetite. Otherwise, it was as excellent as ever! The housekeeping ladies were exceptionally good. After a day out, we returned to find our beloved teddy bear neatly placed on the pillow with a blanket over it – so thoughtful! And the teppanyaki was delicious as always!"

"This hotel is nestled high in the mountains, between Lake Toya and the Sea of Japan. The view from the window is absolutely stunning. They offer a shuttle service from the train station, and there's also a stop for Lake Toya. The Japanese breakfast was incredibly refined and delicious. Unfortunately, my stay was too short, and I didn't get a chance to explore Lake Toya. I'll definitely be back for another two nights!"

The only downside is that you have to walk a bit to get to the supermarket and restaurants."

"The room was spacious and didn't feel cramped at all. Having a private onsen right outside the door with lake views was amazing. The public bath was particularly great; all the toiletries were Pola, and it was very clean. The hotel wasn't crowded, so it was very quiet. The only downside was the dinner from the two-meals-per-night plan. It was really greasy and not very tasty. You could tell the chef put a lot of effort into trying to make common ingredients delicious, but there were far too many dairy flavors, which made it quite sickly. The staff were all very friendly and polite, helping with sending our ski gear and carrying luggage. Definitely a good choice for a vacation."

GGuest UserOverall, the service was excellent, apart from the Japanese restaurant being a bit pricey. Muwa definitely offers the convenience of ski-in/ski-out, but if you want to dine out on Hirafu's main street in the evening, it's a bit far, and their shuttle bus running every half hour is too infrequent. Additionally, while the room rates are quite high, the facilities inside are indeed excellent.

The location is perfect — just a 2-minute walk to the Hirafu Welcome Centre, making it extremely convenient, especially for catching the direct bus from the airport. The surrounding scenery is beautiful, giving us a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay.
The service was excellent. The staff were attentive, helpful, and made everything very smooth for us. The room was super clean, well-maintained, and came with a washing machine, which was incredibly convenient for our trip.
What impressed us the most was their pick-up and drop-off service to the Hirafu Welcome Centre. It made our arrival and departure completely hassle-free.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Hirafu!

At night, as soft lights illuminate the room, lying on the plush bed, the world feels wonderfully peaceful and tender. Waking up in the morning, brewing a cup of coffee and enjoying it with the lake view outside – a simple yet profoundly blissful moment unfolds.

The dining experience here is simply sublime. Various alcoholic beverages are kept in ice buckets, freely awaiting wine enthusiasts! Dinner is exquisite and innovative; each dish is a stunning work of art, so delicious that it makes you want to return just for the food. Breakfast is delicate and abundant, awakening your taste buds and setting a wonderful tone for the day. The shiso soda thoughtfully provided in the in-room mini-fridge is incredibly refreshing after a hot spring soak, leaving a lasting, pleasant aftertaste.
The toiletries have a delicate fragrance, leaving the skin soft and comfortable after use – even these small details are not overlooked. The overall service is friendly and sincere, without being overly familiar, yet maintaining just the right amount of professionalism. It truly feels like a 'just right' luxury experience!

Convenient for all arrangements during guests' stay, including arranging car pick-up, changing towels, making appointments for cleaning, etc.
We booked a three-bedroom room with three toilets, so the family members don’t have to queue up in the morning. The room faces Mount Yotei, which is great for taking photos.
The breakfast is average, nothing too surprising. It is included in the room rate, so there is not much to ask for. . If you have high requirements for breakfast, you can buy the ingredients and cook it yourself at the hotel.
The only thing that is relatively inferior is the kitchen equipment. There is no hot pot equipment, but the microwave and steam oven are Miele, which are very easy to use and convenient. It can be seen that the hotel's management team is willing to spend money on hardware.
The most commendable thing is the service. Since the hotel is relatively far from the ski resort, it is very convenient to call a taxi to and from the ski resort every time. You only need to notify us 5 to 10 minutes in advance. 
This is a hotel I will definitely stay at next time I come to Niseko.

The buffet selection isn't huge, but the food quality is quite good. The room was comfortable, and the overall environment was quiet and peaceful. Having a private hot spring bath in the room was incredibly relaxing 🤍. The only downside is that the surrounding area is a bit remote, making transportation inconvenient for those without a car. There's a small shop on the ground floor of the hotel selling souvenirs and snacks. It's about a 5-minute walk uphill from the hotel to the Grand Hirafu Base ski area.

AAnonymous UserFirst, my apologies to the hotel! Their service was excellent. I didn't see anyone in the bathing area when I entered, so I took some photos. I wanted to share these with anyone considering staying here, so they could see the environment in detail.
The hotel is directly opposite Mount Yotei, offering fantastic views. The room came equipped with bath towels, hand towels, bathrobes, and a razor. Before entering the hot spring pool, you'll need to bring your toiletries and room key. You can place your belongings in a basket before entering the hot spring.
A hot spring tax of 300 JPY is collected before check-in.
The washing machines are free to use, but laundry detergent is not provided. You'll need to buy it outside or bring your own.
The room shows some signs of age, which makes it perfect for nostalgic enthusiasts! It has both air conditioning and a radiator. The view from the window is absolutely beautiful, making it a great spot to sit by the bed and relax.
Overall, it's pretty good.

XXiaopaokakaThis hotel is a hidden gem where I stayed for three nights. It has four floors, with the entrance and front desk located on the second floor, accessible by an elevator. On the first floor, there are separate male and female onsens (hot springs), each with three indoor baths and one open-air bath. The changing rooms are equipped with washing machines and dryers (laundry costs a very affordable 100 yen per wash, and you can buy a laundry pod at the front desk for 100 yen).
The hotel offers a set breakfast (included with the stay) and dinner (can be added on arrival for 3300 yen per person), both served individually rather than buffet-style. Breakfast times are 7:00, 7:30, or 8:00 AM, while dinner is at 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, or 7:30 PM. There's a friendly Chinese-speaking staff member from Beijing at the front desk.
The guest rooms are Japanese-style tatami rooms, offering views of Lake Toya and a popular photo spot. Each room includes a safe, kettle, cold drinking water, sterilized cups, a writing desk, a table lamp, a massage device, and lotion, among other amenities. The hotel also features a coffee bar and a souvenir shop near the front desk.
Each room has a toilet and a sink, but no shower. The only downsides are that the entrance door to the room and the bathroom door are quite low, probably around 1.8 meters, and there's no drying room for ski gear (though with permission, you can place your ski equipment on the floor in the front desk area). The air conditioning has three powerful settings, so it never felt cold. The windows are double-paned.

WwsmitaoThis is my second time staying at this hotel! I stayed here once in November 2023 and found it to be excellent value for money with impressive aspects across the board. So, when I came back to Toya, I naturally chose this hotel again!
The location is quite central and convenient in the Toyako Onsen area. It's very easy to find places to eat, close to convenience stores, and a short walk to the boat pier. Plus, there's a 'Sakuramachi' bus stop right outside.
The hotel isn't small, with many rooms and two onsen baths: the Cave Onsen and the Clear Sky Onsen. Both are genuine hot springs and very comfortable to soak in. You can also pay extra to book a private onsen, which is great for families.
Although the hotel is a bit older, it has maintained its service and cleanliness, giving it that classic Japanese onsen ryokan feel that I really love. The lake view is superb, and on a clear day, you can easily see the beautiful Mount Yotei from your room!
Overall, I think this is the best value-for-money hotel in Toya! Friends who enjoy the Japanese onsen ryokan style should definitely give it a try~

MMini1222Facilities: The room is quite spacious for Japan, split over two floors. It's very new, though going downstairs to use the toilet is a bit inconvenient. As a ski hotel, it's already quite good.
Breakfast was packed; if you wanted a window seat, you had to be there right when it opened or just get lucky. Eating breakfast between 8 and 9 AM meant queuing for a table, and even when there were clearly window seats available, they made me sit elsewhere. I saw that they wouldn't let me switch, which was quite frustrating.
The onsen (hot spring) felt a bit dirty; compared to many other Japanese onsens, there were too many floating particles.
