We really enjoyed our stay, the room and good were excellent. The staff were all brilliant and nothing was too much

This is the 3rd time staying at the Woodman. Every time is an experience. From the moment you walk through the door of your room you feel as though time and effort have been put into making the customer feel at ease, with little luxuries like a coffee maker, nice biscuits, a superb bathroom with gorgeous shower gel and hand lotion and a really comfortable bed. Plus the hotel is situated in a beautiful part of the country.

Lovely location, with some great staff but didn't quite live upto expectations of a 5*AA venue, room had several issues over our 2 night stay, and I did find paying in advance without even seeing my room or having any kind of experience strange, I was not advised of this and no receipt was provided,I only new when my bank told me. Aside from afew issues I can't fault the overall venue or team in general, but maybe standards have slipped slightly, would be a shame as I can imagine what great would look like.

Lovely place with beautiful old features done in a modern way. Food was amazing, though menu a bit limited. It was great for the wedding we attended, and really well organised. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was lovely with comfy bed and amazing shower. Beautiful location, handy to station

excellent venue,great food,great staff and atmosphere,stopped for one night due to a wedding really enjoyed , i would reccomend the woodman inn to anybody. the food was great reasonably priced .the location is very scenic

The room was very warm and comfortable. Decor was good. Shower was hot and powerful. Drinks tray with tea, coffee maker and biscuits very useful. Room was excellent for dogs as on the ground floor with doors to access inside and outside directly. Lovely location and we had a pleasant local walk which was very muddy for the last section. All the staff very friendly and helpful and made a fuss of our two dogs. Evening meal in the bar was excellent. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back as sometimes visit relatives nearby.

We had another very pleasant stay at The Woodman. The food was excellent and the room of a high standard. We have stayed a few times before and always enjoy our visits. The countryside is beautiful. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at this little jem of a hotel over New Year. The location is just fabulous, the rooms, are large, cosy and well appointed.The coffee machine in the room is a nice touch. We enjoyed a really nice meal in the evening, the only drawback being it was a tad nippy in the upstairs dining room, and we had to ask for the heating to be turned up. Breakfast next morning was excellent. We will be back for another stay, and to try Sunday lunch. As we only live half an hour away, it's great having found such a lovely relaxing hotel...

We stayed at the Woodman at New Year with friends. The overall experience was fantastic. The NYE celebrations were really good. The staff were amazing, the venue was lovely and the food was really good. We stayed on new year's day and had a great walk locally. We had dinner that evening in the restaurant in the pub and it was one of the best Sunday lunches we have ever eaten, the fish and chips equally excellent. All the staff are really friendly and professional, especially at such a busy time. The breakfast was also excellent, produce was exceptional, superbly presented and cooked. Again, the staff were attentive and helpful.
