Huzhou Giraffe Manor Hotel

We stayed at this hotel for one night on August 10th. The Giraffe Manor Hotel is located in a bamboo forest. We booked a package deal on trip.com. We arrived at the hotel in the evening, and we were a little unlucky with the weather, as Typhoon Dolphin was in full swing, so we weren't able to fully appreciate the park and its children's activities. We booked a Distant Mountain Family Room. This room is on the first floor; it's better to book a room higher up—on the second or third floor—with a terrace for a view. The room, bed linens, and towels were clean. The room has everything for children, including a play tent, toys, a children's skincare set, and a giraffe-themed toothbrush. There's a bathtub by the window in the room itself. On the table was a plate of seasonal fruit, a capsule coffee machine, and coffee capsules. There was also a children's snowball fight set. The room had a slight, subtle odor, possibly due to the humid climate; we weren't sure what it was. But our main goal, of course, was breakfast with the giraffes. We arrived at the restaurant for breakfast at 6:30 a.m. We recommend arriving at that time to get a table by the window; the giraffes are released at 7:00 a.m., which is when they're hungry. Carrots are sold starting at 7:00 a.m. A bag of carrots costs 30 yuan. We bought 15 bags of carrots in total, as feeding the giraffes is a joy not only for children but also for adults. The giraffes are very well-groomed and cute. They have beautiful eyes with eyelashes. We definitely recommend coming here with children. The breakfasts themselves are delicious, buffet-style, and offer both Chinese and European cuisine. They also have delicious ice cream. We also had dinner at this restaurant. The portions are very large; one dish is easily enough for two. Our package included champagne, but you need a separate paper coupon for it. Please confirm this with reception if your package includes champagne. We weren't given a voucher right away; we had to write to reception during dinner. The issue was quickly resolved. We communicated with the hotel staff through a translator throughout. Upon checkout, our daughter was given a stuffed giraffe. We definitely recommend this experience for families with children and not only for kids: breakfast with the giraffes will be a memorable experience for everyone. We will definitely recommend this experience to our friends and everybody.

Having breakfast with the giraffes was probably the best part of our stay. It was such a unique and amazing experience, although everything else about the stay was great too! 🦒❤️

Outstanding stay at Giraffe Manor. The giraffes are amazing and well cared for. All the animals were great and so wonderful to interact with! Get to breakfast early for a window seat. The distant mountain lodge was lovely and the special care provided by Yang made the stay especially wonderful. Will definitely return!

We were very disappointed with several aspects of this hotel. I’ll start with the NEGATIVES (positive will be below): According to the hotel’s description, it opened in 2020, so we expected a relatively new, modern and well-maintained property. Unfortunately, the reality was very different!!! ① The bathroom was particularly disappointing. The electrical outlets were installed at an angle, making it very difficult or sometimes impossible to plug anything in. The shower area was dirty and worn, looking more like it was 20 years old rather than six. The shower head sprayed water in different directions, including directly into your face. ② The shampoo and shower gel dispensers were poorly secured, and some did not work at all. We had to unscrew the bottles and pour the shampoo directly onto our hands. ③ The room itself was also poorly maintained. The floor had many sticky marks and stains, while the walls were heavily scuffed and damaged in several places. I understand that this is a popular hotel and naturally experiences a lot of wear and tear. However, for a property presenting itself as a five-star hotel, this level of cleanliness and maintenance is very disappointing. In its current condition, it feels much closer to an older three-star hotel. If you are considering staying here, I would strongly recommend keeping your expectations low and not relying too heavily on the promotional photos and advertising. The actual condition of the rooms was very different from what we expected based on how the hotel presents itself online. On the POSITIVE side, the beds were comfortable and the bed linen was clean and fresh, which we appreciated. We also really enjoyed the breakfast with the giraffes. If you want to get the best experience and be among the first guests, you need to start queuing from around 5:50 a.m. The giraffes are adorable and come up to each table, which made the experience very special and was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. *I will not add photos of the beds and giraffes because hotel and other guests have all of them, but I prefer to add photos with real problems.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at this hotel. I would like to give a special mention to YANG, our service staff member. He was incredibly attentive, always available, and went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed. Even when we had minor issues, like forgetting our room card, the response was instant and they resolved it immediately. The room was spotless and very well equipped. We were pleasantly surprised to find a capsule coffee machine in the room. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted with a complimentary fruit platter, and there was even a special set of children's toiletries for our little ones, which was a lovely touch. The infrastructure is very convenient. Despite the rainy weather, we felt completely comfortable moving around the park because there are umbrellas equipped everywhere and electric cars. The entire staff, from the cleaners to the drivers, were all very friendly and welcoming. The park is clean and well-maintained. The free photo session with three digital photos was a wonderful bonus, and at the end of our stay, we were delighted to receive cute giraffe souvenirs as a gift. Of course, the highlight was the unforgettable giraffe breakfast and the amazing park itself. Even with the language barrier, the service was excellent, and they provided support in English. We are extremely satisfied and highly recommend this place!

The Jotel itself offers more or less as expexted. As foreign customer do not expect english as option. You will need an app for translation as the resort caters mostly chinese and russian guests. Pro: Animals, forest feeling, nice views from balcony House and tatsy food Cons: 1) very agressive russian tourists who seems to only come for the pictures of giraffes during breakfast occupying their tables for 4 hrs straight 2)General litter and plastic ad well as consteuction garbage in the nature aside of roads 3) English skills of caddy drivers whom not able to communicate properly when you want to go somewhere 4) The breakfast giraffe observation tables in general: - people stay very long on tables - the resort should ask people to move when only holding tables - maybe make only second row tables and keep the front for everybody. - ban people from live streaming and facetime or wechat live calling because it is very annying. All in all a nice stop for 2 nights but the guests behabe terrible

Our stay at Giraffe Manor was truly magical and unforgettable! 🦒💕 The location of our room was perfect — quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. It honestly felt like we were one-on-one with the wild, rather than staying in a typical hotel. A very special thank you to our concierge, Yang, who deserves a special mention. We communicated with her throughout our entire stay through WeChat, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was always incredibly quick to respond, very polite, kind, and helpful with anything we needed. Having someone so attentive and reliable available whenever we had a question made our stay so much easier and more enjoyable. We truly appreciated all of her help and felt that she went above and beyond to make our trip extra special. ❤️ Breakfast with the giraffes was definitely one of the highlights of every morning. 🦒 Watching the giraffes and all the other animals living, exploring, and enjoying their surroundings was such a beautiful experience. It felt like we were simply guests in their world — observing them in their natural environment and becoming a small part of their space. This is definitely not a “behind-the-bars” type of zoo. The animals have so much freedom and space, which makes the experience feel incredibly special. There are also so many things to do around the hotel. We received a bunch of coupons at check-in for different activities, which was a great bonus. There are a couple of restaurants nearby as well, serving great food, so there’s plenty to enjoy during your stay. Our room was cleaned beautifully every day, and the car/cart service around the property was very convenient whenever we got tired of walking. Everything was well organized and made the whole experience comfortable and relaxing. We’re so happy we chose to stay here. It’s one of those places that feels like a little fairytale and creates memories you’ll remember forever. And a huge thank you again to Yang for making our stay even more special! ❤️
