Broad Bean Resort & Spa

Dirty, poorly maintained. definitely not the star rating given to it. First of all the roads getting to the resort were in terrible condition and were under construction and it was difficult and multiple detours had to be taken even getting there. Once I checked in I was taken in a dirty and beat up golf cart to the rooms. The rooms were smelly and sleazy and bathrooms dirty. Even after putting the AC on, the smell wouldnt go away. The ***ager offered to show me another room, and it was dirty and smelly too. I was alone and would have had to sit inside the room for my stay during evening hours because of how sleazy it felt. There is a little pond that has a little boat which is misleading. Pictures make it look like a lake. I politely told the ***ager that I didnt feel comfortable and that I would need to find another hotel. Tried to get a refund but was refused saying that I had been offered another room which was the same if not more sleazy than the first. Other members of the same group that were visiting from overseas that I met later had the same thing to say. the rating given to this resort needs to be seriously re-examined. I was able to thankfully find a much cleaner hotel close by, at that time of evening that definitely felt safer and a lot cleaner.

The Broad Bean is awesome Had a very nice stay during january. Calm n sceneric place to stay..This is apt for friends family n couples. Great ambience with lots of activities. clean and neat rooms and restaurant. Polite and supportive staff service ❤️Happy to visit again Broad Bean

The hotel is situated very far from Munnar and it is not advisable to do the check in and check out in the night due to bad roads with no light. Also the hotel is not worth to spend the amount of money as there is no cleanliness and no maintenance. The room towels are not cleaned, cups in the rooms are dirty, you will find spider web, lizards atleast we found these. But I must say the food is really good that is the only thing I liked about this place, rest is not worth spending the money.

This property, set deep in the interior, offers a warm reception complete with a welcome drink and a brief on the rules, regulations, and available activities. A buggy ride to your room allows you to enjoy the scenic roadways, setting high expectations. However, upon reaching the room, these expectations may plummet. Surprisingly, the room is equipped with a wall fan, an unusual feature for a property claiming four or five-star status. Despite adjusting to this, our dining experience also fell short. The buffet, priced around 1.5k per person, failed to impress. With about 5-7 items, none of the dishes, except for the coconut rice, had any notable flavor. This was disappointing, especially after a long journey from Kochi and expectations of a satisfying meal. Local roadside eateries might lack in cleanliness but often excel in taste, a contrast to this property’s average cleanliness and bland food. Additionally, the staff seemed inexperienced and unprofessional, possibly locals employed for daily tasks. While supporting local employment is important, one expects a certain level of hospitality from a five-star establishment, which was lacking here. I raised my concerns for food the next evening just to tell them that they should improve the food quality then they offered me to not pay for the dinner on second day, even after insisting to pay for the buffet as I ate rice and dal(which was the best they had) they didn’t charge me. This property is often a top recommendation on the Make my Trip planner, possibly because it's not easily discovered otherwise. I advise taking your time to find the right place. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this property until there are significant improvements in hospitality, which, unfortunately, seems unlikely to happen soon.

The hotel staff was very humble and the spa was good but the rest of the experience was not good. The rooms are dirty. They have converted normal room to a jacuzzi just to give it an upgrade but experience was not good as it was not planned properly. The services are not upto the mark. We ordered for in room dinning and the food always took an hour to come. The handwash soaps are very substandard, most of us have dry hands now. Food is average.

A well maintained property with beautiful rooms, service oriented and lot of attractions like spa, buggy services 24 hours. It’s a scenic beauty with extra large rooms and well maintained.maintenance attends complaints immediately.

This resort is slightly far from Munnar town, so you need to cover some extra distance while going to all points. But overall, stay was pleasant and food was decent. It’s not a very large property so there is nothing much you can do there. Overall decent stay option near Munnar.
