I've thought a lot about this review because I truly am a positive person! After reading a lot of reviews on this B & B I thought I must have been at a different place. I'll start with the positive...we stayed in the Beach Cottage and it was nicely decorated & very clean. The bed was comfy as well. However, the whole property just seemed "sad." The buildings needed to be painted, the chair & table set in front of the cottage was rusty and the carpeting on the porch was coming off. But the thing that was most disappointing was the host (s). A lot of reviewers mentioned how nice the hosts were, how friendly & helpful, etc. A young woman checked us in and was ok, but not very professional. The next morning at breakfast I had inquired about decaf coffee. Her response was, "we have a Kuerig". Nothing else said, like "I'll make it for you" or "please feel free to use the Kuerig", nothing. I thought this was very rude! After breakfast (which was good but quite minimal) we mentioned that we had to leave early the next morning and despite the fact that their information said they could accommodate an early leaving, again she said nothing. Not even have a nice trip. Overall, my husband & I were less than pleased with our stay. We've stayed at numerous B&B's over the years and always felt very welcomed by the staff; not so much here We would not recommend this property.

For those of us who enjoy quiet, and minimal crowds, this is the place. It is very clean and comfortable with plenty of outdoor space to sit by the firepit or have a cocktail on the private porch. The breakfast was delicious and unique - not the standard fare! But don’t order the charcuterie board- definitely a mistake and overpriced!! Host was extremely amiable and brought out extra wood for us after hours. Nice place and convenient to historic sites.

My mother and I stayed in separate cottages, the Wren and the Beach, respectively. The cottages are charming, private, and cozy. The Beach Cottage had a hot tub and cozy little area around it; both cottages were fully stocked with kitchen appliances. The (soon to be) new owners were an absolute delight. They gave a tour of the home, discussed Silver Heart Inn's history (which was, admittedly, pretty cool), and were excellent hosts. The Innkeepers live on sight, and are friendly and available should a guest need anything. The breakfasts , for the two days we were there, were awesome. Just the right amount of food, it was tasty and light, and the Innkeeper was the perfect host. My only regret was we did not have time to take Charles up on his tip to investigate the Vaile Mansion, due to time constraints (Sorry! It sounded so cool!). If you want a cheap, same-sy place to stay, try an extended stay hotel. But if you want your journey to include a historic, gorgeous and more than fair-priced experience, featuring a charming breakfast and hospitable Innkeepers, then maybe check out Silver Heart Inn. I know I will probably be back when I come through there. Thanks again for an awesome stay!

Absolutely loved the bed and breakfast! Had amazing decorations that really take you back in time. The breakfast was also delicious and they had snacks and drinks available 24/7. 10/10…would definitely recommend for a quiet and relaxing getaway.

This is our favorite bed & breakfast! The owners are so kind and the breakfast is always amazing. We stayed in the beach cottage on this trip and it was so cozy and comfy. The secluded hot tub is also a fun addition to this cottage. We also attended one of their murder mystery dinners. We had a blast and the food there from a local chef was great. It’s always a 5 star stay. And we will continue to keep coming back!

Feel like you’re taking a step back in time when you stay at the Silver Heart Inn. So many aspects of this home feel authentic to its original era. Our first room was cozy and beautifully decorated. When we wanted to stay an extra night, Charles very kindly moved us to one of their cottages. We had a complete one bedroom home to ourselves. The on-site owners of this gorgeous inn are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

We booked Silver Heart Inn B&B to host a baby shower. The venue was beautifully decorated for the holidays and was perfect for our tea-party theme. The owner, Charles, was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. The mom-to-be and all of our guests had a wonderful time! I highly recommend Silver Heart Inn if you're looking for an event venue.

We had the best time here. Stayed in the Beach Cottage which was very clean and appeared to be recently updated. It The hot tub off the back kitchen was a nice treat. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The home cooked breakfast was delicious and filling. We would highly recommend this Inn and plan to stay here on our next visit to the Kansas City area.
