As seasoned and discerning travellers, we have only praise for the delights of Villa Thamburu. Rarely does a hotel achieve excellence in all areas, but beautiful Villa Thamburu manages to do this. The architecture is cohesive and sympathetic giving it to modern,calm, tasteful and relaxing vibe. The use of local woods combined with polished concrete and plaster throughout, give it a spacious and jet comfortable atmosphere. The rooms are superb, from the design to the careful anticipation of one’s needs in terms of facilities. Great care and attention is given to servicing the rooms to a very high standard and it was a delight to return to our room, any time of day to find it set out for our needs. The restaurant offers super delicious range of local foods and international dishes with Sri Lankan twist. Food, preparation and presentation are taken very seriously. We were so delighted with the quality and range of foods that we never ventured out, which is a rarity for us. The staff are warm and friendly and offer a high quality of service which makes dining here a first class experience. The design of the gardens and the hard and soft landscaping are chic and natural. The hotel has a beautiful garden which they are rightly proud of which displays an array of Sri Lankan, trees and plants and herbs for guests to enjoy. There are too many of the staff to mention in person, but I genuinely felt that from everyone from the hotel manager/owner to the chefs and all of restaurant and room staff were committed to giving guests, a very personal, warm and first class experience. It was a huge pleasure to stay at Villa Thamburu. I anticipate that they will achieve a high rate of returning visitors. we certainly intend to return with thoroughly recommend this very beautiful hotel.

One of the best and relaxed holidays we have had. From the get go the staff at the hotel made our experience memorable. All the housekeeping and front office staff are very friendly and accommodating to our requests. The breakfast in the morning is another beautiful experience. F&B team not only are knowledgeable and friendly they also looked after all of our special requests. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a romantic getaway or just to recharge the battery

Villa Thamburu is a fantastic hotel to stay at while visiting Bentota. This hotel has been open for just over one year, and the staff does a remarkable job maintaining the hotel. Spotlessly clean and modern rooms, fresh towels, and bedding . . . the Villa Thamburu staff addresses your every need. I searched for a 5-star hotel in Bentota and found it in Villa Thamburu. With only 15 rooms/suites, you truly feel pampered by the staff. The groundskeepers are up early in the morning, ensuring the gardens and pool are ready for the early sun worshipers. The hotel grounds are exclusively for guests, and Bentota Beach is just steps away should you wish to swim in the sea. The hotel restaurant, Tharinhois, is also recommended. In my 6-day stay, I ate all but one meal at the restaurant. Whether it was the wonderful breakfasts in the morning with a fruit platter, scrambled eggs, French toast, juice, and cappuccino, or the fresh fish for dinner with a mixed salad, I knew the food was top quality and well prepared. I have many colleagues who travel to Sri Lanka for vacation, and I will highly recommend that they stay at Villa Thamburu.

This was a holiday of a lifetime in the perfect location in one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The staff could not have done enough for us and made us feel special throughout our stay. I celebrated my birthday whilst staying here and there wasn't one member of staff that didn't wish me a happy birthday. They decorated our room and made a cake and made my day extra special. We couldn't recommend this hotel enough for a personal stay. The restaurant was also some of the best food we ate whilst staying in Sri Lanka. We will definitely be going back, not soon enough. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and welcoming stay. -Don't fall into the same trap I fell in because of the location ...... unfortunately, my experience was soured by the behavior of guy who try to manage this premises Throughout my stay, boy was rude, dismissive, ****** and unprofessional///)))

We just returned from a wonderful stay in this boutique luxury hotel. The design by a Portuguese architect uses natural materials in a very tasteful, modern minimalist design. Rooms are extremely comfortable with views of the sea and the chef Chaminda is brilliant - the Sri Lankan breakfasts are exceptional.

We loved the stay! The rooms, the staff, the service, the food, the location and everything else inclusive is a 10/10. We loved the interior of the entire villa and the ambience was spectacular. The staff is incredible! Not a single person fails to smile and greet. Very flexible and helpful. We were very satisfied and content.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped with free high speed internet, free parking, and breakfast included. The hotel has a beautiful garden where you can relax and enjoy nature. The staff are friendly and helpful. They greet you with a smile and make sure you have everything you need. They also arrange a tuk tuk for you to go to the nearby town and airport transfers if required. They are attentive and professional. The hotel is peaceful and tranquil. It is located in a quiet area, away from the noise and crowds of the city. You can hear the birds and the waves, and walk to the beach to see the marine life. It is a perfect place to relax and unwind. I highly recommend Villa Thamburu to anyone who wants a cozy and comfortable hotel with friendly staff and a peaceful environment. It is a hidden gem in Sri Lanka that you will love.
