Boutiquehotel Weisses Rössl

I didn't know what to expect when I booked this inn. An Austrian acquaintance said it was the best hotel in Innsbruck, and I said most likely not. The rate was 75 EU (single) including breakfast, pretty standard for most "older" quaint hotels in Europe. Now that I've stayed there, I don't think I'd stay anywhere else in Innsbruck. It may not be grand but was just perfect. The hotel is roughly 20 minutes walk from the train station, in the heart of the old city of Innsbruck. It is 600 years old, very well kept and staying there is like staying in a family museum. The entrance to the hotel is a cavern with stairs leading to the reception on the 1st floor (2nd). The hallways and stairways are traditionally decorated, predominantly heads of deer, other animals, occasional stuffed bird, old paintings (incl the family ancestors), and few pieces of hiking gear. However, the hotel is very well equipped with modern devices like a proper (small) elevator, halogen track lighting on sensor in the hallways, even a computer and desk for public use on my floor. My room was on the 4th floor, and fairly good sized. It is simply furnished, modern European style, efficient, more like a room in a mountain lodge. Two single beds on each wall, separate toilet and shower, updated lighting & electrical, radio alarm clock, wall safe, modern windows, even remote controlled air conditioning (which I did not expect at all.) The hotel it seems specializes in Tyrolean cuisine served outside in the terrace or in the restaurant on the 1st floor. Breakfast was typical cold European breakfast, lots of bread, cheeses, cold cuts, jams. Weisses Rossl does not have any pretension, just a very old inn, in a very old building, traditional yet modern. The staff (lady at the reception, the servers in the restaurant) were very helpful and engaging. And a cab to the train station costs only 6 EU.

Perfect location to discover Innsbruck and the area around. The bad thing is, u can't access the hotel by car in the afternoon. Perfect service, Friendly staff. Just some rooms are a bit older without air-condition, which doesn't matter much in the mild or even cooler climate here. A must do is, to have dinner or lunch at their 1015 fallstaff rated restaurant. Enjoy your stay and the perfect meals!

An amazing hotel; incredible location, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Buffet breakfast with plenty of fresh options - with compliment coffee sit well alongside a comprehensive a la carte choices. Rooms clean and comfortable and a same day washing service very convenient

The perfect place to stay in Innsbruck. Right in the old town, but also 50 meters from a public transit stop. The best of both world, quiet and convenient. Our room was lovely, big shower, great water pressure, good wifi. We did not eat at the restaurant but the breakfast was top notch, everything was delicious. The coffee was good and strong. Eating outside when the weather allowed, two fo the three mornings we were there, was very nice. Se slept superbly on the comfortable bed with a variety of pillows offering options. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying at this hotel! Our suite room was spacious with a sofa and seating area and it also had a small balcony. The room had a walk-in wardrobe/dressing room and the toilet was seperate which was great. The breakfast were large with great variety and the staff were consistently happy and friendly and smiling. We ate dinner here one night and it was really good too. The location of this hotel was perfect - right in the centre of the old town with lots of interesting things all around. It's in the pedestrian-only area, so we parked our car in the nearby underground carpark. it wasn't very far to walk to the hotel with our suitcases. We thought this was a great place to stay for 3 nights and would recommend it to others.

This is a very nice hotel. Staff was helpful and polite. Breakfast was great and included eggs to order and various coffee choices. Location is great for walking around the old town. Depending on crowds, taxis and/or Uber may not be able to pull up to hotel. However, it's only a two minute walk from where the pedestrian area ends. We were always able to be dropped off and picked up at the hotel's front door. Restaurant was excellent, but crowded. Rooms were pleasant. The bathroom is odd. There is a toilet in a small black painted room, but the sink and shower are basically in the bedroom area. Shower is private while in it, but no private dressing area. Can't wash hands in middle of night without having to turn a light on in the bedroom. Also, the way the sink area is positioned, it's the first spot you see walking in the room. Not very nice seeing toothbrushes etc... when walking in. There is an elevator, but if you take the spiral stairs, be careful as they seem a little perilous. Overall it's a nice, reasonably priced hotel in a convenient location.
