Baymont by Wyndham Iron Mountain

It was a nice hotel. I was told that they recently renovated and the room and the bathroom were stylish. I like the hardwood floors, just my personal preference. It was quiet so I got a good night sleep. The front desk woman was very nice and professional. She answered my questions about where to go for the local eats. The breakfast offered a variety that I can eat something hot or cold.

This motel seems more like a rooming house for alcoholics!! As i was going to the vending machine there was an intoxicated man sleeping on the chairs in the front lobby! Full garbage bags laying around, I believe it was the owner who was talking to a gentleman who was asking if he could pay for another night due to his wife’s in the hospital and he refused saying he stayed long enough and in the sign said hospital rates which is why we WERE getting a room for a couple days due to my husband stay, he was very rude and unprofessional! We left! Very misleading as far as saying weekly rates!!

The pillows were very soft and my stay was a very nice. Nice beds and bedding. Clean rooms. They have a nice pool area. It’s close to restaurants and stores. Even near by a gas station that’s 24 hours.

Do NOT be fooled by the photos!! This hotel somehow received a 3.5 rating prior to us booking here for the night. It really should be no better than a 2 and that is being generous. The rooms are quite dilapidated. I noticed one reviewer gave it a 5 but their review said it was horrible so not sure why they scored it so well. This CHOICE hotel offering clearly does not bode well for the CHOICE hotel family. Yes the pricing is lower comparatively but the condition of this hotel should make even some hard-up renters wary. For starters, the rooms are outdated, moldy, in significant disrepair, dark with light receptacles that have missing or burnt out bulbs as well as broken curtains that don’t even cover the windows so the lights outside shine in all night. In mentioning lights, I will say their parking lot is the probably the only thing well lit which is somewhat comforting to say the least. The only other positive is that we did not encounter any critters that might have infested our persons or belongings. Granted that inflation has made the value of the dollar tank but we do think the owners of this hotel could go a long way towards improving this venue without breaking their bank. Until then, please don’t be fooled but the deceptive photographs and above average rating… it’s not at all what we would expect from a reputable brand and they can do better. Stay at your own risk!!

Total wreck of a hotel. If they say they have you in the downside, don’t go. The floor is squishy. The room stinks. Flies on the ceiling and walls. Mismatched furniture. It’s dark but from what I could see they need some serious landscaping work done. If it weren’t midnight and all the rest of the hotels sold out, I’d chock it up to a loss and move on.

Room 308 Black gunk frozen in the freezer Hair in sink, also hair PAINTED into the sink Hair in tub Sticky mouse trap in the room Condom wrapper in the side drawer next to bible Floor in bathroom next to the tub was STINKING IN when you stepped on in (on 2nd floor). So who knows how rotten the floor is under the tub! The middle part of the bed frame was just laying under the bed. Looked like it had been taped back under but didn’t work. There were stacks of WOOD on the head end and the foot end holding up the bed! Paint was worn out and the room smelled bad. Also was missing a window screen. The night front desk man told me I couldn’t have my 2 hour late check out (platinum member, that is allowed)
