The hotel was located centrally in Sultanahmet, within a walking distance of the big four sights (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and Topkapi Palace) of Istanbul. There were plenty of restaurants in the nearby streets and some of them had good prices combined with tasty food. Even though the location was central, it was on a quiet street, so there was practically no street noise that would have disturbed. Our room was tiny (the two beds barely fit there and also the shower was super small), but we knew that already when booking. The room was also somewhat worn down. Maintenance was slightly neglected, e.g. the aircon started working with a delay when switching it on (it blinked a warning about a fault before starting) and the aircon remote control had empty batteries when we arrived. Our room was on the first floor and we could hear the noise from the front desk area in our room. Fortunately the hotel was small, so there wasn't much noise coming from there. There was a complimentary breakfast available at the front desk (literally, the items were placed on the desk) between 8 and 10:30. The selection was quite limited, but the items were fresh - e.g. fresh bread was delivered from the bakery in the morning. On two days we had to go before 8 and some items (cereals, eggs, apples, tomatoes and strawberries) were available from 7, but not the full selection. Bottled water was available for purchase at the front desk, but we got our first bottles for free when asking about it. On the day before our check-out the room wasn't cleaned, but on other days there were no issues with the cleaning.
