The Hotel was old and slightly run down but the room was kept clean by daily house keepers and there was hot water 24/7, the air conditioner was of a very good standard and kept our room at a very comfortable temperature as the outside heat was 27c. The roof top breakfast was a credit to the hotel and the view was amazing. My reason for the 1 * review is a strong one, in that the daytime front desk concierge (Emra) ripped us off. He organised a people carrier to transfer us to the airport for our journey home. We pre-paid him 1700tl which we were told was the full price to be paid for the taxi. On pick up, a completely different taxi turned up. On arrival at the airport the driver insisted we pay him 1000tl for the journey. We explained we had already paid 1700tl to the hotel for the service. After a long heated discussion and police almost being called to assist with the dispute, the driver called the Broken Column Hotel night staff to find out what was going on. It was confirmed that we had all been conned by Emra and that the cab driver would now have to drive 50 minutes back to the hotel to be paid by them. This was an extremely disappointing end to our holiday and what would have been a lovely stay at the Broken Column Hotel. The rest of the staff at the hotel were absolutely fantastic, and let down only by this one person. We only wonder how many other people he has done this to; especially as people don't have time to go back to the hotel and dispute this as they are about to catch a flight, and so most people probably just pay the money. It is absolutely shocking.
